This Beast-Tamer is a Little Strange

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Kain's Affinity Revealed

"If this is how it looks, why can't I see it?"

*Maybe the host should look more closely at its information*

After receiving the hint. Kain immediately looked at its basic information and was taken a back by its size.

"15 micrometers? That's microscopic," Kain muttered in shock.

"Microscopic…wait don't tell me…" Kain's stomach began to sink.

Kain's mind flashed back to his awakening ceremony. 'I would love to have an undead affinity right now. The undead are great! Just please don't tell me that all of those seemingly empty eggs were actually full of…"

*Microscopic organisms? That is correct host*

Kain wanted to break down in tears.

Maybe back on his previous Earth bacteria and viruses could be powerful weapons, but in this world where even children have managed to absorb at least a little spiritual power, most microbes that could cause disease were considered harmless.

Kain doesn't even think the people of this world are fully aware of the existence of microbes. Why would they be when there are the much more interesting spiritual creatures to study and diseases are practically unheard of?

The fact that Kain's contract even possesses enough spiritual power to alter the mental state of awakened individuals and form a contract with him is an anomaly, he doesn't hold out much hope in being able to find another.

"How could this kind of affinity get an S-rating." Kain said despondently. Until this moment he had been holding out hope that his affinity was for some kind of rare and powerful creature, which is what that machine was sensing, but how could this kind of affinity receive an S-rating?

*Humans' method of assessing potential encompasses both the strength of the contract creature, as well as the number of types of creatures one can bind. There is no affinity more broad than yours. ALL MICROORGANISMS. That includes all the types of bacteria, viruses, amoebas, archaea, fungi and more that are too small to see with the naked eye*

"Great! So I can bind thousands of varieties of useless creatures too weak to actually have any combat effectiveness. Awesome!"

*Although most microorganisms do not possess much, if any, spiritual power, there are always exceptions like the one you contracted. As someone from a planet that has been repeatedly ravaged throughout history by plagues and pandemics, you more than anyone in this world should be aware of their potential. With the power of evolution, even Black-iron quality beasts could reach a much higher level.

Most microorganisms are already incredibly susceptible to mutating, with this system's help, you can surely still achieve all you've dreamed of*

'No I can't,' thought Kain disheartened. 'How could I be satisfied when everybody else has bound companions that they can hold, communicate with, hug, and love? Companions that could carry them into the sky or to the depths of the ocean. Can my contract even think? Feel? It'll definitely never be able to carry me'

*The Host should take a closer look at your contract, I think that with time you will come to be amazed by the potential of your affinity.*
