Chapter 905 905 Duel
Chapter 905 Chapter 905 Duel
It looked like the ground was bombarded by a whole tank regiment or more. Even the thick forest in the place got demolished in the process.
If it was not reduced in rubble then it was burning hotly in place.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Aveus Griffins roared in grief and anger. With a flick of his wand, two more large phoenixes came at his side.
"WHOOOSH!" A half breath later, 3 ravenous magical constructs descended to the ground and created a sea of flames thereafter.
Great was Aveus Griffins\' fear of this man yet to introduce himself that he summoned such a punishing magic even at the expense of this innocent forest.
It was for the greater good after all.
"DING!" A familiar sound echoed behind him. Like a tearing of space and matter. Aveus Griffins\' heart sank at the grave import of this change.
"So... this is wizard magic. It\'s nothing much but it has its infinite uses, I\'ll say." The Demon Lord who had just apparated behind Aveus Griffins commented.
"You could have killed me many times over during our battle... yet you didn\'t. Is it so fun to play with prey?" Aveus Griffins asked plainly.
He turned around and the wings of flames on his back turned a shade dimmer as if it mirrored the desperation he felt inside.
Nevertheless, Aveus stayed afloat a thousand meters above ground as he looked upon the strongest adversary of his long life so far.
The nameless man was not anymore naked but was now covered by grotesque bone armors that shrouded everything but his head.
A blood red cape completed the garb which suited quite perfectly with his eyes that bled a crimson radiance into the fray.
One violent gale passed and the man\'s raven long hair flowed along with it. He was an image of immortal perfection even amidst these chaotic winds.
Aveus Griffins knew that he was vastly outmatched in this fight. He had thrown everything in his arsenal and yet his magic could not even draw blood on his foe.
He had nothing to show for his efforts for his enemy remained unscathed all throughout. Not even a scratch as a paltry reward.
More than that, he also believed that this man could take the power of those he had killed judging from his meaningful words earlier.
"Why waste your breath in rubbish words, Aveus? You know what i want of you. Or perhaps you need a little bit more push." The Demon Lord nodded in understanding.
"DING!" The Demon Lord flicked a finger and its sound scattered so loudly against the silence of the night. A breath later, an image in the sky appeared.
It was of an old man that looked very much like Aveus Griffins. The old man was a tall, thin, grumpy-looking and with a great deal of long grey hair and a beard.
It was not hard to know who this man was. Alas, his fate was sealed in this night of slaughter.
Perhaps the only consolation to be had was that he would not be alone in this journey to the afterlife.
"DO NOT!" Aveus Griffins shouted in rage and threw an almost infinite salvo of magic towards the evil man in the sky with him.
He was fueled by fury and madness that the wand on his hands cracked from the exertion of his will. Unfortunately for him, his efforts was all for naught.
His magic hit the Demon Lord\'s body and then nothing. It appeared like his magic was sucked cleanly inside the evil man\'s body.
This was nothing new of course since this was the same exact thing that happened before. Alas, this weakness has cost Aveus Griffins an irrecoverable loss.
"AHHHHHHHH!" Dark thick flames devoured the man in the image and just three beats later, not even ashes could be seen on his remains. He was just gone out of this world.
Evaporated into nothing.
"Antonio!" Aveus Griffins went berserk that he even went to go up close and threw wild punches into his most hated enemy.
"CRACK!" His knuckles broke on impact but he never stopped at all. The pain in his heart was more than any physical injuries could match.
"DING!" Another image was known and this time it was yet another old man. It was the picture of a man that was busy taking care of many magical animals.
Even in his advanced age of 90 plus years, his passion for fantastic beasts never wavered.
He may not have gone out in adventure for such a long time but he was content with the adventure of a lifetime.
Unfortunately for him, he was felled by the same fate as the first man in the image.
"Nizzen!" Aveus Griffins was openly crying now. These were the tears of his weakness.
"STOP! I WILL SERVE YOU! I SWEAR! JUST STOP!" He cursed the words out loud hoping for cessation of this torture but how could a true Demon Lord suddenly stop at merely two?
"DING!" The third image showed a ten year old boy who was currently sleeping in a cupboard under the stairs of a house. There was a star like scar on his forehead.
A touch of dark flames later and he was gone from existence. But this boy was not the last on the list.
Nine more innocent souls followed him and every single one of those happened to belong to the closest in Aveus Griffins\' heart.
Those that had come the latest suffered the most since the Demon Lord would ever increase the time they all spent burning in the flames.
The last one endured for 10 minutes straight before death released him from his scorching torment. With a dozen loved ones dead, the Demon Lord finally relented.
"..." Aveus Griffins was already down in the ground, his head low, and the flaming pair of wings on his back gone.
His fists were broken mangled flesh and bones yet he never healed them with magic or otherwise. He wanted to numb the pain within but found out that he could not.
