Chapter 988: I Cannot Be Separated From You Again, Even For A Minute

King Draco was too preoccupied with his own thoughts as he stared at the face of the beautiful goddess. Minerva. She was even more beautiful than what he remembered. The man was deeply saddened.

However, he still tried to see if, perhaps, Minerva would remember him if he reminded her of the past.

"Tell me, dear goddess, do you remember the following that participated in the last tournament to godhood. Prince Jadeith and Urther? Both of them were kicked out due to injuries and you were one of the volunteer maiden goddesses that treated them."

Minerva's eyes widened in surprise as she looked at the human and then felt guilty. "Why yes, I know the two and have talked with them, but—"

"Thank you. I just wished to confirm that." Without another word, King Draco promptly left the street and quickly stuck himself in the empty alley.

The darkness of the night bathed him as he mulled over the meeting and was filled with grief, rejection, and loss.

It was a slap to the face.

Even his own two former companions were recognized.

"It's because they have their magic don't they?" King Draco chuckled with deep rancor. He closed his hand into a fist and threw it against the building wall until it split open, but he barely batted an eye.

He gritted his teeth. "Other realms have magic and their kind is all magical users, meanwhile I and the rest of the humans have to work twice as hard to mimic even a fraction of their strength. It's pathetic and unfair."

He remembered that upon his conversations with Prince Jadeith, the elven prince mentioned that the reason why the elves and other races have magic was because of no other than the King of Cretea.

"What did he say? It was because they were deemed worthy?" King Draco closed his eyes and recalled the conversation.

The future king of the elven race married a princess from Cretea and the elven race was granted the ability to use magic. Most of which were attuned to their connection with nature.

"The chances of the current king giving the magic dust in order to turn Rowena into a magic-user is slim. She may have some talent or connection since she is a half-elf, but that is not enough." King Draco rubbed his face.

He could still smell the faint flowery scent of Minerva as she approached him.

"Once I become a skilled magic user, I'll be able to gain some status here. I've come so far to come here, there's no way that I will simply turn my back because of a mild inconvenience and hurtle towards my plans."

He may have tasted defeat now, but victory was still possible.

The person who couldn't adjust would lose, it was by being flexible and adaptable that King Draco outlaste

d both Prince Jadeith and King Urther during the tournament back in the day.

Now he only needed to do that now but in a bigger and wide-scale scenario.

King Draco just needed to push everything on the edge and he'd get everything—he found himself too impatient after two decades of waiting. He had suffered long enough and there wasn't enough time.

Unfortunately, there was a stressor to his plans and the thought of it made him grumble as he made his way back to the palace.

"With how Rowena is acting, even during the initial meeting—I doubt they would really give her some of that magic dust." King Draco clicked his tongue in annoyance. He remembered the interaction vividly because it was important. "That girl only needed to look as if she wasn't a lunatic and make herself into an appropriate fiancee, but she couldn't even do that. She was lifeless and listless like a stick. Is it because she's seeing visions again?"

The thought annoyed him so much. What would happen if King Areal and Queen Lilith realized that Rowena was seeing things and deemed her as an unworthy marriage partner for their youngest son?

"I won't let them drag me out of Cretea before I get what I want." King Draco clenched his fist in determination. "Not only is that unceremonious, but I also cannot accept such treatment."

He was a man of pride, determination, and will—no matter what happened, he would come and get his way. That was how King Draco Roseland lived his life.

Nobody would stop him.

He was invincible.

Or displayed that invincibility to his daughter. Finally, the man made up his mind.

Raphael waved his hand with a broad grin on his face and the big double doors opened to the sides, giving them way into Rowena's chamber in the palace.

"This is it," the man said reaching out to Rowena's hand and taking her in. "I hope you'll like the room."

It was simply the most beautiful room Rowena had ever been in. It was huge with tall ceilings and so many floor-to-ceiling windows with curtains that opened to the sides, showing the view of the garden by the lake. She could sit by her window and watch the view forever. It immediately gave her a sense of peace.

She turned to Raphael and smiled broadly. "I love it."

Raphael looked at her with a twinkle in his eyes. "I am glad you like it. This is actually my room. We'll be sharing it together. I hope you don't mind."

Rowena's eyes bulged and her smile grew. "Really? I don't mind."

She didn't know why knowing she was staying in Raphael's room even before they got married made her feel really happy. Rowena couldn't help but go to him and hug the man war

mly.

"I don't mind at all..." she whispered.

"Uhmm.... good," Raphael said with a hoarse voice. "I don't think I can be separated from you again even for one minute."

Rowena felt her heart pound so hard when she heard his sincere words. She felt as if she was engulfed by a really nice warmth. She missed him when he was not around and was so happy to be back in his arms again.

"I feel the same way," she whispered truthfully.

After their warm embrace, Raphael pulled away from Rowena a little and looked at her face carefully. He touched her cheek and then slowly planted a sweet kiss on her lips.
