Chapter 658 - Internship (2)

Chapter 658: Internship (2)

Dr. Chu continued to scold Jian Yiling: “What now? Why are you not speaking? Are you mute? If you’re mute, you shouldn’t be a doctor! A doctor must learn to communicate with their patients! People like you only know how to talk on paper! You only understand data and numbers! However, that won’t make you a good doctor!”

“You should learn to speak and communicate with patients! If you can’t learn that, then don’t be a doctor! Just go home! I’ve mentored so many interns, however, I’ve never met one as bad as you! You’re definitely the worst intern I’ve ever had!”

“Why are you still standing there? Why don’t you learn how to communicate with your peers?” Dr. Chu impatiently urged when he saw Jian Yiling standing still.

After Jian Yiling left, another doctor attempted to persuade Dr. Chu: “Dr. Chu, she’s still so young. Just show her a bit of mercy. Don’t make her cry.”

“Crying? Who even sent her to this hospital? They’re honestly wasting my time,” Dr. Chu huffed. There was disgust in his voice as he said this.

Their hospital was a nationally renowned hospital. Furthermore, all the interns who came here were the top students among their medial cohort.

However, what was this intern even doing? She did not even communicate with the patient. Furthermore, she somehow had the confidence to say that the patient needed surgery immediately.

Upon hearing this, the other doctor said: “But isn’t she Jian Yiling? She’s a top student amongst the medical cohort. Furthermore, she skipped a grade in university. In addition, she also finished her undergraduate degree early. I had high expectations for her.”

Dr. Chu scoffed at these words: “Do you know what she did just now? She said that the child with gastroenteritis needed surgery! Surgery! Do you really think she can make that call? She’s only been studying medicine for a few years! How many patients has she even seen? Does she think that she’s a professional doctor or something?”

Then, Dr. Chu snorted through his nose.

The other doctor in his department helplessly shook his head.

Ahh, Jian Yiling was not good at dealing with people.

As a student, she should ask if she didn’t understand anything.

Furthermore, even if she had opinions, she should have gently suggested them to the doctor. She shouldn’t have been so confident.

She was basically questioning the authority of the doctor that was mentoring her. No wonder Dr. Chu took her comments personally.

###

During their lunch break, one of the girls interning with Jian Yiling attempted to persuade her: “Jian Yiling, why don’t you apologize to Dr. Chu?”

“Thank you. But I’m fine,” Jian Yiling replied. Her voice was soft and calm.

Furthermore, the expression on her face really made it seem like she was actually fine.

Jian Yiling had a lot of things to do recently. She had to overlook the construction of Lahaisen Hospital’s new branch. And thus, she did not have the extra time to get anxious and angry with a doctor that did not have much to do with her.

“But if you’re like this, you’ll have a hard time in the future,” the girl continued.

“It’s okay,” Jian Yiling replied. It was as though she was not very concerned with this.

“Ahhh, I really don’t know if it’s good or bad for you to be like this,” the girl said as she shook her head helplessly. Then, she turned away to concentrate on her own things.

She didn’t know Jian Yiling well in the first place. And thus, she couldn’t help her if the other person wasn’t willing to listen to her.
