Chapter 801 - Pink Devils

Chapter 801: Pink Devils

The start of the Great Law Emperor!

The difference between a Great Law Emperor and a Law Emperor was just in that one word, but the gap between the two was actually heaven and earth!

On the eleventh day of his seclusion, Xia Fei had not only learned the Skywing’s essence of combat, how to unleash his inner demon, he had also increased his cultivation, attaining Great Law Emperor!

“Well done!” Xia Tian was thrilled. “A breakthrough to become a Great Law Emperor in just eleven days; you’ve set another new record in our Skywing Clan! This speed isn’t just fast; it’s extremely fast!

“The Law of Speed is a derivative of the Law of Space, and the higher your cultivation in the Law of Space, the greater it will support your Law of Speed! You’re going to experience something entirely different from before when you begin cultivating the Law of Speed as a Great Law Emperor!”

Xia Tian brandished his fists, seemingly very excited. Though he was still wearing his spectacles, it was apparent that he could barely contain the passion that he was feeling surging inside him.

This was when the three outside, Xia Lanshan, Xia Xiaobo, and Xia Wuye, entered the room, surrounding Xia Fei. Xia Xiaobo was in absolute admiration of Xia Fei. The two men were barely two years apart each other, but Xia Fei was who knew how many times stronger than Xia Xiaobo; in terms of cultivation, combat experience and their inner demon, Xia Fei was far more outstanding than him in every aspect.

Xia Wuye excitedly commended, “Xia Fei, since you made it past the Great Law Emperor threshold, you’re now a rank 13 expert among the Skywings, a true core strength to our clan!”

Xia Fei was very humble. Wiping his sweat off, he replied, “I may have improved my Law of Space, but my Law of Speed is still at level 1, much worse than the others by a lot.”

Everyone appeared somewhat embarrassed hearing this. After all, Xia Fei was a max level speed ability user before he began cultivating the Law of Speed, which meant that he was incomparable to the others. Patriarch Xia Buyun was amazing enough and was called a generational genius speedster, yet even he did not reach level 8 before he began cultivating law, meaning that he was a level lower to Xia Fei.

Though Xia Fei had only reached the first level of his Law of Speed, his speed had already surpassed two hundred forty thousand meters per second and was comparable to the others, whose cultivation was at level 3 or even level 4.

Xia Tian’s eyes sparkled after being pleasantly surprised. He declared in a loud voice, “Good! Since you’ve mentioned your Law of Speed, why don’t we get started on it immediately! I’ll personally instruct you on your cultivation with the Law of Speed. I wish to see for myself just how long you’ll take to make breakthroughs with the Law of Speed, seeing that it only took you eleven days to get past the Great Law Emperor threshold!”

Everyone was startled. They had all been affected by this crazy cultivation atmosphere. Xia Lanshan and Xia Xiaobo both stood there listlessly, wondering if they should just seclude themselves in a training room right now.

Xia Fei’s presence was so great a driving force, considering that everyone could not hold a candle to him. There was, of course, no comparison; Xia Fei had the potential to be a Godwing, and his inner demon was more powerful, too, able to induce this sense of danger among them all, which was an impetus for them to practice hard.

Skywings had always been carefree and lax with their expectations, but Xia Fei’s series of performance since his arrival had gradually begun to change the clan’s attitude. They still had their freedom, but with more competition in terms of cultivation, though no one dared to hope that they could have even greater than Xia Fei, none of them wished to be left in the dust by him.

“Okay! Let’s immediately begin cultivating the Law of Speed. I’ll work hard to achieve level 2 as soon as possible!” Xia Fei said with verve.

Xia Wuye said with mild hesitation, “According to the instruction from the patriarch, you ought to be cycling through your training, so you should be seeking Xia Laoshi for instructions on how to become a full-fledged energy master and artificer.”

Hearing Xia Laoshi’s name, everyone appeared quite pained. Even the newly promoted Law Emperor Xia Xiaobo was no exception. For the sake of his cultivation, the young man was forced to borrow heavily, owing Xia Laoshi an astronomical debt that he might never be able to pay it all even for the rest of his life.

Every elite who came out from Windrider Pavilion would be thoroughly fleeced by Xia Laoshi. Of course, Xia Fei was the exception; not only did he escape owing debt during his time there, he even nearly caused Xia Laoshi to go bankrupt, which was why the two presently had such a poor relationship.

Upon thinking that Xia Laoshi still had to teach him the two major skills of energy control and artificing, even Xia Fei could not tell just what kind of treatment he should expect.

Xia Tian waved his hand grandly as he said, “We need to strike while the iron’s hot. Just let Xia Laoshi and Xia Changchun wait a few more days. He can invite them over after Xia Fei has reached level 2 with his Law of Speed.”

Maybe it was because they both had powerful inner demons, but the look Xia Tian gave Xia Fei was one filled with admiration.

Everything must be done in moderation, even cultivation. Xia Tian forced Xia Fei to rest for a day, to stabilize his hard-earned success before beginning his next assault for level 2 Law of Speed.

Xia Fei spent half a day staying in the training room, consolidating his level, before he headed over to where Huo Yutong resided to check on the status of the Celestial Zerohammer.

The Celestial Zerohammer was very important to Xia Fei as it meant that he would acquire a divine weapon, and though the clan already had plans for Xia Fei to learn artificing from Xia Laoshi, that was a long-term plan. Right now, he still needed Huo Yutong’s help.

Entering that previously prepared sealed space, Xia Fei saw that the preliminary framework of the Celestial Zerohammer had already been completed. The Celestial Zerohammer this time was slightly smaller than the one Xia Fei saw last time, but the materials used were of better grade. Xia Fei had really paid through the teeth for this, so the effect should not be too bad.

Huo Yutong was behaving a lot more distant than before. After Xia Fei had gotten leverage on him, Huo Yutong had been restless. Xia Fei used this opportunity to show kindness, acting respectful and even giving him a gift. Only when Huo Yutong saw that Xia Fei did not harbor any animosity toward him did he warm up a little.

“This Celestial Zerohammer is something I made in accordance with the ancient method. Though it’s a bit more complex, it’s rather effective. You should be able to use it in half a month’s time,” Huo Yutong pointed to the huge structure in the open space and said.

Xia Fei replied, “You’ve put plenty of effort into this, master. Xia Fei is very grateful.”

Huo Yutong pouted. “If you didn’t blackmail me, would I need to work so hard? I barely got any sleep every day; all thanks to you, I can see the people of the Thousand Clan banging at my door even in my dreams.”

This was all slander, but Huo Yutong remained expressionless as he asked, “Do you really plan to activate this system yourself? If you must know, it’ll be very hard for you to operate such a high-grade Celestial Zerohammer without a Great Law Emperor cultivation, and the end effect will suffer, too. You’ll end up wasting plenty of raw materials for nothing if you fail.”

Xia Fei smiled. “Oh, what a coincidence. I’ve recently reached Great Law Emperor, so I should not have any problems with operating the Celestial Zerohammer then.”

Shocked, Huo Yutong blurted out, “What?! You’re a Great Law Emperor already?!”

Xia Fei nodded, acting very natural.

…….

The construction of the Celestial Zerohammer progressed as per normal. In half a month’s time, Xia Fei should be able to obtain his second divine weapon! Xia Fei was greatly pleased by this.

It was just that there were too many variables. Not mentioning the long and crooked Solid Gold Flying Cicada Pupa, just the disruptive power from the Law of Primal Chaos would be enough to shock this construction at every step. Xia Fei had inadvertently forged himself the Blood Crystal the last time, so there was no telling just what would end up happening to this bloodthirsty demonic dagger this time.

Furthermore, Xia Fei had yet to consider what other weapons he would want to use as the subject. The Dragonscale Hectoslasher, October Flying Snow, and Ode of Hundred Spirits would all be decent choices.

‘Should I use it on the Blood Crystal again?’ Xia Fei pondered to himself, but he soon shook his head. ‘No, that won’t be good. It’d be too great a loss if I were to lose the Blood Crystal. After all, the reason why I’m going through the levels so quickly is half thanks to it. Nothing must ever happen to that dagger, as it’s too important to me.’

Just as he was deep in thought, Xia Fei’s registered compass rang. He saw that it was Keenan, the third executive of the Grand Cloud Association, who was calling him.

Keenan promptly complained the moment Xia Fei answered, “Young Master Fei, this has truly been a hard time. You wanted us to look into the person who put the bronze mongoose mask up for sale in Galerain Society’s auction, and we’ve finally got the answer! Our boss spent quite a lot of effort before we got some first-hand information from Galerain Society.”

Xia Fei was surprised. He had always suspected the person who came in with the bronze mongoose mask was in cahoots with the one from the Old God Cult, who took the Law of Time. Now that there was news on that front, it meant that Xia Fei had a chance to locate the Law of Time!

“What did you find?” Xia Fei asked with a raised eyebrow.

Keenan’s expression became very exaggerated. As he mimed looking left and right to make sure no one was around, he quietly said, “Guess what? It’s a frontier mercenary group who brought that bronze mongoose mask, the Pink Devils!”

Xia Fei anxiously asked, “A mercenary group?! How do you people from the underworld have ties with mercenaries?”

Keenan answered, “You may be unaware of this, but mercenaries are the main driving force in the Exiled Grounds, willing to do anything as long as the price is right. Many times, we in the profession will encounter difficult problems that require their assistance, so we’ve of course established some friendships with them. If they wish to join in our trade fairs, we will of course not stop them.”

XIa Fei nodded. “Let me ask you: What relationship does the Pink Devils and Malevolent Squall Bandits share?”

Keenan appeared to be very astonished. “The Malevolent Squall Bandits are a bunch of grave robbers and are very notorious. If they do have any relationship with each other, it’ll be as escorts, bodyguards, or something of the ilk. I’m not exactly clear on the details.”

Xia Fei thought about it for a second. “Send me all the information you have on you. Also, you’d better keep your mouth shut about this.”

Keenan froze for a moment before nodding in agreement with a smile.

After looking over Keenan’s information, the old demon lord commented, “The situation is so complex. The Pink Devils are an elite mercenary group from the Exiled Grounds, and nothing that involves the Exiled Grounds is anything simple. After all, that’s the third major force in the Law Realm and also the most complicated force.

“Pink Devils mercenary group can be anyone’s accomplice. If they had really gotten their hands on the Law of Time, they should’ve already sold it to someone by this point.”

Xia Fei nodded. As the term ‘mercenary’ suggested, that group likely accepted a commission, working for whoever was willing to pay them, without any questions whatsoever. Hiring mercenaries to snatch the Law of Time was clearly for the sake of severing all clues!

It was highly likely that they already gotten their hands on the Law of Time and then disappeared. Xia Fei would have a slim to none chance of uncovering any potential clues as to the law’s whereabouts at this point!

Xia Fei’s gaze turned cold as he solemnly stated, “I won’t give up on following this lead on the Law of Time. Let’s go; we’re off to meet this Pink Devils mercenary group!”

The Exiled Grounds was not just the territory of the mercenaries but also where the impersonators Hyacinth operated.

Xia Fei arranged for Hyacinth to spearhead the investigation in advance before requesting a leave of absence from Xia Tian. He was about to go visit the Exiled Grounds once more!
