Chapter 92 He Didnt Let Her Go
At the implication, her heartbeat quickened and her stomach fluttered. She knew this feeling all too well. Even as she got more and more comfortable sitting in his lap while in his embrace, she refused to voice her realization out loud.
"Well?"
He tilted his head down to look at her in the eyes. When he saw her resting her face on his chest, snuggling against it as if she was made for the spot, his gaze softened. He caressed her cheek with his thumb, her skin as smooth as it looked.
Zhao Lifei knew what he wanted to hear, but she couldn’t say it because in reality, as much as her heart wanted him, she knew she wasn’t ready.
"I need time." She quietly whispered.
Yang Feng felt his heart drop at her words. It was the opposite of what he expected her to say.
He let out a tired sigh and ran a hand through his hair. While it was not ideal, he knew that the fact that she was willing to give their relationship a try was already a huge step for her.
He looked down at her. She was staring into nothingness, but the fact that she was resting on him was more than enough for him.
"You want me to wait for you."
Zhao Lifei slowly nodded her head.
"J-just a bit longer." She was filled with anxiety at the thought that there was a chance he would reject her and reveal his impatience. Who would want to wait for a woman like her?
His gaze softened upon seeing the hesitancy and fear in her expression. She was scared he would leave her, and her simple fear was enough to warm his chest. This meant at the very least, she still cared for him.
"Only a bit longer." He told her. He placed his lips on the crown of her head to give her a quick reassuring kiss. When he pulled back, he saw a hopeful smile bloom on her face. Agreeing to wait for her to finally accept him may not be as bad as he had thought.
"I will wait for you, but you’re not allowed to push me away again. I need you to trust that I will stay by your side, no matter what." He firmly said, leaving no room for any arguments. If she wanted one condition, he also wanted one.
She thought about it for a while and nodded. "I can only promise to try."
A pleasant feeling bloomed in her heart at his sincerity. Her resolve to keep her word strengthened.
His arms looped around her waist, securing his hold on her. "And you’re only allowed to date me."
She let out a burst of tiny laughter upon hearing his words. "Alright." She mused, a small smile on her face.
Now that their feelings are clear, he wanted to make sure to stake his claim on her. He wanted to let her know that he would crush any man who dares lay a finger on her. The photos from this morning were still fresh in his memory.
Seeing she had accepted his condition, he decided to change the topic to something else in hopes of lightening up the mood once again.
"You came in with an envelope. What did you want to show me?" He asked her, pulling back a bit to finally give her some space. But he didn’t let her go very far and kept her securely seated on his lap.
"Let go of me first. We can talk on the couch." She told him as she awkwardly squirmed on his lap, wanting to sit on her own. She tugged at his arms that had caged her in and kept her from moving.
His gaze darkened as desire filled him. Did she not realize that she was sitting on a delicate part of his body?
After that intense makeout session and the way she rubbed against it, he was getting more aroused by her. He ground his teeth, his jaws clenching at the true test of his self-control.
While he struggled to maintain his composure, she was completely oblivious to his friend that was hardening with every one of her struggles. He tightened his hold on her waist, not allowing her to squirm any further.
He decided that he would endure it by keeping her still. And besides, he didn’t want to let her go when it felt so right to have her in his arms.
"Don’t be stubborn." She added on. That’s strange, there’s something hard pressing on her thighs-
"You can tell me what it is right here." He said to her, refusing to let go.
"How can you read like this?" She rolled her eyes as she referred to their position, leaving almost no room for anything to come in between. When she moved again, he nearly lost control.
"Fine."
She sighed in relief. Finally, she was going to be let down--
He didn’t let her go.
Instead, he only adjusted their position so that she was fully seated on his lap with her back against his chest and his chin resting on her shoulder. With one hand wrapped around her waist making sure she went nowhere, he grabbed the envelope with his other hand.
She turned her head sideways to glare at him and nearly grabbed the nearest object to whack his head with it. How can he be this stubborn?! What was wrong with him today?
"Why are you so clingy today-"
He ignored her. "What is this?" He asked her, pulling out the papers and glancing at the USB drive.
Was it a proposal idea from Zhao Corporation? Did that sneaky Zhao Moyao already figure out that he would agree to any of his business proposals if it meant he can keep this feisty little consultant in his arms?
A mischievous grin graced his face when he realized how great it would be if he could negotiate with Zhao Moyao to keep his granddaughter here where they can spend all their time together.
That old man and his granddaughter would also probably try to use their guns on him at this proposal, but it wouldn’t hurt to try right?
She reluctantly sighed, knowing he would not let her go, thus, she finally accepted her situation.
"I’m not sure if you’ve already found the culprit behind the assassination, but I did." She knew he wouldn’t release her anytime soon, so decided that she might as well make herself more comfortable.
While she was shifting her butt into a better position on his lap, she had noticed the pressing thing underneath her had gotten incredibly harder. When she looked up at him and saw his eyes burning with lust, her face heated up. She immediately decided to remain still until she can finally run away from this deviant pervert.
