Chapter 558 Night
Behind a smoky wall, two players kept their faces masked. That was their idea of keeping the smoke out of their system. White Online Masks and they worked well.
Then, the smoke stabbed through the smoke and struck the chest of one of the players.
The player got impaled and lost a small amount of HP. The crude wooden spear didn\'t have enough attack strength to kill.
His teammate warily glanced at the smoke and gulped. Now, the smoke wall stopped them from seeing their attacker. In the end, the smoke was a double-edged sword!
"Wow!" Zachary chuckled.
Isaac frowned, \'The spear barely did any damage. This is bad for the players without special weapons. They would never be able to fight against others with special weapons. This is stupid and unfair.\'
Ding, ding.
In the sky, a notification appeared for every player and New-Gen Human.
[The first blood has been spilled by the enemies!]
[The First Event Begins!]
[Attack of the Wolves!]
"That doesn\'t look good." Zachary chuckled.
"This ain\'t laughing matter, let\'s leave." Isaac immediately started to climb down before the wolves had time to attack.
"Jeez, okay." Zachary showed his tongue and followed after.
At the center of the vast grass field, a crack appeared. From there, wolves with brownish furs popped out, like the earth gave birth to them. Soon, there were over a thousand of them, growling hungrily.
As they smelled the scent of blood, they stomped their paws on the ground and started dashing towards the forest. The Players and New-Gen Humans watched as the bloodthirsty wolves came after them.
Soon later, Zachary and Isaac returned to the cave. There were already dozen blood-red-eyed wolves in their forest, getting cut by the sharp sticks.
"Wow, it\'s really working," Zachary said while looking at Isaac in a new light. He didn\'t expect the sticks to work, but against bloodthirsty wolves, it worked like magic.
However, some of the wolves found out that they could jump over the sticks. Thus, soon a dozen wolves jumped over the obstacles, reaching the cave without a hiccup.
Isaac prepared to pull out his weapons as the wolves slowly crouched near the entrance.
However, as the atmosphere turned tense, Zachary\'s eyes shone like pair of stars. The cave darkened significantly, and the forest turned dark like suddenly night dawned!
"Woof, leave."
The wolves staggered backward, a fear rippling in their malicious eyes. They felt genuine terror when looking at Zachary. Because there was an illusion of thousand feet Giantess behind him, looking like she could kill a whole civilization with one stomp.
The night disappeared, and the sunlight returned.
"What was that?" Isaac asked with a deep frown. Even he felt a spike of terror sprouting inside his heart. There was the presence of some otherworldly creature. Next to the Giantess, he felt like an ant.
"Nothing, let\'s reinforce our defenses!" Zachary cheered loudly as he left the cave, heading to the forest.
Isaac didn\'t walk even one meter, his heart still pounding as the scene flashed over his mind. He truly felt like the Giantess didn\'t look at the wolves but instead at him. Still, her presence alone scared the wolves.
When even the bloodthirsty wolves felt fear without being looked at, what about Isaac?F
\'Who is he..?\' Touching his chest, Isaac looked at humorous-looking Zachary. However, there was a lingering presence of the Giantess behind his emotionless eyes.
\'Was that… a Legacy Figure? It must have been, that feeling of terror and coldness could only belong to God…\'
Shaking his head, he left the cave.
In the surrounding forests, the fighting echoed far away. The corpses of the wolves strewed across the ground, thinning the air with blood.
However, an hour later, the event ended.
[The First Event\'s Over!]
[Check the Points!]
Stab!
Isaac stabbed a newly-made wooden spear into the ground, testing its durability. As the words shone in the air, Zachary\'s voice came from the cave.
Turning around his head, Isaac noticed Zachary motioning for him to go there. He strapped the wooden spear to his back before returning to the cave.
The mechanical clock showed a far bigger number than previously.
[Points: 1067]
"That\'s good… I think." Zachary said while shrugging his shoulders. The number of points seemed far bigger than before.
"Not enough." Isaac said and glanced at him with a tired eye, "Everyone fought and killed those wolves for over an hour. But, none of the wolves dared to come back after you scared them off, and we didn\'t even get kills."
"O-Oops." Zachary innocently chuckled, completely forgetting about it.
Isaac sighed and returned to his bed, "Well, that doesn\'t matter. Let\'s focus on the future."
"Yes, sire!" Saluting, Zachary sat down on his bed. Then, his ears perked up as suddenly a flow of power began surging inside him. His mouth curved into a smile.
"You know, it\'s now nighttime."
Isaac frowned while lying on the bed, "And?"
"Just saying," Zachary said with a playful wink. He lay down on the bed, chuckling humorously. As soon as he felt the power surge, the sun disappeared from the sky, replaced by a grayish ball.
The Realm turned silent as everyone returned to their quarters.
However, in some parts of the forests, there was a movement. Players, and New-Gen Humans alike, wanted to use the night to their advantage to get several easy pickings.
Isaac rested his head against his right arm, placed under his nape. The chilly wind brought a flurry of thoughts alongside.
A serious frown dawned upon his face. He knew there were many who would try to use the night to their advantage. Especially Assassins.
Zachary hummed humorously with his eyes closed. However, the flashes of images continued moving across his eyes. For some reason, during the night, he could see everything that was happening in the Realm.
He also noticed several players entering their forests.
Opening his eyes, a smirk appeared on Zachary\'s face, "We have company."
"Hmm?" Isaac, at first, tried to listen to any sounds but didn\'t hear anything. He thought that Zachary had imagined it. But then, Zachary stood up and casually walked out of the cave.
