Chapter 600 The End of the First Round (1)
The same could be said about Four Seasons denizens. The night had arrived, but the lights were still on in every household. The TV blasted with music, coming from the arena.
The fights of the favorite players' had gone by. Kalzer fought in the 30th match. After he entered the arena, everyone stood up, and screamed loudly.
He fought against some famous Guild Master. However, the fight was very one-sided. Kalzer won with ease. After that, it was Xerxus' fight. The fight ended in record time, 10 seconds was all it took for his opponent to be pixelfied.
Colossus won his fight, Cecilia won her's, King Klaus sniped his opponent to oblivion, and Zachary fought against perhaps the weakest player in the tournament, and won easily. Then, King Michael, Queen Diana, and King Jonathan won their fights.
There were only four players left. Wonderland, Darkside, Wraith, and Temperament.
Gallop... A familiar galloping noises echoed in the arena. Heimdall arrived in a luxurious fashion. The golden particles fell from the ground, and paved his way. After reaching the center of the arena, he raised the horn, and shouted.
''Time for the second-to-last fight!''
The audience erupted in cheers. The name, 'Wraith', brought a mixed reactions from the spectators. The Gods, and Goddesses stayed silent, the Inhumans were curious about him, and the ones from the Four Seasons were excited.
''There are only four fighters left.'' Heimdall pointed at the wide screen, and shouted, ''Time to decide the final match-ups!''
The four names started shuffling in the screen. It was as if some child held a cage, full of cicadas, and was shaking it back and forth, wanting to see what happened to them.
After thirty, very painful, and nervous, seconds, the four names were separated into two sides. The left side showed the match-up for the 48th match, and the right side showed the match-up for the 49th match.
The Left Side - Wonderland Vs. Temperament.
The Right Side - Wraith Vs. Darkside.
After the appearance of the match-ups, the audience turned loud. Especially the ones from Four Seasons. They didn't care much about the 48th match, but the last one was sweet!
Immediately, the Internet was full of match theories. However, everyone was almost one-sidedly favoring the Darkside. The infamous former leader of the League of Assassins, who was far stronger than Wraith. At least, in their minds.
In one of the viewing rooms, Hades chuckled maliciously, ''Haha... is this fate or what?''
Zeus, in his own viewing room, sighed, ''Darkside, legacy carrier of Hades... this must be fate.''
God Shiva looked uninterested as he rolled balls around his palm. They looked like miniature galaxies.
Alice, in her waiting room, looked anxiously at the screen, ''Temperament... he was Darth's duo. He must be strong...''
''But... where is dear brother? His match will be in less than half an hour...''
At the far corner of the arena, Temperament chuckled as he saw the match-up, ''Lucky... if I remember correctly, she is a Priestess. Hehe, free victory.''
Sitting alone, Darkside looked at the match-up with a frown. However, he didn't look that threatened. When he lost to Queen Diana, he was merely a legacy contender. Now, he was the Legacy Carrier of Hades, the Lord of the Underworld!
''Player Wonderland, and Temperament, please arrive in the vicinity of the doors. The match shall begin shortly!'' Heimdall shouted, and rode out of the arena. As the doors closed behind him, he hopped off the horse, and turned to shadowy corner.
A figure stepped out of the shadowy corner. He wore a white mask, and a full-white outfit. His long trench coat flapped while the pair of lappish boots stood firmly on the ground. Even though he was merely 160cm tall, his presence made him feel like a giant.
''Thank you.'' Simo said.
''No problem. I don't think Hades will oppose this either after putting him against the Darkside.''
Simo nodded, and turned around to leave. However, then Heimdall said, ''Aren't you worried that your legacy carrier will lose? Darkside is one of the favorites to win this whole thing.''
''It's time to quench God's arrogance...'' Simo waved his hand, and stepped out of the room.
''Hmm, what did he mean by that?'' Heimdall frowned. However, then an arrogant-looking player, Temperament, stepped out of the hallway, and walked to the door. He was confident of his victory.
Then Heimdall put his lips against the horn, and shouted, ''The match begins!''
The doors opened, and the arena had already changed. This time, it was a volcano. A geyser threw hot lava across the air, heating the air dangerously.
Alice, and Temperament entered the arena. Both started sweating immediately.
''So hot... I will just deal with her in one attack.'' Temperament snapped his fingers, and a tall wooden cane appeared in his hand. It was a Spellcaster Cane. The globe shone in red. He was a fire Spellcaster!
''Fire Snake!'' As he pointed the cane towards Alice, an arm-sized snake made of fire flew out of the globe, and slithered across the air like it was flying.
Alice wiped her sweat, and watched as the fire snake slithered towards her. The corner of her eyes allowed her to see the sea of audience. They looked slightly uninterested in the match-up. Instead, they were more interested in cooling themselves down.
In Four Seasons, Whitelock's exclaimed in shock after the screen displayed Alice.
''Alice?!'' Sophia screamed in a shock. Rarely did anyone see her in such a shocked state.
Isabella covered her mouth in a surprise, ''D-Daughter?''
Marvin's mouth opened wide, ''Wow...''
Mark innocently smiled, ''Why is big sis there?''
In the Snowflower residence, Luna clasped her hands in nervousness while watching the TV screen. Her parents were also shocked to see that there were two Whitelocks competing.
In the arena, the fire snake opened it's jaw, revealing sharp fangs.
'Move... move!' Alice screamed. However, her nervousness froze her body. She wasn't afraid of losing. She was afraid of being weak.
'I don't think the Priestess is a weak class... able to use Divine Magic sounds quite powerful!' She heard Isaac's voice in her mind. He told her what he thought about the class a long time ago, and since then, she tried to prove to him that the class was indeed powerful, just like he said!
The beating heart slowly calmed down. She clasped her hands as the fire snake lunged towards her.
''Divine Magic... A Force!'' Alice opened her beautiful eyes, shining like beautiful pearls found on the seafloor. Then, the fire snake exploded, and Temperament was thrown away as if he had been punched by a powerful force.
Temperament fell through a fire geyser, and under his despairing screams, he turned to ash. As his pixels colored the ash-filled air, a shocked screams echoed from the audience.
''WINNER IS WONDERLAND!''
...
Author's Note: 600th chapter! I can already see the finish line looming in the distance. There would be still several months left before story of Isaac Whitelock, and White Online is finished.
Isaac finally reached a level which seemed a far away goal when I first started this novel. There is still several story lines I haven't concluded, and I will do them after the tournament arc. After those, the endgame arrives.
Thanks everyone for supporting.
