Chapter 395 No breaktime
“Dilan, you’re finally back!” Kathrine’s voice resounded through the large hall as Dilan stretched his stiff body.
Even though his physique was great, it was not easy for it to accept and adjust to the plethora of changes that it had been subjected to so easily.
His stats had increased by more than 350 Units in the last 60 minutes. He required some time to allow his body to digest everything and to reach its peak.
“I’m back, yep,” He merely answered, giving Kathrine a thumbs up.
“Did something bad happen in the last 72 hours, or is everything still like it had been before?” Dilan added in curiosity.
He was pretty sure that a lot had happened in the last 72 hours but the bad news was the most important because he was pretty sure that the good news could wait for a short while.
“One of the Alpha Lords came to the Sanctum with a bunch of other Werewolf packs but it doesn’t look like they planned to attack the Undying group. Their only problem is the Temple of Scorpio and the fact that we protect Victoria and her Hybrid Subordinates…” Kathrine shared her opinion while thinking about more things that had to be reported.
“We haven’t been able to hear lots of news from the base in Shiron but that doesn’t immediately mean that something bad has happened,” She mumbled, rubbing her chin thoughtfully with her right hand as she tilted her head lightly.
This act of hers was kind of cute, which was contrary to everything Dilan had witnessed in the last 72 hours that had felt like an eternity to him.
“Alright, that’s not too bad then. How is everyone progressing? Do we have more Tier-2 Ascenders by now and how many Ascenders are willing to live in the Old Vampire Lord’s Sanctum?” Dilan asked a bunch of questions to which Kathrine could only move her hand as she turned around.
“I think you will get more answers if you take some time to read the reports,” Kathrine laughed lightly before she led him through the Sanctum which had changed a lot.
He saw many Ascenders and a handful of Hybrids doing all kinds of things. However, the number of Werewolves was much higher than anything else. Trying to sense his surroundings to find out how many Werewolves the valley inhabited by now, Dilan figured that they were very high in numbers, and had a big numerical advantage over the Ascenders that only numbered more than 1500 by now.
However, when he used the [Power Appraisal] of his headring, Dilan quickly noticed that there was no need for him to be vigilant.
There may be a few powerful beings in the vicinity but Dilan was on a completely different level than them!
Dilan encountered Sven, Xenia, Yvonne, and a bunch of other people when he reached the office where all the reports were kept.
They greeted him heartily and asked him numerous questions. Yet, instead of answering them one after another, Dilan told them to calm down. He needed some time to read through all the reports, before answering them so he read through one page in a second.
After he advanced to Tier-2, his brain’s capacities increased a lot. At the same time, the higher his Mana stat the easier it would be for him to read and comprehend something.
Dilan’s Mana stat was extremely high, to put it simply, which resulted in him finishing reading through all the reports in a matter of minutes.
“The Werewolves are hiding in the Sanctum while trying to conquer the Temple of Scorpio. That’s why I felt the presence of so many poisoned Werewolves before…” Dilan mumbled while nodding his head in interest.
The Temple of Scorpio seemed to be far more intriguing than he would have expected. There were many Tier-2 Werewolves, who had been injured and poisoned, which indicated that the Temple of Scorpio was somewhat powerful.
Dilan looked forward to his encounter with the Temple of Scorpio, but he would conquer the Blood Monarch’s Sanctum before that nonetheless.
‘I wonder what exactly this Green Magic is. It could be the control of the wind, or magic related to nature. I mean, who the hell names magic after a color?!’ Dilan wondered when he glanced at the Log of the Ancient for a moment.
He wanted to test a few things but now was not the time to do so.
“Congratulations for advancing to Tier-2, Yvonne!” Dilan suddenly said, giving her a thumbs up. Yvonne, who was busy trying to assess the level of his advancement, was startled but accepted the praise with a bitter smile on her face.
“You too…I guess,” She could only reply, not exactly sure how to ask Dilan what the hell he did to make it impossible for her to fathom his true strength.
It was as if a huge wall surrounded Dilan, preventing anyone from perceiving anything about him. The others could hardly sense the devastating power of Yvonne. As for Dilan, he felt like a bottomless pit to everyone daring enough to try to tell just how powerful he had become.
Only 72 hours had passed, which meant that it shouldn’t be possible for Dilan’s strength to increase by leaps and bounds, but that was exactly what happened.
Just when the others wanted to ask him a bunch of questions, Dilan’s ears perked up. He heard something from outside and sighed deeply.
“Seems like my cursed luck is in full swing. I cannot even afford a short break,” He mumbled before he disappeared from everyone’s sight.
Golden sparks appeared in the position Dilan had disappeared to and the others could only look at them with varied emotions on their faces.
“Seems like he has gained a lot…” Sven mumbled quietly after a moment while Yvonne let out a deep sigh.
“And here I thought that I would be able to close the gap between us after completing a Hell-difficulty advancement mission…Is he really human?” Yvonne was frustrated but she clenched her teeth and accepted Dilan’s strength.
She had survived the dangers of a Hell-difficulty advancement mission, even though it was a near brush with death. Her gains were tremendous because her occupation grew a lot stronger and it had been possible for her to upgrade her occupational abilities and gain new ones according to her own desires.
But from the looks of it, Dilan had gained a lot more. Yvonne’s gaze was specifically drawn to the purplish-black dagger that was sheathed in the scabbard, which was fastened to Dilan’s belt.
At this moment, an explosion occurred outside the Sanctum of the Old Vampire Lord and a heavy, eerie pressure weighed down on everyone.
Xenia couldn’t move anymore and her legs gave in, forcing her to the ground. Meanwhile, Sven could barely remain standing, only for Yvonne to shoot outside the Sanctum with all her might.
She quickly reached the gate that led outside the Sanctum, but her steps slowed down drastically, whether she wanted to slow down or not.
The pressure outside the Sanctum was several times higher than inside and Yvonne could only swallow her saliva as she emerged from the Sanctum where she saw a baffling situation happening right in front of her.
Victoria and a few of her Hybrids were surrounded by a bunch of powerful Werewolves. The intention of the Werewolves was obvious but that was also not really what made Yvonne’s brow furrowed in concern.
Shockingly enough, Dilan was standing in front of Victoria with his hands in his pockets. His shoulders were relaxed and his posture showed no signs of tension. In fact, it looked like he was welcoming guests as bloodlust that seemed to weigh tons spread out from him. A small smile appeared on his face as he looked at the werewolves.
‘Is that how strong he has become??’
