Chapter 579 Siegfried
They were strong, and most of their attacks delivered considerable damage, but the numerical disadvantage they faced was simply too much to handle.
Dilan stopped laughing a few seconds after his discovery and he squinted his eyes. His expression turned more serious and he subconsciously tilted his head at the sight of a particular monster and human duo.
A blueish-purple Dragon, shrouded in lightning currents was wreaking havoc with its terrific attacks, while a young man unleashed one powerful attack after another. He was in possession of a lightning affinity and he knew how to use it very well.
"Why do you guys make me recall Kathrine? Is it because of the lightning, or because you fight just as recklessly as this weird girl?" He wondered, not realizing that he spoke out loud, let alone that the corners of his lips curled upward.
The Dragon-human duo killed dozens of opponents with every attack. This was enough for them to gain attention from the strongest Ascenders in the ranks of the Ligrav and Rasian Army.
Several Rasnian burst toward the Dragon-human duo, while the Ligrav used their precise control of the fire element to unleash powerful attacks from the ground.
It was at this moment when Dilan started to join the fray. He activated the gravity domain item ability to decrease the gravitational force that weighed on him.
Afterward, he burst forward, accelerating fast enough to turn invisible in the eyes of most mortal Ascenders. He used his control of the winds to maneuver through the rows of Rasnain and Ligrav without getting noticed, at all.
Only when he had long since rushed through them did some realize that something was off. However, it was only at the moment of realization that their brain registered that they had just been beheaded.
Dilan had brandished Oricalm, in its longsword form, a few times, unleashing simple Destruction slashes that were enhanced by layers of destruction.
The attack was simple but the damage he did was devastating, releasing more than a hundred crescent-shaped destruction slashes within three seconds. That was the time he was required to pass through an Army of several millions of Ascenders and end up on top of the Blue Dragon, without realizing it.
"You have a powerful ally by your side. It\'s rare to witness a Dragon and a human fight side by side. I only know one Dragon, who would be willing…maybe not that voluntarily…to fight side by side with humans!" Dilan spoke out loud, shocking both Dragon and human at the same time.
The Dragon turned its head to his master, just to see a strange human standing next to his master…without the Dragon noticing anything, not even the weight of the strange human.
The Dragon\'s master turned around in shock around, his sky blue eyes widened in terror. He stared at Dilan as if he was a ghost, which was also why he was too distracted to see, let alone deflect the fireballs and wind-based attacks that were about to reach him and his dragon.
Dilan turned his head away from the young man before his expression turned ice-cold. He lifted his hand, and several hundred tiny wind needles, covered with a paper-thin light gray layer, were manifested at that moment.
He released the wind needles and they destroyed everything that obstructed their trajectory, no matter what.
However, that was what Dilan wanted to happen, otherwise, he wouldn\'t have used his Power of Destruction to create a thin layer of it around every single wind needle!
"W-who…are you…W..w…what are you?" The young man asked, his sky blue eyes quivering when he saw what the stranger had just done.
Not only did the stranger appear next to him without any sound but he destroyed the attack of hundreds of Rasnian and Ligrav as if it was nothing noteworthy.
But Dilan didn\'t even think about answering the question of the young man. On the contrary, he could only smile at the young blue-eyed man.
His hair was brown, he had a great physique and his control of mana was exceptional as well.
"How old are you?" Dilan asked instead. He looked at the young man and ignored everything around them.
"I am 27 years old, Sir…" The young man answered.
In response, Dilan\'s smile widened and he began to chuckle lightly.
"I wonder if the Oracle did this intentionally, or if it\'s fate…" He mumbled barely loud enough for the young man to hear.
The Dragon looked at the stranger and his master in confusion.
He would never allow anyone on his back, except his master. Yet, at the sight of the stranger, whose age didn\'t seem to be that much different from his master, the Dragon couldn\'t help but remain still.
A Mythical Creature didn\'t dare to move, let alone say something against a human…when was the last time that something like that happened?
The Lesser Lightning Dragon didn\'t know but he could tell that he would be killed if he were to do something against the stranger.
But that was not the oddest because the Lightning Dragon was certain that it wouldn\'t be the stranger killing him…but their Lord…
However…that didn\'t make any sense?!?
Why would their Lord kill him if he were to do something about a stranger who jumped on his back, without asking for his permission?
The Lord was very understanding in regards to a mythical creatures\' pride. She might have assigned him to form a Unit with a human, but he was given the chance to choose…and he chose the best of the youngest generation!
But why did he feel so weird right now, almost as if he was looking at their Lord instead of a perfectly normal stranger?
"And what\'s your name, my kid?" Dilan asked, smiling gently at the young man before resting his hand on the young man\'s shoulders.
The young man looked at Dilan and his lips moved before he could even think about it.
"Siegfried…Siegfried Mekaz…"
When Dilan heard the young man\'s name he sighed deeply and shook his head.
"Tch!…you should have chosen your mother\'s family name, not the idiot of a father…"
