Chapter 90

In such a situation, lust sprang from their audacity. Already slightly intoxicated, Wang Gongzi staggered to his feet, reaching out towards Chen Ya.

“Miss Chen has spoken, of course, we must listen. Rest assured, Miss Chen, from now on, we and this… brother are all one family.”

Lin Gongzi, in a similar state, also reached out towards Chen Ya.

A flicker of coldness passed through Chen Ya’s eyes. How could she possibly allow these two filthy men to touch her? Yet, things proceeded smoother than expected.

Indeed, the next second, Ye Chen, unable to contain his anger, rushed to Chen Ya’s side. Without uttering a word, his fists flew, hitting both men’s arms with full force.

“Argh~”

“Ahh!”

Two screams, followed by a crisp crack sound, echoed.

Ye Chen didn’t hold back at all. Daring to touch his woman, they were bold indeed. With Lu Li far away in Hangzhou and his Dragon King Hall yet to enter the country, settling scores wasn’t feasible yet, but teaching these two wretches a lesson was well within his means.

Having succeeded in his attack, Ye Chen had no intention of holding back. Before anyone could react, he unleashed a powerful sweeping kick, aiming not just for a sweep but directly at the knees.

“Gah!”

Two more cries of pain and the sound of bones cracking, as well as bodies hitting the ground, were heard. Wang and Lin Gongzi, before the audience could fully grasp the situation, were already writhing in agony on the floor.

A flicker of satisfaction flashed through Ye Chen’s eyes, having vented the frustration bottled up for so long, giving him a refreshing feeling.

Turning back to see Chen Ya’s stunned look, he felt even more triumphant.

“Indeed, no woman can resist the ‘hero saves the beauty’ routine. It’s a bit cliché but effective. I was careless; I should have let those two hit me a few times first. Maybe that would have made Aunt even more sympathetic!”

Pleased with himself, he immediately put on a worried expression: “Aunt, are you okay? Don’t worry, with me here, they can’t do anything to you.”

Hearing Ye Chen’s words, Chen Ya seemed to snap out of her shock, her expression immediately soured.

Ye Chen chuckled inwardly, thinking Chen Ya was just scared. After all, she was a woman, and sometimes they do need a man’s protection.

“Don’t worry, Aunt, they won’t bother you anymore. I won’t let them touch you,” Ye Chen declared earnestly, his attempt at appearing gentlemanly coming off as greasily smug.

Chen Ya looked at Ye Chen with a very unpleasant expression, coldly asking, “Do you know what you’ve done?”

“I just taught a lesson to two scumbags who intended to make a move on you, Aunt. A trivial matter,” Ye Chen replied, feeling Chen Ya’s response was somewhat off from what he expected but assuming she was just shocked.

Chen Ya inwardly laughed, but her face remained grim as she turned and addressed the stunned crowd.

“I’m very sorry for the unpleasant memories this evening’s event may have caused. Due to an urgent matter within the Chen family, I regret to inform you that our banquet will end early.”

Without waiting for Ye Chen’s reaction, she hurriedly left.

Ye Chen felt he had perfectly accomplished what he had set out to do, exactly as expected!

Arrogant, foolish, and disgusting, he carried an inexplicably nauseating air of self-proclaimed handsomeness.

Chen Ya hoped her father could see through Ye Chen’s true face, or else…

A sharp look flashed in her eyes. No matter what, she would deal with Ye Chen, and nothing could change that, not even if it meant breaking ties with her own father.

Even Ye Chen, as foolish as he was, realized something was amiss now, his face showing displeasure. After all he had done for Chen Ya, she hadn’t even given him a smile.

Temporarily setting Ye Chen aside, Chen Ya approached her father, Elder Chen, and recounted the incident, omitting certain details to present a less favorable story.

The truth remained, but without certain elements, it sounded far less appealing.

“Father, I’ve already contacted the hospital. Should we reach out to the Wang and Lin families?” Watching her father’s face darken, Chen Ya felt a sinister satisfaction.

If possible, she preferred not to confront her father. Disappointing him with Ye Chen would be ideal.

“Sigh, Xiao Chen acted rashly this time,” Elder Chen sighed deeply, “Contact those families. We can’t hide this.”

“Yes!” Chen Ya nodded, hesitating before adding, “And Ye Chen…”

“Although he was a bit hasty, it’s rare for him to act on behalf of his aunt. We can’t be too harsh. Let him lay low for a while.”

“Father, are you sure? Ye Chen could bring disaster upon our family!” Chen Ya’s expression darkened slightly.

Elder Chen’s face turned cold, his voice stern, “Xiao Ya!!”

“Ye Chen is your nephew, your sister’s only child. Do you realize what you’re saying?”

“For him to act on my behalf? Father, when have I ever needed someone to act on my behalf? Having been in this circle for so many years, don’t I know how to handle such men? Ye Chen taking matters into his own hands is meddling. He’s either foolish or dumb, and he’s caused such a mess.”

In this circle, if she, Chen Ya, didn’t have the means, she would have been devoured long ago. Let alone Ye Chen playing the hero; she saw him as nothing but a fool.

And he even went as far as breaking those two young masters’ limbs. Though this was indeed the outcome she had envisioned.

In their social stratum, it’s permissible to hit or shout at someone for being rude first; you can even leave them with a bruised face. However, breaking limbs is absolutely not allowed; it’s akin to slapping the families in the face.

Yet, despite this, her father still insisted on protecting Ye Chen, making Chen Ya’s expression turn sour.

“Keeping such a person in the Chen family will only bring us disaster.”

Elder Chen’s expression changed, his voice growing severe, “Xiao Ya!!”

“Ye Chen is your nephew, your sister’s only child. Do you understand what you’re saying?”
