Chapter 268 268-Gong
Chapter 268-Gong
Shocked expressions were etched on the faces of the guards, but their lives were cut short when a massive dragon materialized above them, crushing their bodies beneath its weight.
Civilians and onlookers were gripped by fear as they witnessed the sudden appearance of a dragon. The terror associated with such a mythical creature drove everyone to flee in panic.
Draco, satisfied with the reactions, flapped his wings, radiating powerful energy from his 20-meter-long body. Dave grinned, realizing Draco\'s penchant for showing off. Although Dave had instructed Draco to remain invisible in a cat-sized form, he now saw no reason to hold back. With his own strength, Yudi by his side, and Ronin\'s newfound power rivaling the strongest individuals in the world, why not embrace their arrogance once more?
"How dare you cause trouble here?" a voice boomed.
In the sky, ten individuals exuding the aura of Imperial Kings appeared. They were startled by the sight of the dragon and grew pale upon seeing Gerome\'s headless body.
"Shit," they muttered, well aware of the impending wrath from their lord. They also eyed Yudi warily, unable to gauge his true strength. The concealed level of the young man further added to their uncertainty, but they were confident he couldn\'t surpass them.
Dave surveyed the group and spotted a familiar figure—Venerable Potian. However, Venerable Potian failed to recognize him, likely due to the disguise Dave had employed before. Though all ten individuals stood two realms above him, Dave felt no fear. He was confident in his ability to take down three of them and easily escape.
"Who are you?" one of the men near Venerable Potian demanded, his gaze fixed on Yudi while disregarding Dave. "Hehe, you have no right to question me. Summon your master and pay respect to my master."
Yudi sneered, leaving everyone stunned and seething with anger at the humiliation. To think that they, the Imperial Kings, were being told to summon their master and show deference to this youngster. They began to worry, sensing that he hailed from a powerful family.
While the Royal Family held considerable influence, there were forces that rivaled their might, such as the Alexander Family. The ten Imperial Kings communicated telepathically, deciding to contact their own master for guidance. They didn\'t wish to risk their lives for naught; if the young man did indeed come from a formidable lineage, their leader might not seek revenge on their behalf.
All of them stood there, immobilized and awaiting their masters\' replies. Suddenly, the space rippled, and a middle-aged man appeared, bearing a resemblance to Gerome but with a more developed physique and longer hair.
His face contorted with anger as he surveyed Gerome\'s lifeless body. "Who did this?" he bellowed, radiating palpable fury. His gaze shifted to his ten guardians, and each of them averted their eyes, afraid to meet his glare.
Then, his attention shifted to Dave and Yudi, and his expression changed upon seeing Yudi. His anger transformed into a smile as he approached Yudi, cupping his fist and paying his respects.
"Honorable Yudi, why have you graced my humble domain? If I had known of your arrival, I would have prepared a grand banquet in your honor," he said, his smile unyielding despite his son\'s lifeless body before him. Dave looked on in astonishment, impressed by the old man\'s ability to control his emotions. Clearly, he was an experienced individual.
The ten guardians stood there, stunned, breathing a sigh of relief that they hadn\'t hastily attacked Dave and Yudi. They witnessed the profound respect their master held for Yudi. Though they hadn\'t heard of Yudi before, his master\'s deference suggested his superior strength and higher status.
Yudi glanced at Gong and remarked, "You, brat Gong, have become the ruler of this place? I never expected you to produce such a useless son."
Gong, the ruler of the domain, began sweating profusely, fearing that Yudi could end his life at any moment. He knew Yudi\'s strength, having served as one of the generals under True Saint, and offending him was something he couldn\'t afford. If his influential backers learned that he had offended Yudi, they might use him as a sacrificial pawn for appeasement.
Gong looked at his son\'s lifeless body, mustered his resolve, and kicked it, bowing before Yudi. "I apologize for my worthless son. I don\'t know what he did, but I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive and spare my territory."
It pained him to kick his son\'s lifeless form, but he prioritized his territory and his own life.
Yudi turned his gaze to Dave, and Gong realized Yudi held a respectful attitude toward this young man.
"Honorable Yudi, who is this?" Gong inquired, his heart tightening with fear.
"He is my master\'s heir, and we came here to utilize your teleportation portal. However, your son envied my young master\'s appearance and attacked us," Yudi explained.
Gong was stunned, finally understanding the circumstances surrounding his son\'s demise. Given Dave\'s extraordinary handsomeness, the most striking man Gong had ever seen, it was no surprise his son had targeted him.
He bowed to Dave and offered his apology. "So, it was the young master. It\'s a pleasure to meet you. I apologize for my son\'s actions, and I hope you can find it in your magnanimity to forgive my territory."
Dave smirked oddly and replied, "Aren\'t you going to avenge your son? I killed him, making his head explode like fireworks."
Gong\'s face twitched, but he maintained his smile and responded, "No, no. He deserved to die for offending the young master." He began cursing his son, even in death.
Dave grinned at him and said, "Well, I can forgive you as long as you show your sincerity." Greed flickered in Dave\'s eyes, and his penchant for money began to resurface.
