Chapter 181: Self Challenge -10
Chapter 181: Self Challenge -10
The sudden appearance of the dark creatures sent a chill down Bai Lung’s spine. His heart raced as he quickly assessed the situation.
There were too many of them, and they were closing in fast. With no time to lose, he gathered his courage and prepared himself for battle.
It seems the slimes have noticed him,
The first dark Slime-like creature with a big body wiggling uncontrollably, lunged towards him, its limbs stretching and contorting as it attempted to kill him.
Rather than limb, tentacles would be a correct word, that gushed out of its body.
Swish!
Bai Lung dodged nimbly to the side, narrowly escaping its attack that was directed at Bai Lung’s heart which was beating greatly.
It seems the sound of Bai Lung’s heart is the reason they have attacked him.As the creature charged once more, he launched one of the golden shards at it.
Kriickkkkk~
The shard hit the creature squarely in the chest, causing it to let out a shrill scream that reverberated through the air.
The sound was ear-splittingly loud, sending waves of pain crashing against Bai Lung’s eardrums.
Undeterred, he continued to launch the shards at the advancing slimes which were like backup support.
The shards struck with incredible force, disintegrating the monsters upon impact.
However, the task was proving to be more difficult than expected.
Despite their weakened state, the creatures continued to advance relentlessly, showing no signs of fatigue or pain, not to mention that the shards weren’t even killing them.
But, it seems the shards really does some damage to their dark bodies.
Krickkk~
Krickkk~
Their screams grew louder and more piercing with each passing moment, almost erasing the senses of Bai Lung.
The screams from multiple were severely loud and disturbing.
Bai Lung’s breath came in ragged gasps as he struggled to maintain his focus amidst the chaos, closing his ears with his fingers.
He could feel sweat dripping down his brow, stinging his eyes.
Using his mind, he began to control the shards,
The shards floated here and there at rapid speed, piercing through multiple slimes however, most were completely fine leaving one.
Surprisingly one died… Or vanished into thin air dropping a dark crystal that was broken from the impact of shards.
Seeing this, Bai Lung instantly realized that he needed to break these crystals into their bodies to eliminate them.
Knowing it, his creepy smile widens and the next moment, he was more motivated than ever before.
Swoosh~ swoosh~
Swish~ swish~
The shards moved rapidly breaking the sound barrier, leaving behind a trail of dazzling golden light.
Fwooosh!
Fwoosh!
One by one the number of dark slime like creatures began to drop.
Seeing the effectiveness of his new strategy, Bai Lung redoubled his efforts.
All he had to do was control these shards and make them attack every part of these slimes as the crystal could be anywhere in the body.
Swish~
Swish~
The shards continued to dance around him like deadly projectiles, seeking out their targets with ruthless efficiency.
Not only that but with each crystal destroyed, they were gaining their dazzling glow back.
It seems these shards have the ability to absorb the dark power and convert it to dazzling golden energy.
The remaining creatures began to panic, their dark forms melting away under the relentless assault.
With a final burst of energy, Bai Lung launched a volley of shards directly at the cluster of remaining slimes.
Krickkk~ Krickkkk~
There was a bright flash of light, followed by a chorus of high-pitched screams that echoed throughout the empty forest, with dark dead trees with no leaves.
Fwoosh~
A dark smoke was released through the area, Bai Lung hurriedly covered his eyes and nose and sat in a way covering his ears and head.
It was a dark smoke that could greatly weaken him if they somehow managed to enter his body.
But, it was just his hypothesis, there is no way to prove it unless he, himself inhaled some of it, safe to assume, he didn’t wish to inhale it at all.
As the smoke cleared revealing nothing but ash and broken pieces of dark crystal where the creatures previously stood, Bai Lung nodded his head with a sinister smile.
He can feel the power of these shards increasing based on his ability to see Aura, with this, he wanted to hunt even more monsters.
Why? Because he has nothing else to do.
Originally, he believed his goal was to hunt a single creature but seeing his ability, he thought, killing a single one was most unlikely, which means, he definitely needed to hunt some ‘ Boss-type’ monster.
Suddenly, he recalled a tall towering Dark figure with a powerful presence… But he can’t quite recall where he saw it.
” W-Wait… I can’t quite recall the days I have spent here, ” Bai Lung suddenly uttered while clenching his fist.
As a cultivator, he had a sharp and vivid memory and rarely forgot something, but, now he can’t quite recall the time he spent here.
‘ damn it! It seems after 100 days, my memories will slowly start to fade, ‘ Bai Lung thought to himself.
But it wasn’t time for him to rest…
Huff! Huff!
Panting heavily, Bai Lung surveyed the carnage surrounding him.
Shattered remains of the dark crystals were scattered everywhere.
He couldn’t help but feel a twisted sense of satisfaction at the destruction he had brought, now he had to hurry up and find some monsters to increase the power of his shards so, he could fight powerful monsters head-on and leave this world.
But for now,
His gaze fell upon the broken crystals as their ‘inner workings’ were exposed to his eyes.
With a curious glance, he knelt down and picked one up.
It was surprisingly heavy for its size, and its surface was covered in intricate patterns that seemed to shift and change with every movement.
‘ It’s made with devilish runes, ‘ He said to himself as he recalled these devilish runes from his ‘ Array and rune master level skills ‘
Running his fingers along its rough edges, he couldn’t help but wonder about its purpose.
They were high-level forbidden runes, making Bai Lung realize that this world was destroyed by the devil or taboo cultivator.
