Chapter 1574 Chapter 1567: Heart of a Galaxy (7)
"I get it now!"
The exclamations of awe and wonder resounded on Minor Elysium as the ship, under the escort of five thousand, entered the green zone. The view they came across changed and they were besieged by an explosive shift in the environment. The White Abyss was the epitome of a single color, yet their expectations for the green zone were subverted.
The green zone was not a space engulfed by the green color, horizon unknown, distance incalculable, but a world of transparent liquid resembling water, devoid of any color, yet the feeling of liquid touching their skin and hair was unmistakable.
The Minor Elysium\'s protections were deliberately lowered under Wei Wuyin\'s instructions. It was no different than being underwater. Beneath them was a solid earthen mass that resembled an uncultivated continent, while all around them, long, slithering creatures looking similar to eels of varying sizes and various shades of green swam freely and rapidly. They numbered in the millions, perhaps billions. Some were as little as snails, others were as large as whales.
"They aren\'t eels! Don\'t let them touch you!" Violet Sea shouted to remind others. She was taken aback after noticing that the slithering creatures had gotten through the ship\'s defenses, but she didn\'t hesitate to take action alongside the others. They used their palms, fists, and claws to eliminate every last eel that neared the Minor Elysium.
The escorts outside were already working in tandem, launching coordinated attacks, erecting joint defensive wards, and dealing with any eels that came within a ten-mile range decisively.
"What are those things?" Cao Cuifen asked.
"We call them Greels. If they touch you, they\'ll burrow into your body as a ray of light and exhaust your life force. Don\'t let them touch you under any circumstance!" Crimson Blade announced as he used his fingertips to unleash swathes of sharp mystic power, slicing the greels into the tiniest bits until they were thoroughly eradicated.
Violet Sea kicked out. Her kick was like thunder, sending a sonic wave of booming power forward, leaving the ship unharmed, but shattering tens of thousands of greels with a single move. Her power was devastating.
"I\'ll take care of that one!" Fairy Silence announced as she gazed intently at one that looked as large as a baby whale. She whistled. The greel trembled violently before crumbling into light.
A group was careless and the greel touched a Demi-Mortal Lord. He shrieked painfully and it reverberated loudly in everyone\'s ears, sounding like the death throes of someone being mercilessly drained. Yue Songli flinched. The greel had transformed into green light and silently burrowed itself into the Demi-Mortal Lord\'s ears, eyes, mouth, nose, genitalia, and anus. Every single orifice was entered. The sight was enough to render anyone speechless.
They watched as his skin withered and his eyes dried out, sinking into his skull. The life aura he was exuding began to rapidly age at a pace that resembled a single second was equivalent to ten thousand years. The Demi-Mortal Lord lasted a second and a half before his life aura dissipated entirely.
A desiccated corpse remained.
Watching this unfold, some of the escorts were fearful while the Abyssal Overlords kept working fiercely, keeping the greels at bay while avoiding damaging the ship. The greels did nothing to the ship, seemingly only rushing toward living things, and when they touched the ship, they slid across it harmlessly until they found another target in their line of sight.
Fortunately for him, while a desiccated corpse would typically be death for mortals, an Ascended being was far beyond mortal limits, and killing them by draining their body of lifespan was extremely difficult. With his Mystic Soul and Mystic Core still active, his Sea of Consciousness, Mind\'s Eye, and Soul were tethered, seeking to escape and find salvation among the others.
Unfortunately for him, the green zone was not safe. The entire White Abyss exuded a type of chaotic pressure that disrupted spiritual properties such as Spiritual Sense and Spiritual Strength. The moment he sought refuge by abandoning his body, the chaotic pressure enveloped him as a few members had thoughts of pity and frustration.
Without his physical body to support him, the Mystic Core was already crumbling, including everything that was contained within.
Yue Songli\'s eyes watched this unfold and her heart pounded. She gripped Wei Wuyin\'s arm that was holding her waist. However, her discomfort was immediately alleviated as the scene of the Highlord on the verge of perishing began to rapidly revert.
A terrifying authority of time exerted itself, and the Highlord\'s agonizing state was regressed as if they watched it all unfold on rewind. When he returned, his lifespan returned with him, and the Highlord began sweating bullets as he had felt death encroach upon him. The others immediately rushed to aid him, preventing other greels from touching the Highlord.
This caused every one of them to redouble their efforts, and those ignorant of what would happen upon touching the greels, especially the males of the group, were enlightened and held nothing back to prevent that outcome.
The fighting began to grow incredibly fierce.
Meanwhile, Wei Wuyin whispered into Yue Songli\'s ear. Whatever he said caused her eyes to brighten with realization, her anxiety melting away. She pursed her lips in a pout, "You could have just told me."
Wei Wuyin laughed. "Seeing it yourself is a far better experience, and ruining your cute reaction wasn\'t worth it. As for these so-called Greels, those things are precious materials. To think everyone is so careless in ruining such a blessed opportunity."
Those words were said openly, and every last person was paying extreme attention to Wei Wuyin, so when he said that, the four Abyssal Overlords immediately restrained their destruction and looked at him.
"What? World-Saint Neo-Dawn, is there something special about these greels?" After Wei Wuyin revealed his Minor Authority of Time, their reverence reached an absolute limit, and they no longer considered him a True Sage but an existence beyond the Mystic Ascendant Realm! This was genuinely a sightseeing expedition! And while this still felt unreal, the feats and events thus far only supported that Wei Wuyin was here without the slightest sense of urgency.
"Firstly, greels is such a simple name for them. Let\'s see," Wei Wuyin hugged Yue Songli closer, whispering into her ear: "Hold out your hand. Call for them using your innate Spatial Resonance, and expel a ripple. When you do, don\'t hold anything back."
Yue Songli\'s eyes exuded a curious light as she did as instructed. She held out her hand and expelled a spatial ripple. The liquid rippled instantly. Suddenly, the greels that were flying wildly about began to redirect their attention toward Yue Songli. They approached madly, like fishes drawn to a lure or a moth to a flame.
Her heart tightened a little, images of that Highlord\'s near-death flashed in her mind. Wei Wuyin gently held out her hand. "I\'m here."
Those two words caused her to instantly settle down as her confidence roared. The greels neared and the others didn\'t stop them from entering the ship. A small one reached her first, roughly the size of a baby fist, and it entered her hand. While she wasn\'t anxious or fearful, her body couldn\'t help but tense.
Then, a warmth flowed throughout her body.
"Mn~!" A moan so stimulating that men might pitch tents almost instantly upon hearing it left Yue Songli\'s lips. She was immediately embarrassed as her cheeks became beet-red. The warmth was like a heavenly tonic toward her spatial resonance, elevating the quality of her innate spatial energies and affinity by a bit.
It was only after she looked at the crowd\'s faces that she realized no one had heard her voice or seen her lovely, sensual expression as not the slightest awkward look or arousal on anyone\'s expression. Clearly, her embarrassment was unwarranted. She felt angry, knowing that Wei Wuyin hadn\'t warned her of this absurdly pleasing feeling on purpose.
Moreover, he chuckled in rowdy amusement and this only made her more angry. "Only I can hear that lovely musical note of yours," Wei Wuyin whispered again in a teasing tone causing Yue Songli to lower her head to her ample chest, her cheeks growing a few shades redder.
"What was that?!" Grey Rose asked in shock. In her eyes, due to the lack of Spiritual Sense, all they observed was Yue Songli absorbing the greel without any harm to her life force. Usually, greels exhausted one\'s life force until their body ran out at a disgusting speed, but Yue Songli had taken. Moreover, the greel melted into her skin, not burrow into her orifices.
"An opportunity," Wei Wuyin had long since understood that the heavens often layered extreme dangers with extraordinary opportunities, and almost everything can be profitable if handled by the right person. The White Abyss was perfect for him.
"Follow my earlier instructions and lure the greels in. Don\'t resist. Oh! And don\'t allow any of the greels you\'ve attacked before to touch you. They will kill you," Wei Wuyin stated as he glanced at Su Mei. She took the lead and reached the edge of the ship, sending out a ripple of her Spatial Resonance. A greel swam toward her and lightly touched her hand before melting away, and her expression subtly flushed as she felt what Yue Songli had felt.
Her taking the lead allowed others to realize that this was indeed an opportunity! The Ascendants, Wei Si, Qing Qiumu, and the others excitedly began to replicate what they had. The greels began to swim toward them calmly, absorbed with ease, and Young Master Shang moaned so loudly that everyone loved his way, many of them felt shivers down their spines as his legs were unsteady.
...
...
The Abyssal Overlords were shaken to their core. All these years...they fought these green eel-like creatures until they cleared a sufficient region and set up an established array to ward them off. Now, they just realized that these things were...treasures...
It was hard to describe the feeling.
\'Feeling stupid\' was probably the best two-word description.
However, Wei Wuyin didn\'t blame them. Stellar Rain was often considered a calamity and feared by many, but those with the right capabilities and knowledge could capture them and turn them into life-saving pellets or talismans.
"These greels, such a simple name, are instinctual creatures of spatial energy. They\'re not exhausting your life force, they are \'shifting\' it away. They act aggressively against threats and non-threateningly to things that don\'t target them, such as inanimate objects like the Minor Elysium. Or, if you lure them in properly, they simply merge with the \'nest\' in your body."
Wei Wuyin then kissed Yue Songli\'s cheek, giving her another instruction and the blushing Yue Songli excitedly wanted to test it out, so she unleashed a Spatial Art that resembled a Spatial Prison. The walls had a faint greenish tint and there were signs of little greels within. Her eyes brightened immediately.
"The greels will eventually turn transparent, and without an Ocular Spell that can see through the mysteries of space, one wouldn\'t be able to see them, but these things can assist you in Spatial-type Arts, Spells, and basic abilities. When you get out of her, even spatially shifting will be easier. You\'ll be able to traverse further, faster, and smoother than before." After detailing the effects of these greels, Wei Wuyin waved his hand.
All the greels that were crushed or destroyed reappeared.
"Don\'t take action until I tell you to," Wei Wuyin initially had other plans when inviting these four Abyssal Overlords here, asking them to be his guide, but after seeing the truth of the White Abyss, he decided not to slaughter all but Violet Sea and turn them into Soldiers of War by relying on environmental dangers to exhaust them.
The sinister nature of his original intent was fueled by his desire to seize control over the White Abyssal Galaxy, but after learning about the heart of the galaxy and its origins, he had other plans.
"Vajarn, come here." Wei Wuyin beckoned toward the human World Emperor that he had met first. Vajarn was taken aback, but he didn\'t dare to delay and flew over under the protection of those around him. When he arrived aboard the Minor Elysium, Wei Wuyin nodded.
"You can consider our first meeting as fate, so I\'ll give you an opportunity. Be my representative in the White Abyssal Galaxy, handling any matters I give you. Are you willing?" Wei Wuyin asked with a majestic flare in his tone infused with the Minor Imperial Law.
"..." Vajarn was in disbelief. He had the urge to ask: "Me?" But he held it back as he swallowed a wad of saliva, glancing at the Abyssal Overlords, finding Violet Sea, who gave him a smile of encouragement. Since Wei Wuyin had chosen Vajarn, she had no objections.
"Yes!" Vajarn shouted so loudly that thunder would pale in comparison. He was simply unable to hide his excitement and anxiety, wanting to hurriedly accept!
"Good, then I\'ll be honest: Mystic Lords of the White Abyssal Galaxy, I\'ve decided to assist Violet Sea in becoming a True Sage and eventually lead the White Abyssal Galaxy."
...!!! Grey Rose, Crimson Blade, and Fairy Silence all reeled at the announcement. If it was before, they might not put extraordinary emphasis on such a statement, but after everything they had just seen, they were still experiencing, they didn\'t doubt it at all.
Violet Sea\'s eyes brightened. She didn\'t hide her bashful expression or loving eyes as she gazed at Wei Wuyin, doing so purposefully, allowing those Abyssal Overlords and the keen-eyed Ascended beings to realize that Violet Sea and Wei Wuyin\'s relationship had become far deeper than they expected. A single move and she announced herself as Wei Wuyin\'s woman in their minds!
Crimson Blade was speechless. These women truly knew how to hug a golden thigh!
Fairy Silence clenched her fists, "World-Saint Neo-Dawn, while I\'m sure you\'ve made your choice with careful consideration, I urge you to reconsider. I\'m the most-" The oldest Abyssal was about to plead her case, but Wei Wuyin halted her midway.
"I\'m not finished. The White Abyssal Galaxy will be a Galactic Vessel State of my Neo-Dawn Empire. I\'m willing to assist all four of you into reaching the True Sage Phase if you\'re fortunate and talented enough to do so."
"..." Galactic Vessel State! A galaxy that was under the control of another force! The idea wasn\'t foreign to them, but dominating an entire galaxy was absurdly difficult. However, the prospect of reaching the True Sage was far too alluring.
Moreover, if they refused, Mystic Lord Violet Sea would be cultivated into a True Sage eventually, conquer the entire galaxy, and likely become a vessel state by marriage or something! They didn\'t really have a choice!
Resist? Resist how?!
Since Wei Wuyin had already shown a fraction of his astonishing power, they were already mentally defeated, unable to even discern his cultivation base. But none of that mattered! Because he was a Worldly Saint Alchemist who could confidently declare the ascension of a True Sage! If someone told them he didn\'t have an Alchemic Knight or Dao Protector at that level, they would laugh and spit in their face for being fools.
And refusal would only lead to them dying in the White Abyss!
Violet Sea was visibly excited. She was the third strongest in the White Abyssal Galaxy, and she was bound to lead any Galactic Vessel State by riding Wei Wuyin\'s lap in more ways than one. She wanted them to refuse.
Kill them all!
For a single human to decide the fate of a galaxy ruled by the Abyssal Race felt absurd, but they couldn\'t do anything about it!
Seeing Wei Wuyin change the topic, Yue Songli was equally as excited as Violet Sea by this. Witnessing Wei Wuyin conquering with persuasive words alone was amazing.
"I agree," Grey Rose suddenly exclaimed. She didn\'t hesitate for longer than a second.
The expressions of Crimson Blade and Fairy Silence changed. Wei Wuyin had an empire! And he was trying to conquer them in a single move! Moreover, two of the Abyssal Overlords already sided with him. Fortunately, they were the weakest of the two.
Agreeing to rule the White Abyssal Galaxy and agreeing to rule while acting as a Galactic Vessel State under the Neo-Dawn Empire were two very different things! Even Fairy Silence had some hesitation. What if Wei Wuyin treated the Abyssals like they did humans? With neglect and the purpose of labor or servants?
How could Violet Sea agree so recklessly?!
What if he enslaved them all?
But then again...they would be True Sages...maybe? So...
They grew confused and uncertain.
Wei Wuyin flatly stated, "I abhor discrimination and racial disparities. I won\'t treat the Abyssal Race unfairly, nor any differently than I treat beasts, demons, or humans," Wei Wuyin stated as Qing Qiumu\'s gaze toward him shone. She knew first-hand that this was the truth!
They all did!
The escorts could only listen. They didn\'t have the right to intervene here, but the humans were silently excited upon hearing that Wei Wuyin wanted to conquer the galaxy under his empire. A human-led Empire! Their fates would be better, the legacies more abundant, and their futures far brighter.
"..." Fairy Silence and Crimson Blade glanced at each other.
After a long while, Fairy Silence smiled. "Can you allow the Mystic Lord among us four, the first to become a True Sage, to lead the White Abyssal Galaxy for the next ten thousand years?"
OH! The crowd knew that she had agreed!
"I can agree with that," Crimson Blade relented under such a concession.
"Sure," Wei Wuyin nodded.
Sighs of relief resounded in many hearts, fearful that Wei Wuyin might have acted against them.
Ming Shufeng was awed. Did Wei Wuyin just...conquer a galaxy? By just stating his intentions while holding a beauty in his arms?!
She felt her entire worldview shift!
-----
Author\'s Note: Wei Wuyin was going to trim the fat, take over the galaxy as a shadow ruler, and just said nah. I\'ll take all of you. In broad daylight.
