地震时怎样保护自己

Chapter 9 - 9 Charging Items (1)

Qin Zhiyou seemed to have just stepped out of a shower, clad only in a bath towel. Upon seeing her return, he didn’t say anything. In his deep, dark eyes seemed to lurk a sword, as if intending to pierce through the depths of her heart, leaving nowhere to hide.

“You’re back?” His voice rose at the end, framing the statement as a question instead.

Why had he come back? Was he dissatisfied with the extra money that was added last night, or was it because he wanted to take out his anger on Liu Yiyi today? How much of the phone call had he heard?

Qin Zhiyou paid her no attention. After a quick glance, he lost interest and picked up a small towel to dry his hair. The muscular lines on his long, powerful legs were well-defined, his chest solid without an ounce of excess fat, an eight-pack formed by his clearly defined abdominal muscles. It was obvious that he worked out regularly. His slightly long fringe dripped water onto his full forehead and not just the forehead, beads of water clung to his skin, leaving a patch of wetness on the floor where he stood.

Lu Weixi was taken aback for a moment. Even though they had been married for five years and had quite a few encounters, she rarely confronted his bare body. She lowered her gaze slightly. “I’ll get you a larger towel.”

The bathrobe was in the closet behind him. Lu Webxi took two steps forward along the wall, only to be stopped by a lean arm.

Qin Zhiyou leaned his right arm against the wall, his body tilted in front of her. Lu Weixi pursed her lips and turned to walk in the other direction, but he stretched out his left arm to block her path.

Qin Zhiyou tilted his head, his devilish eyes slightly lifted. Even though his face was beaming with a jolly smile, the words he spoke were heinous. “Embarrassed to look at me? Is there a part of my body you haven’t seen yet?”

Lu Weixi didn’t get angry; she just calmly raised her head, looked at Qin Zhiyou’s smirking face, and slowly said, “If you don’t need it, I’ll leave first.”

Qin Zhiyou quietly watched her for a while, his robust upper body slightly leaned down towards her. “You’re being unusually considerate today; is this because you want more money? Does the extra fifty-thousand from yesterday cover things like helping me bathe?”

Lu Weixi furrowed her brows, if it weren’t for Qin Zhiyou speaking, she would have slapped him long ago. But thinking of her mother’s monthly medical expenses of one hundred and twenty thousand, the fifty-thousand she just borrowed from Xue Feifei, and the boss’s furious shout at the company stating, “If you mess up another deal, you’re out,” she restrained herself.

She inhaled deeply, kept a smile on her face, and gently explained in the softest tone, “Taking care of a husband is a wife’s duty. Of course, if you could pay me a bit more, that’d be even better…”

As soon as she finished speaking, Qin Zhiyou immediately withdrew his arm from the wall, seriously pulled off the towel around his waist, and dressed himself in his pajamas. “How could I bother you with such trivialities, especially when it costs me extra?”

Lu Weixi almost choked on her frustration. Was the young master, Qin, short on money? Not to mention, Liu Yiyi’s apartment was most likely a gift from him.

Fortunately, after changing into his pajamas, Qin Zhiyou didn’t bother her any longer, and he didn’t inquire about what happened that day. He went directly into the study next door.

It was one o’clock in the morning.

Lu Weixi came out of the bathroom after taking a shower, the light in the bedroom was off. As she was drying her hair while stepping out, just as she was removing her bath towel, she suddenly realized that Qin Zhiyou was leaning against the head of the bed, his eyes fixated on her without a blink.
