Chapter 468: 468: Shadow Circus Troupe

In just a short while, a rough foundation was built.

“Master, because we don’t have special building blueprints, we can only build the most basic Magic Tower. Its effects may not be very significant,” the housekeeper George said nervously.

“Building blueprints for the Magic Tower?” Song Jian was taken aback for a moment, but he quickly shook his head. There were various types of building blueprints in the game with many ways to obtain them. Furthermore, many blueprints were unique, so many players’ territories had a variety of styles. One notable example was Luo Tianyu’s military camp. Song Jian believed that Luo Tianyu’s safe house was built into a military camp model because he acquired a special building blueprint.

“As long as it doesn’t affect the upgrade of Manor Castle, it’s fine,” Song Jian said indifferently.

The Magic Tower was a special building in the territory, and the material, the Magic Source Stone, was incredibly precious. Song Jian knew that a single Magic Tower could make players trying to upgrade their safe houses desperate. As for the special building blueprints of the Magic Tower, they were rare treasures. Even if they appeared in the auction house, Song Jian wouldn’t be able to afford them, let alone other players.

Even if someone had a special building blueprint for the Magic Tower, constructing it would probably be very difficult, at least ten times harder than building an ordinary Magic Tower.

If it slowed down the safe house upgrade, Song Jian would rather not go through the trouble.

Hearing that Song Jian had no complaints, George finally breathed a sigh of relief. In his heart, the safe house upgrade was the top priority, so he immediately began building the Magic Tower after Song Jian took out the Magic Source Stone.

“Master, the Magic Tower will take three working days to build. Once it’s completed, should we upgrade the Manor Castle immediately?” housekeeper George asked.            h

“Upgrade it right away!” Song Jian nodded in agreement.

Song Jian delegated many safe house authorities to George, but George still sought Song Jian’s opinion on important matters.

George nodded and left.

Song Jian glanced at the New Media Library and then at the Book of the Abyss in his hand, letting out a sigh.

The task of the Cecilia Priest had been hanging on him and had never shown ‘failure’, but Song Jian couldn’t return the Book of the Abyss to the library as a task item anymore.

After all, the Book of the Abyss was now a Dark Gold Quality equipment. Cecilia would not be generous enough to give Song Jian the Dark Gold Quality equipment as a task reward.

“I wonder how my follower Ya is doing now!” Song Jian glanced at the follower interface, where both “Ya” and “Wallace” were in an unsummonable state.

Song Jian looked at his level and then at a black pillar of smoke in the distance. “If I can’t fight large Abyss Territories, can I still fight small Abyss Demon Caves?” Song Jian thought to himself.

As Song Jian was about to head towards the nearest Abyss Demon Cave, a noisy sound suddenly erupted from the edge of his territory.

Song Jian frowned and looked in that direction, only to see a team of dozens of people slowly approaching his territory.

This team was composed of more than ten large caravans pulled by huge, but gentle Kodo beasts. The drivers of the caravans had weather-beaten faces and exhaustion written all over them.

A few performers dressed as clowns were playing with rattle drums, making pleasant music while singing and dancing, attracting a crowd of onlookers.

“It seems like a circus troupe?” Song Jian’s eyes narrowed as he noticed large cages at the back of the caravan, holding tigers, lions, bears, and other beasts. These animals had lost their ferocity and lay lazily in their cages. Even when poked by children with sticks, they would just lazily brush them away without getting angry.

The team stopped at the edge of Song Jian’s territory, where a large area was just grassland without any buildings.

As soon as the caravan stopped, several people jumped off and began unloading things and setting up tents.

“Are they crazy? In this apocalyptic-themed game, there’s a circus troupe wandering around performing shows? Aren’t they afraid of being swallowed by monsters in the wild?” Song Jian was dumbfounded, feeling like everything happening in front of him was like an illusion.

All he could confirm now was that everyone in the circus troupe was an NPC in the game, and there were no players present.

At that moment, a beastman with a full-faced beard jumped off one of the caravans. This beastman seemed very old, with a wrinkled face and a broken tusk protruding from his mouth.

Song Jian couldn’t sense any aggressive aura from this beastman, who seemed harmless with a friendly smile on his face.

However, Song Jian didn’t dare to underestimate him, because this beastman was at a higher level than him!

“Level 30,1 wonder if he’s passed the first-class Combat Power assessment,” Song Jian thought to himself.

When Song Jian looked at the members of the circus troupe again, he was even more shocked. Over half of them had reached level 30.

Several performers painted as clowns and making funny expressions were putting on a show for the oncoming crowd. These “clowns” were actually first- class thieves by profession.

“These people… they all have the ability to level my territory!” Beads of sweat formed on Song Jian’s forehead.

Seeing Song Jian, the elderly beastman’s eyes lit up, and he quickly approached. He took off his worn-out cowboy hat and bowed respectfully to Song Jian, saying, “Honorable lord, I am Hakus Stanley from the Northern Wastelands, offering my sincerest blessings to you!”

Song Jian stared at the beastman in front of him and asked, “Who are you and why have you come to my territory?”

“Honorable lord!” The beastman Hakus had a flattering smile on his face, not looking down on Song Jian even though his level was much lower, and his tone was humble: “We are a wandering circus troupe, the Shadow Circus Troupe, originally planning to perform in the City of Sin, but as we passed by, we wanted to rest here for a while and provide some interesting shows for your people!”

“Shadow Circus Troupe?” Song Jian looked at the people who were busily setting up tents, his face thoughtful.
