Chapter 722: Silver Immortal Asylum!
Chapter 722: Silver Immortal Asylum!
As for Divine Dawn… there was hope if she was ready to sacrifice herself… But Yun Xiao didn't even consider this route an option.
He coughed lightly, his mind drifting to Thunder Emissary Cao's formidable Eighteen Peaks Formation.
"Bring over the Azure Rain Sword Vessel."
As Divine Dawn dealt with the reconstruction of the Heavenly Palace, Yun Xiao swiftly moved to the next phase.
Soon, the Azure Rain Sword Vessel descended from the heavens, landing before the ruins of the Taiwei Imperial Palace.
Once the hatch opened, Yun Xiao leapt inside, only to find Yue Yin and Gu Suwan standing guard like twin deities at the doorway, their faces pale and eyes trembling with barely contained fear.
"What’s the matter? Has the killing of the White Emperor reduced you to this state?" Yun Xiao asked, puzzled.
"We…" They bowed deeply, their voices quivering, unable to speak.Yun Xiao understood their remorse and fear. With things having come this far, there was little left to say.
"Go and see if there's anything you can still help with. The celestial officers are nearly all dead, and chaos reigns. We need every person available."
"Understood."
Perhaps keeping busy was the only way they could fend off the crushing pressure inside.
After they departed, within the confines of the Azure Rain Sword Vessel, Yun Xiao divided into three.
To his left, a silver torrent coalesced into a five-and-a-half-foot-tall figure with silver hair, silver eyes, and fox ears—a youth of such beauty he could be mistaken for a maiden.
The bloodline of the Nian and Yaksha Ancestor had fully transferred into his Divine Desolation Physique. When the crimson and dull yellow eyes of this body double opened, the docile little fox transformed in an instant into a fierce calamity-bearing demon.
"Such a formidable demon form, and it's merely your body double…"
The Yaksha Ancestor, already on the brink of a mental collapse, felt the urge to end it all right there.
Then it saw something else: blood seemed to pour from Yun Xiao’s body, forming a crimson devil dragon that entered a crystal coffin. Inside, a withered corpse began to inflate slowly, its skin turning plump, rosy, and radiantly alive with explosive potential.
"What's this?"
The Yaksha Ancestor hadn't expected Yun Xiao to also split his devilish power. This was the force that had subdued it!
It longed to stare longer, but then Yun Xiao had Moon Fairy step out of the Azure Rain Sword Vessel.
"What on earth is your origin!" the Yaksha Ancestor snarled at Moon Fairy, pressing the question like a blade to his forehead.
"Hey upstairs, stop your hollering. I haven't figured it out myself after all this time, and he's not going to tell you," the Nian jeered with a scoff.
"Useless mutt, get lost!" the Yaksha Ancestor growled back ferociously.
"You eyebrow-perched fool, stop playing dumb," the Nian retorted, chuckling dismissively.
"You’re asking for death!"
The situation was tense; it looked like Moon Fairy's eyes were about to brawl right on his face, creating a scene of utter chaos.
"Enough from all of you."
His face tightened, and he pressed back the four raging eyes.
Then, Moon Fairy moved toward two shadows—one large, one small—ahead of him.
The smaller shadow, much tinier than Moon Fairy, wore twin ponytails and a maid outfit, her eyes a piercing ice blue—it was Pale Revenant. The taller figure, legs longer than the little maid herself, had long hair that fell to her waist and wore a white dress slit at the side, her eyes moist and deep.
Moon Fairy wasn't really there for them, but for what they guarded—the Immortal Asylum.
It was a black staff, 18 segments long with each segment looking like a tiny window. It stood quietly planted in the earth. The top two segments had holes, from which dust and smoke seeped, looking eerily hollow, while the lower 16 segments displayed runes resembling script, sealing the sins within.
Despite this, Moon Fairy could still feel the oppressive aura emanating from it.
He took a deep breath, his palm grasping the ancient black Immortal Asylum, and attempted to lift it.
"So heavy..." Moon Fairy frowned.
The fact that the White Emperor and Yaksha Ancestor had turned this massive Immortal Asylum into a mere staff suggested it had the potential to be a weapon.
But why could the White Emperor wield it, yet he, having absorbed the bloodline of the Yaksha Ancestor, could not?
"Yaksha Ancestor," Moon Fairy closed his eyes, his voice hollow, "resolve my doubt."
The Yaksha Ancestor laughed coldly, clearly unwilling to respond.
"You already possess two lines of Sin bloodlines; with your blood, it should be simple enough to wield the Immortal Asylum," the Nian suddenly spoke up.
At this, the Yaksha Ancestor burst into fury, cursing, "Stupid mutt, I can't believe you're licking his boots! Did you really get domesticated that quickly!?"
The Nian chuckled with a sneer. "Hurhur. It's called carrot and stick, and I've had enough of the stick."
Moon Fairy also smiled. Before, it had only been the Nian, a creature both proud and coy, revealing nothing. Even Yun Xiao could not tame it.
But now, burdened with added sins, a rivalry had ignited, and the Nian seemed eager to maintain its lead.
As long as they were at odds, Moon Fairy continued to benefit. For instance, as they bickered now, Moon Fairy tapped a claw, piercing his skin slightly, and the silvery blood of his Divine Desolation Physique seeped onto the black Immortal Asylum.
With a sizzling sound, the Immortal Asylum absorbed the silver blood, forging a new bond with Moon Fairy. During the process, the staff transformed into a gleaming silver color, far more elegant and appealing than before.
With a mighty effort, Moon Fairy hoisted the transformed Immortal Asylum.
"Even though it remains heavy to foes, I can now wield it with ease..."
He swung the silver Immortal Asylum, feeling its essence and traits, as if it were a boundless world of sin.
"With this, once the body double returns to me, I can wield the Immortal Asylum with impact. But, what about transforming?"
After all, this body double was a demon, and its true strength lay in its transformed state.
For Moon Fairy himself, wielding the silver Immortal Asylum in human form seemed a waste.
So, with his own blood, he slowly tuned into the changes of the Immortal Asylum, which felt like unlocking the outermost layer of the staff, touching upon part of its essence.
"It's as if it has life, understanding my thoughts..." Moon Fairy took a deep breath.
Between the Great Mother and Pale Revenant, he bowed to the ground, morphing into a six-tailed silver demon fox. Its number of tails did not seem particularly gifted, but its gaze, fur, and inner essence were truly formidable in the society of demons.
"Immortal Asylum!"
Transformed into a fox, Moon Fairy startlingly noticed the Immortal Asylum separating into segments.
It split into 18 small silver rods!
These rods then melted into 18 silver droplets, which began to liquefy and then astonishingly flew toward Moon Fairy's claws!
Each of his four limbs boasted four claws—sixteen in total.
Of the eighteen droplets, sixteen fused onto his claws, like fitting gloves over fists, each claw sheathed in the Immortal Asylum's quicksilver, becoming sharper, more durable, and penetrating deep into the bone!
The two largest drops of silver fused into Moon Fairy's upper canines, transforming them into sword-like fangs that extended past his lips, gleaming with silver light, bristling with a killing intent.
He had become, in every sense, a saber-toothed fox.
"Damn..." Moon Fairy hadn't anticipated that the Immortal Asylum could adapt so intelligently. In human form, it was a staff; in beast form, it fortified his claws and fangs, a feat not even the most barren forges could achieve.
The harder the Immortal Asylum, the sharper his claws and fangs became.
With a few casual clicks, Moon Fairy picked up a celestial weapon from the ground that had yet to be cleaned up. Under his claws, the heavy hammer-like weapon split open as easily as tofu.
"No wonder it's the Immortal Asylum."
Though its secrets remained a mystery, at the very least, it was now a weapon in his arsenal!
When the six-tailed demon fox showed its claws and fangs, even the Great Mother and Pale Revenant beside him felt a tremendous pressure. Especially the Great Mother, her emotions were complex. She had once devoured Moon Fairy, never guessing he was actually Yun Xiao, that freak of the heavenly dao himself.
At that moment, she dared not meet Moon Fairy's gaze.
Then, as Moon Fairy transformed back into human form, the Immortal Asylum on his claws also condensed back into a staff.
"Exhilarating!"
After chasing the Immortal Asylum for so long, it was finally his. It blessed Moon Fairy and, by extension, Yun Xiao himself. He basked in the joy of obtaining new loot.
"My little maid, there are still many treasures left to gather; you go quickly," Moon Fairy instructed the young girl.
"Yes, Immortal Yun." Pale Revenant, who had always stayed by Moon Fairy's side in the mortal realm, was accustomed to knowing the demon fox as Yun Xiao himself.
The Great Mother, on the other hand, was still adjusting. So, facing this benefactor, she was noticeably nervous. As Pale Revenant departed, she quickly said, "I'm very sorry about earlier."
Moon Fairy lifted his head, somewhat laboriously looking at her smooth chin, and asked curiously, "I've heard that in the past, after making love, you would devour men on the spot?"
The Great Mother paused, then shook her head. "I only have an appetite; I take no pleasure in the flesh. The world misunderstands me."
