Immortal of the Ages

Chapter 765: Desolate Street!

With one last look towards the Colonel, the six-tailed silver fox plunged into the Soul Refining Cauldron.

BOOM! The brutal demons roared and howled as they pursued!

The Soul Refining Cauldron splashed with desolation oil.

Inside the cauldron, the oil was too thick to see through, and above, the Colonel and her troops could only see explosions of smoke and bubbles, punctuated by dreadful screams.

There was no blood in that cauldron, but every so often, chunks of crispy fried corpses surfaced, bereft of any semblance to a fox's limb.

BOOM! A fierce battle of roars and life-or-death struggles raged within the cauldron.

As long as the fight raged on, it meant Moon Fairy was not yet defeated!

The eyes of the Desolation Corps, initially gleeful, gradually turned silent and suffocated as they fought.

With each deep-fried nugget that surfaced, their faces grew darker, and as time passed, the faces of the remaining 900 soldiers were pale and drawn.

"Colonel, did you foresee from the start that this fox would be so ferocious?" a trembling voice asked.

"What do you think?" The Colonel replied with a faint smile.

"Your wisdom is unparalleled! Your vision, grand!" some of the troops praised with trembling voices.

But others warned, "Don’t celebrate too soon. That fox might already be dead, or if not dead, then grievously wounded!"

The Colonel heard all these remarks as she continued to stand with arms folded amidst swirling mists, unseen by many. Yet her face grew increasingly troubled.

It was a feeling of being overpowered.

This fox, whom she had underestimated, was continuously challenging her boundaries with each kill. Her nature was to control everything, but this fox, what was it about this creature?

"Colonel!"

After a brief time, the tumult in the cauldron subsided, and a horribly disfigured demon burst forth, his face a picture of misery as it beseeched the Colonel for mercy!

However, he didn’t even have a chance to cry for help before his body was brutally torn in half!

With a splashing sound, a silver-haired youth climbed out from the Soul Refining Cauldron, his body smeared with blood. He casually dusted off his hands as if he had done something trivial.

The most chilling part was his face—he had six eyes!

Besides the silver pupils in the middle, there was a pair of blood-red eyes above and a pair of dull yellow eyes below!

The combination of six eyes was eerie, cold, brutal, and instilled a deep-seated fear…

“Any more challengers?” The silver-haired youth stretched, his joints cracking with the sound that seemed to house the ferocity of tigers and leopards.

When he spoke those words, the heavens above fell into a dead silence. The reactions of the remaining Desolation Corps troops who averted their gazes told the whole story. They were all subdued!

Seeing this, the youth suddenly flashed a sunny smile, revealing harmless little canine teeth, then he turned to the silent Colonel and said, “I miss the Colonel's snow white bear body and look forward to savoring it again when we return to camp.”

Extreme Yin Celestial Realm, Harmony City…

“We’ve arrived.” Yun Xiao took a deep breath and pushed through a curtain of snow, looking ahead.

Through the storm and mist ahead, a vast and majestic celestial city emerged, shrouded in swirling snowflakes, revealing just the tip of an iceberg. Even just a tip was chillingly cold.

“You've been on edge the whole way here, it was quite frightening,” the War Princess said, stepping through the snow to catch up, eyeing Yun Xiao curiously.

“Moon Fairy just went through a deadly battle. I managed to hold on thanks to our strategic advantage and fought a bloody battle," Yun Xiao explained.

“I see, I was afraid of disturbing you,” the War Princess pursed her lips, then asked, “How did things turn out over there?”

“Wealth is sought in the midst of danger. Although it was risky, the gains were substantial. Moon Fairy is safely back in the camp, and he's on the verge of a major breakthrough,” Yun Xiao replied.

“Then we need to pick up the pace here,” the War Princess said.

“Indeed, lead the way, my mistress,” Yun Xiao teased.

After being called mistress, the War Princess stretched, then let out a long yawn and snickered, “What do you call this? Poetic justice? It feels great!”

"Quit your flirting, let's enter the city," Yun Xiao quipped, giving the War Princess a playful slap on her waist, which sent ripples through her frame, showcasing her formidable resilience.

"It's just the right bounce. That Colonel, she's a bit too firm," Yun Xiao mused to himself.

The War Princess hummed a tune and shot him a glare, muttering a few curses under her breath.

Knowing Yun Xiao was in a hurry, she didn't bother to argue and adjusted her demeanor, heading towards the gates of Harmony City.

Yun Xiao had already explained to her that in the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm, they didn't need to put on much of a show—just keep a cold, unfriendly face, ignore everyone, and that would be enough to fool the people.

He bowed his head and followed behind the War Princess. Such a duo was all too common in Harmony City. A mistress and her slave!

Yun Xiao glanced around with the corner of his eye, noticing that many young women, accompanied by their slaves, were entering Harmony City, forming a long line at the gate.

"To enter Harmony City, they even check for the Harmony Ring. Without it, no entry. And the Harmony Divine Palace is right behind this city…"

Occasionally, Yun Xiao looked up, unable to see the entirety of this towering city swallowed by snow, let alone the even more magnificent Harmony Divine Palace behind it.

He felt like an ant entering a snowy mountain.

Fortunately, the young women entering Harmony City were quite aloof. Hardly anyone spoke, and everyone was wary of each other, which, fortunately, spared them a lot of trouble.

"In this world, beautiful women and pretty girls seem to cost nothing, dazzling to the point of being overwhelming. Look too much, and your eyes start to numb."

If just the sight outside the city could numb his senses, Yun Xiao could only imagine what it felt like to stay here longer… Everywhere he looked, there were beauties of every shape and size, enough to make dozens of different types.

However, the beauties of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm generally appeared very cold, with few showing warmth, perhaps related to the unique circumstances of Harmony City...

Everyone was cautious, vigilant!

Though the War Princess was a devil, she faced no obstruction and smoothly entered the city, aided by her Harmony Ring.

"Where to next?" the War Princess whispered as they walked.

"East, to Harmony Street. It's lined with many shops owned by those from the Harmony Divine Palace. We just need to buy a suitable source of plunder," Yun Xiao replied.

"Do we have enough money?" the War Princess asked timidly.

"I used up all the Divine Imperial Son's wealth, but that woman we killed earlier had 1,000 Supreme Immortal Jades on her—should be enough," Yun Xiao said.

"Right." The War Princess nodded.

Supreme Immortal Jades were far superior to the True Immortal Jades used in the Celestial Court. They were golden in color and the primary currency in the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm.

Yun Xiao and the War Princess kept a low profile as they made their way to Harmony Street.

The entire street was covered in snow, and the shops on either side were blanketed in thick layers of it.

It was a solemn and cold place!

The street was bustling with travelers from various regions, all young women aspiring to enter the Harmony Divine Palace. But because the street was wide, it wasn't crowded.

All the women kept to themselves.

"A world of only women truly is different," Yun Xiao mused. After speaking, he pointed to a shop that resembled a palace of snow, and the War Princess walked in.

It was even colder inside!

"What are you buying?"

A chilling voice cut through the air.

Yun Xiao looked up slightly and saw a woman in a black dress lying in the shadows, her skirt split to the waist, revealing long, white legs.

"Fate indeed." Yun Xiao recognized her. It was Zhao Menglin, the woman who had just slain all her junior sisters with a single stroke.
