Undead God: I Can Extract Everything

Chapter 387: 220

A sacred city encased in heavenly luminance in the legends.

At this moment, the city was devoid of any trace of holiness, or at least superficially so.

A dark cloud of deathly force enveloped tens of kilometers around the city.

Wraiths rivaling the sky’s stars gushed out from the Land of Bone, swarming from all directions.

These wraiths directly charged towards the city where the spirit of Holy Light resided!

The City of Holy Light being the Holy Light Church’s base camp.

The City of Holy Light had a profound depth that was unfathomable.

There were as many as 18 structures rated higher than Seven-turn in light power!

These structures were capable of surveiling, protecting, and attacking!

All buildings displayed their formidable prowess when the wraiths first arrived.

At the city wall, eight Seven-turn light structures were illuminated.

Following that, with the buildings as the core, a massive, omnipresent shroud of Holy Light sprang open, enveloping the City of Holy Light, impeding the invasion of the wraiths.

Meanwhile, within the city, buildings sparking with Divine Judgement lit up.

One after another, the beams of Divine Judgement indiscriminately rained down upon the city.

Under the power of Divine Judgement, wraiths vanished in swathes.

For a moment, the area around the City of Holy Light was radiant. None of the wraiths under Dean McKenzie’s command, akin to moths diving into the flame, managed to infiltrate this region.

The formidable Holy Light even gave the illusion they were gaining the upper hand in the skirmish against Dean McKenzie.

Under this magnitude of slaughter, the radiant light force under the City of Holy Light’s command was extinguished by the thousands, even tens of thousands every minute.

As long as Dean McKenzie’s wraith army wasn’t endless, a time would come where they would be eradicated!

Yet their optimism was short-lived!

Soon, a single arrow manifested from thin air atop one of the eight structures on the city wall.

It came from Old Nine who utilized ‘Absolute Hit’, ‘God’s Arrow’, ‘Death Arrow’, and ‘Lucky Crossbow’ skills!

The people of the City of Holy Light had cruel luck. The arrow launched by Old Nine had randomly amplified damage of 1499 times.

Understand that Old Nine’s base damage had already reached 3.6 billion.

Combining the equipment and skills, a considerable damage of 1499 times erupted.

The moment the arrow materialized, the ghastly force it brought along made even the Pope tremble.

“Boom!”

In an instant, everything within a hundred meters from the arrow’s landing point vanished. Buildings hundreds of meters outside the city wall were completely ruined, and only entities possessing Seven-turn survivability could withstand the destruction.

However, most importantly, that single arrow created a massive breach in the once seemingly impregnable defense of the City of Holy Light.

The overwhelming wraith army invaded through the breach.

“Holy Light Knight Order!

Holy Light Cleric Order!

Holy Light Warrior Order!

All of you, come with me. Block this opening!”

The Holy Light Pope led by example, quickly appearing in the huge breach.

Behind him, the three main army forces of the City of Holy Light were deployed to guard the opening.

Simultaneously, architects in the ranks of the Holy Light Assembly swiftly took action within this line of defense, utilizing every means at their disposal to rapidly repair the damaged city wall.

But could such a breach be easily plugged?

The wraiths, who were attacking the city from all directions under Dean McKenzie’s command, had all focused their attack towards this opening.

Under the vastness of the wraith army, the Divine Judgement simply couldn’t keep up.

Moreover, such edifices couldn’t be utilized indefinitely.

Energy and cool-down periods had to be considered.

Soon, the city’s Divine Judgement structures progressively became ineffective.

The wraith army began to swarm towards the opening relentlessly.

Even though the strength of these individual wraiths wasn’t formidable, under the influence of the Wraith Scourge, all of them saw a tenfold augmentation in their attributes along with a countless and fearless horde.

Even though every individual on the Pope’s side was elite, how could elites face the infinite, overwhelming wraith army!

Not to mention, amidst these seemingly irrelevant wraiths lurked powerful Skeleton Assassins, led by Old Eight.

They blended in amongst the ordinary wraiths, occasionally bearing their fangs.

Every time their fangs emerged, it resulted in bitter losses on the Holy Light Assembly’s side.

Even the Pope himself almost fell under the strike of Old Eight!

Under such circumstances, the elite forces of the Holy Light Assembly had to remain vigilant at all times.

How long could anyone endure under such a state?

In less than a day, the vigor of the Pope’s forces began to wane!

“This can’t go on; we can’t continue this way!”

The Pope was vividly aware that if it continued this way, they wouldn’t be able to hang on much longer!

“It seems like it is time for my sacrifice for the Holy Light Assembly!” whispered the Pope softly while removing the crown from his head and the symbolic Papal Scepter from his hand, handing them to the person standing beside him.

“Save them for him. If I die, he will lead you all to victory!”

After swiftly finishing his final words, the Pope composed himself and slowly advanced towards Dean McKenzie.

The Pope was old.

His steps were slow but very firm!

With every step, a subtle Holy Light emerged from him.

The wraiths launching themselves towards him paused, opening a pathway for him.

As the Pope continued to take one steady step after another, the Holy Light around him continually intensified.

At first, it was like a tiny flame in the darkness.

Soon after, it became a small torch!

Then, the Holy Light turned into a sun, illuminating the surrounding gloomy and horrifying atmosphere completely, making Dean McKenzie focus his gaze on him.
