Florida Man in Magus World: Unleashing Liberty and Freedom

Chapter 84: Florida Man Introduces New Vocabulary to Local Magic School - “School Shooter”

<This is where you\'re wrong. Never judge a book by its cover.>

\'I know, but how?\'

<You aren\'t the only one with a system in this world. Remember that snake queen?>

"…"

Felix recalled Diana and grasped Jessica\'s point. He also thought of the fate crystal in his inventory. Growing cautious, Felix discreetly retrieved a pistol from his inventory, hiding it in his jacket and subtly pointing it toward the boy.

Meanwhile, the chubby disciple of the elf woman approached the nun, panting and sweating profusely. He knelt on one knee and raised his arm.

"M-Marry me!"

Felix raised an eyebrow, smirking at the absurdity. The onlookers also chuckled at the teenager\'s awkward proposal.

The nun, however, remained expressionless. In a flat tone, she responded, "According to Goddess Eleanor\'s teachings, devout priestesses of the church must remain asexual. Therefore, I cannot engage in a relationship."

The love-struck teenager flinched and lowered his head, his shoulders trembling as he began to cry in disappointment. He lamented, "Is it because I\'m ugly?"

Felix inwardly mocked the teenager, silently berating him. "Yes, you are, fatso! Hit the gym and work on your rizz game! Do you really think any woman would accept a sudden marriage proposal from an ugly pig? Back in my hometown, you\'d be laughed off the streets, and you\'d become a meme in TikTok!"

Despite his thoughts, Felix coughed and tried to shake off the mockery, smacking his forehead as he cursed himself for looking down on others. However, someone nearby shared his sentiment.

An arrogant young master insulted the teenager.

"An ugly pig pursuing a goddess? Have you looked at yourself in a mirror? If I were you, I\'d do the empire a favor and jump into a river! She\'s way out of your league, you fat orc!"

"What did you say?!" The boy, enraged, stood up. His eyes emitted a fiery blue flame, and white smoke leaked from his orifices as he stomped toward Veetee.

"I dare you to repeat that!" the teenager bellowed, surrounded by colorful light that revealed his special ability.

At that moment, Felix narrowed his eyes, recognizing the energy radiating from the boy. It was aura—a power Felix had yet to master. Moreover, the boy\'s aura was even stronger than Sinnet\'s!

The instructors all turned their heads, shocked by the teenager\'s display. The aura knights surrounding Veetee quickly formed ranks in front of their young lord.

"A 3-star aura knight?! A knight trying to join a magic academy?!" everyone exclaimed.

The elf headmaster faintly smiled and snapped her fingers. A stone cage rose from the ground, trapping the teenager inside. She then faced her colleagues and apologized.

"My apologies. The child was born with an unusual health condition, and he had a difficult childhood. He grew up on a mountain, so it will take time for him to adjust to society." She paused, glancing at her raging disciple before snapping her fingers again, causing the stone cage to float away from Veetee and his bodyguards. It landed behind Felix.

Felix snorted but didn\'t bother looking at the temperamental teenager. He had been through that phase himself and regretted his actions from that age.

Veetee, however, stared at the caged teen before turning his attention to Felix, who had been keeping a low profile.

Recognizing Felix\'s face, Veetee mistakenly assumed he was a commoner among the noblemen and bellowed, "What is that commoner doing over there? Get lost! You stinking commoner has no place here!"

Without hesitation, Veetee pushed aside his bodyguards, pulled out his wand, and aimed it at Felix, conjuring a lightning spell to kill him on the spot.

The instructors brought out their staff in panic. However, Garudeer smirked and muttered, "Leave them."

"…"

The instructors lowered their staffs and wands, watching the event unfold.

*BANG!*

A loud noise erupted, stunning the crowd once again. But the noise didn\'t come from Veetee\'s spell or his wand. Instead, Veetee dropped the wand and clutched his right hand, which was now missing its middle finger and bleeding profusely.

The noise had come from Felix\'s jacket. A small hole under his armpit revealed the black barrel of a pistol, which emitted white smoke.

Felix lowered the Beretta in his jacket and switched on the safety. He muttered in frustration, "Tsk. I missed."

Meanwhile, Veetee looked at his bleeding hand. He screamed in agony, "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! HELP!! PRIEST! HEAL ME!"

The aura knights rushed to aid their young master. A fifth-circle mage accompanying Veetee sighed deeply and produced a potion from his storage inventory. He poured the contents onto Veetee\'s wounded hand, instantly regenerating the lost finger and ejecting the bullet.

Once healed, Veetee got back on his feet, but he hid behind the fifth circle mage. He shouted, ordering his men, "KILL HIM! KILL THAT COMMONER!"

The aura knights around Veetee bitterly looked at each other. Hesitatingly, they unsheathed their swords and surrounded Felix.

Felix deeply sighed. A spark of flame escaped his mouth and nostrils as he started using the flame breathing method, gathering his flame mana and warming up his muscles.

"ENOUGH!"

Before the situation could escalate, Garudeer\'s angry voice boomed, echoing across the field. A shockwave accompanied the command, causing those with weak knees to collapse.

Veetee and his aura knights were hit the hardest, suddenly feeling a crushing weight that forced them to kneel or collapse. Veetee\'s face was planted in the dirt, unable to withstand the force. However, his fifth circle mage bodyguard raised his staff, erecting a barrier around them. Only then, Veetee felt less suppressing force.

Felix also flinched at the shockwave, briefly considering pulling out the ATV from his inventory to set up a safe zone. Fortunately, Garudeer quickly restored order.

Turning to his peers, Garudeer apologized, "My deepest apologies for the sudden outburst."

The elf woman grinned. "No harm done. I was about to intervene when that kid started conjuring the lightning spell. Tell me, Garudeer, is that boy your disciple?"

Suddenly, the elf pointed at Felix, drawing the attention of all the instructors and judges.

Garudeer smiled proudly and explained, "As a judge for this year\'s exam, I cannot accept a disciple. However, we met during the Lamia Expedition, and I recommended he take the exam. In short, we\'re merely acquaintances."

The elf laughed. "Of course. None of us can accept disciples. Isn\'t that right, Ocean Headmaster?"

The elderly nun remained expressionless, folding her hands above her navel. With closed eyes, she replied, "Apprenticeship under a headmaster is strictly forbidden. However, there is no rule against recommending a promising member of our tower to take the examinations."

"Exactly," the elf cackled, glancing at the other instructors, who laughed bitterly.

Everyone knew this charade. The three headmasters, who were also the head judges, always showed preferential treatment to their special members. It was an open secret that only three candidates could pass the exams because of these behind-the-scenes agreements.

Three members from each tower, three available seats at the academy—the quota had always been designed for these chosen few.

However, there was a slim chance for other candidates to enter the academy. The only way was to defeat the three hidden disciples of the headmasters and catch their attention, thus stealing their places.

With Garudeer\'s intervention, order was quickly restored. Veetee\'s aura knights withdrew, stepping away from Felix, clearly wary of Garudeer\'s wrath.

As the commotion settled, the head judge finally arrived. A titanic-sized flying ferry ship descended over the field, landing behind Garudeer and the other instructors. The main figures then disembarked from the transport.

The emperor, accompanied by the three saints of the empire, casually approached the instructors, who immediately parted and knelt in unison. Felix followed their lead, bowing just like everyone else.

The emperor was surprisingly young, appearing to be in his early 20s. His blond hair resembled Veetee\'s, but his glowing crimson irises and black sclera exuded both a unique charisma and an air of terror. His handsome face, with a defined nose and sharp features, bore a resemblance to a strikingly good-looking Italian man, minus the hand gestures.

He was clad in a golden fur cloak, black plate armor, and a gemstone-encrusted gold sash.

The blond emperor gazed upon the kneeling crowd, his eyes briefly lingering on the blindfolded nun, Felix, and the fat teen in the cage. He snorted in disgust.

"Another year of corruption, I see," the emperor remarked.

Garudeer, the elf, and the elder nun lowered their heads, remaining silent and offering no defense.

The emperor then surveyed the crowd and announced, his calm voice carrying across the field, "I\'ve heard rumors that no talented commoners have been able to enter the Royal Magi Academy in recent decades, despite my father\'s decree that all talented individuals should have the opportunity! However, it seems the mage towers have been monopolizing the seats.

Therefore, I\'ve decided to personally oversee this year\'s examination and enforce the rules!"

This news was a blow to the headmasters of the Nature Tower, Ocean Tower, and Storm Tower. Garudeer bitterly smiled, realizing that his hopes of bending the rules for Felix were foiled.

The emperor continued, "Secondly, the academy\'s quota is too low! This year, I want to see 20 new students and 100 reserved students admitted to the Royal Magi Academy!"

The crowd widened their eyes in shock and then erupted in cheers.

Valley, hearing this, felt a surge of hope.

Meanwhile, Veetee grimaced, clearly displeased at the prospect of sharing space with commoners or the children of upstart merchants.

Felix, the young nun, and the fat teen in the cage remained indifferent. They were confident in their abilities and unfazed by the emperor\'s changes.

Felix silently licked his lips, already imagining the passive income he could earn from mana crystals. He was eager to secure the top score for an extra bonus.

After making his declaration, the emperor decided to cut the ceremony short and introduced the preliminary round of the examination.

"In previous years, the instructors and judges only briefly checked the candidates\' ages. Last month, I discovered that two students who entered were actually over 19 years old. We won\'t allow that to happen again. Therefore..."

One of the emperor\'s followers, a man clad in a dark hooded robe, retrieved an object from his storage inventory. A massive mirror, standing 20 feet tall and 10 feet wide, materialized out of thin air and anchored itself firmly to the ground.

The emperor continued, "We will use this mirror to verify the true age of every candidate. This year, anyone who is 17 or older will be disqualified."
