Legend of Dragon Son-in-law

Chapter 209 - 208 Embarrassing Maddox Ridge_1

“Boss?”

Upon hearing the voice, Azai Martinez was overjoyed!

Because the person who came was none other than his immediate boss, Maddox Ridge!

Following the voice, a succession of footsteps could be heard at the doorway.

Clearly, Maddox Ridge had not come alone.

Inside the room, upon hearing this voice, Julius Reed didn’t say a word as he grabbed a chair and walked toward the door.

“Protect Mr. Reed!”

Miguel Abbott bellowed.

Quickly, a scarred man wearing sunglasses and dressed in a white suit strode into the eatery.

But before he could react, he saw a chair smashing toward him!

Maddox Ridge’s eyes widened as he stood frozen in place, watching the chair come at him.

Crack!

Julius Reed swung his arm around and knocked Maddox Ridge to the ground.

The air instantly fell silent.

Everyone was stunned.

This was Maddox Ridge, one of Irving Harris’ most trusted men!

To say that Azai Martinez and Remus Smith were beaten, that was nothing; they were just a rabble.

But Maddox Ridge was different – he was Irving Harris’ true die-hard loyalist!

“You dare to hit our boss?”

About five seconds later, Maddox Ridge’s employees came to their senses.

They quickly helped their boss up while preparing to fight back.

“Stop right there!”

With his heart burning with rage after the blow, Maddox Ridge shouted.

But when he saw the face of the person who had hit him, a chill ran up his spine.

Just that morning, this young man had crippled one of Irving Harris’ legs!

Maddox Ridge had been right behind Irving Harris, watching his invincible boss getting his only good leg crippled.

And after paying a hefty compensation, he still had to smile as he was pushed out of the Water Pearl.

Later, Irving Harris issued a death order: anyone who dared to provoke Julius Reed during this time would be punished severely!

Now the very person was standing before him; how could Maddox Ridge not be afraid?

If he had not witnessed the might of Julius Reed with his own eyes, Maddox Ridge might have taken a chance!

After all, running into his own turf, if he could take down this kid, it would be a great service to his boss!

But the morning’s battle had chilled them all!

However strong they were, were they stronger than Master Pendleton?

Yet even Master Pendleton proved no match.

And Maddox Ridge, taking a closer look, noticed Miguel Abbott and his employees standing in the room.

If a real fight broke out, he definitely wouldn’t have the upper hand.

“Boss, this bastard is too arrogant! He dared to touch you! We must cripple him!

An uninformed employee roared with anger.

Right at their own doorstep, their boss had been attacked, and it was impossible for the employees to save face.

“Everyone, stop: ‘

After taking such a hit, Maddox Ridge, with a thunderous face, shouted and, while wiping the blood from his forehead, walked over to Azai Martinez and demanded, “What’s going on!”

Upon receiving Azai Martinez’s message, he had rushed over with his men and still hadn’t figured out what was happening.

“They broke my cousin’s leg!”

Azai Martinez pointed to Remus Smith on the ground writhing in agony, and then to his own head: “I brought men over, but who would have known my head would get cracked open! Boss, they’re not taking you seriously at all! It’s nothing if I get beaten, but this is a slap in your face!”

Seeing Maddox Ridge arrive, Azai Martinez felt immensely confident. Plus, with Maddox Ridge getting hit as soon as he entered, his heart was secretly delighted.

He knew his boss’s character all too well.

A fierce warrior among Irving Harris’ employees, who carried himself with disdain for everyone on a normal day.

Now having been beaten at his own turf, Maddox Ridge wouldn’t just let it go.

“Who the fuck told you to come here!”

Maddox Ridge slapped Azai Martinez, sending him tumbling to the ground.

This left everyone stunned once again.

“Boss, brother Azai was just following your orders…”

Whack!

An employee beside him was about to defend Azai Martinez, but before he could finish his sentence, he received a slap on his face.

“Say that again!”

Maddox Ridge pointed at the employee and demanded harshly, “Did I say that?”

“No… you didn’t say that, boss!”

The employee, clutching his face, stammered in reply.

“That’s right!”

Maddox Ridge swallowed hard and barked at the people around him, “How do I usually teach you, to maintain good relations with the locals! And look at you, bullying the people, what is this? Banditry?”

His scolding left everyone utterly bewildered.

With Maddox Ridge disowning it, and the truthful employee also getting a beating, even the dimmest person could see what was happening.

They certainly wouldn’t be foolish enough to talk back to their own boss!

“Yes! The boss is right in his teachings!”

The employees humbly accepted the criticism.

Meanwhile, Remus Smith and Azai Martinez, lying on the ground, were somewhat at a loss.

Something seemed amiss!

Maddox Ridge had been hit, and his first reaction wasn’t to seek revenge, but to shift the blame!

A chill ran down Azai Martinez’s spine as he looked at Julius Reed with an utterly shocked expression, as if realising something.

“Mr. Reed, I apologize for my poor management of my employees. I ask for your forgiveness!”

Under the gaze of more than a hundred people, Maddox Ridge walked up to Julius Reed with a red face and bowed respectfully.

This left all the employees dumbfounded.

These people, who had been full of murderous intent, now all stood aside, feeling mixed emotions.

Maddox Ridge was known for his fiery temper; all the employees knew that.

But what kind of person could make Maddox Ridge not only take a beating but also proactively apologize?

“It apologies were helpful, what would we need laws for.d”

Julius Reed stood with his hands clasped behind his back, showing no sign of accepting the apology.

This put Maddox Ridge in an awkward position.

He faced two choices: to fight it out, or to submit completely.

But even Irving Harris had failed, and Maddox Ridge wasn’t going to court death.

“Mr. Reed, since this situation has occurred because of me, and since you’ve already hit back, please calm down,”

Maddox Ridge managed a strained smile and negotiated with Julius Reed, “Tell me what would satisfy you.”

A man who stands under a roof has to bow his head.

Maddox Ridge, who was usually so arrogant, couldn’t express how stifled he felt inside!

“Keeping such scum around you will only tarnish your reputation! I think you should clean your own house! As for Roosevelt Shaw and his wife, it’s not easy; they still have to send their kid to college.”

Julius Reed pulled out several thousand dollars in cash from his pocket and put it in Maddox Ridge’s hand..
