Legend of Dragon Son-in-law

Chapter 415: 415 The Expensive Bicycle_1

“Lewis, didn’t you say you know the owner here? Hurry up and call the boss!”

Knox Ridge was anxious too, afraid that she would be the next one to get beaten.

The group was too forceful, they came in preparing to strike without offering a shred of decency.

“You dare say you know our boss? You’ve got some nerve! Make the call! Do it now!”

The manager looked at Lewis Leocadia coldly and pushed him onto the table with a shove.

“I was wrong! Big brother, I don’t know your boss, I was just trying to show off…”

Lewis Leocadia couldn’t care less about being a laughing stock anymore. If this continued, he might actually lose his life, so what use was saving face?

But he couldn’t understand, it was just a lousy electric scooter, was it really worth all this?

“What! You don’t know him? Then this Vaughan Danvers Hall…”

Knox Ridge’s mouth hung open. She couldn’t believe that Lewis Leocadia could boast so audaciously, even getting everyone to believe him.

But if it wasn’t because Lewis knew the owner, then how could Vaughan Danvers Hall be explained?

Could it really have been given up by a friend of Quella Radcliffe?

She dismissed the thought as soon as it crossed her mind.

Quella Radcliffe couldn’t possibly know such powerful people. And even if she did, would the manager dare to be so reckless right now?

They came in ready to hit people without discriminating good from bad, clearly without any reservations!

“So you admit it now? You’ve got the nerve of a dog, impersonating a friend of our boss! Beat him!”

With a wave of the manager’s hand, the security guards behind him charged forward furiously and started to punch and kick Lewis Leocadia.

“I was wrong…”

As the wails continued, the manager finally stopped.

“Tell me, what about that electric scooter parked at the door?”

“Electric scooter?”

Thinking about this, Lewis Leocadia, fuming with rage, walked up to Julius Reed: “It’s all your fault, you worthless trash, riding a worthless electric scooter and taking up the parking space, and now I’m the one being beaten. Kneel down and apologize to them! Say the scooter is yours, and that it was you who asked me to crash into it!”

“Yes! Julius, you better admit it, and quickly say it was all your idea!”

Bryson Ridge approached the manager with a placating smile: “Manager, it was all this loser’s idea, it has nothing to do with my son. If you’re going to beat anyone, beat him. He’s thick-skinned and can take a beating!”

Everything had stemmed from the electric scooter. As long as Julius Reed admitted it was with his permission that Lewis Leocadia had crashed into it, this mess could be resolved.

If anyone had to take a beating, it would be Julius’s issue, nothing to do with them.

“Knox Ridge, things should be handled accordingly! Even if we didn’t do it, we can’t let Julius take the blame!”

Although Knox Ridge looked down on Julius, in the end, he was her son-in-law. Moreover, she was particularly disgusted by Lewis’s earlier boasting.

As soon as she heard that Julius was supposed to be the scapegoat, she definitely disagreed.

“Sis, what’s the time for? Our Lewis has already been beaten, look at his delicate and tender skin, he can’t take it! Julius can take the beating, let him handle it, and it’ll be fine!”

Bryson Ridge said as if it were all perfectly justifiable.

“No way!”

Knox Ridge was surprisingly adamant for once.

No matter what, Julius had been with the Radcliffe Family for three years, sweeping floors, cooking, doing laundry. Even if he was a servant, even if he was a dog, they had developed some sort of attachment.

She might not respect him, but even a dog should be considered in view of its owner!

“So you’re just going to watch our Lewis get beaten up?”

Bryson Ridge was extremely angry as she pointed at Julius Reed, “You waste of space, say something! Useless trash!”

“Auntie! Watch your tone!”

Quella Radcliffe stood up, glaring coldly at Bryson Ridge, “If it weren’t for my cousin driving into Julius’s electric bike, would any of this have happened? If it wasn’t for my cousin’s vanity, insisting he’s a friend of the boss, would he have been beaten up? All of this is my cousin’s own fault, what does it have to do with Julius Reed!”

Quella had been holding back her frustration since dinner.

It was only because Julius had been holding her hand the whole time, signaling her not to stand up and speak. Otherwise, Quella would have said these things long ago.

“Quella! Your cousin came back from abroad, and Julius is just some loser. Can you even compare the two? Let him take a beating, and I’ll give you five thousand dollars! Deal or not? That broken electric bike, how much is it worth!”

Knox Ridge was almost dead with anger, seeing her son beaten up like this, her heart bleeding.

“Stop fighting! I don’t care whose car it is! If you create a scene in the restaurant, you have to follow the rules!”

The manager slammed the table, shocking Knox Ridge into silence.

“We’ll pay the money, can we pay and be done with it?”

Lewis Leocadia pleaded cautiously, his face swollen and bruised, eyes purple from the beating.

“Sure! That bike is worth a hundred thousand! Add the bottle of wine and the meal, let’s make it a neat three hundred thousand!”

The manager sneered, walking up to Lewis Leocadia with the bill.

“Three hundred thousand! Are you insane!”

His eyes widened, “What junk bike! Worth a hundred thousand! This is extortion! I’m calling the police!”

An electric bike is only worth a couple of thousand, yet they had the audacity to demand a hundred thousand. Where was he supposed to get that kind of money?

He didn’t even have three hundred thousand to spend for the New Year!

“Go ahead! It says right here in black and white, upon entering our restaurant parking lot, you abide by our rules!”

The manager gestured dismissively, and immediately, a security guard handed over an agreement.

It clearly stated that if any incident occurred in the parking lot and the parties weren’t satisfied, the restaurant had the final decision-making power.

“Where’s your appraiser! I’ll have him evaluate it. An old electric bike, it’s not worth that much!”

Lewis Leocadia yelled at the manager.

“Sorry, the head of the appraisal team is me, and here’s the appraisal report!”

The manager produced a paper, clearly prepared in advance.

It stated clearly that the total damage was one hundred thousand dollars.

“Julius Reed, you spineless fool, speak up! Say you don’t want the money, hurry up!”

Lewis Leocadia walked up to Julius Reed, bossily shouting at him.

If the two of them could settle privately, there would be no need for the restaurant’s involvement, and he wouldn’t have to pay.

“My car was parked in the spot just fine, and you smashed it. Why shouldn’t you pay for it?”

Julius Reed looked up at Lewis Leocadia, “When I threw your cousin into the water just now, what did you say? Family is family, but money should still be accounted for plainly.”

That was the way to handle someone with Lewis Leocadia’s personality.

Seeing Julius Reed would not agree, Lewis Leocadia, furious, began to curse, “You good-for-nothing! A broke loser! How much can an old electric bike be worth? You want money, right? I’ll buy you a new one tomorrow! Is that acceptable? Hurry up and tell them you’re not pursuing this!”

It looked like he would lose over two thousand dollars again, but if spending that much would solve the problem, he would accept it.

“You said it yourself, I’m poor. So why would I not want a hundred thousand and settle for two thousand? I’m not an idiot; I know which is more.”

Julius Reed sat in the chair, speaking slowly.

“You—you broke loser! You’re infuriating me!”

Lewis Leocadia charged forward, intending to hit someone, but was quickly stopped by the manager, “Everyone else, please leave this place, you two stay behind!”
