Destined with You

Chapter 465 - 569: Engagement News 8

Only Bai Ruiqing and Gu Qingxin remained in the room. With reddened eyes, Bai Ruiqing looked at her and asked, “Why?”

“Rui Qing, don’t overthink it. Qianqian also wanted to see you, but…”

“But what? Is it because her boyfriend wouldn’t allow her!”

“…”

“I just want to hear the truth. Is it really so difficult?” Bai Ruiqing, too agitated, couldn’t help but cough.

“Rui Qing, don’t get heated, things are not as you believe. Qianqian just wants you to get better,” Gu Qingxin said, nervously trying to reassure him.

“Gu Qingxin, tell Bai Qianqian something for me! Regardless of her hesitation! If she really doesn’t even come to see me! I will hate her!” Bai Ruiqing’s chest felt like it was tearing with pain.

Gu Qingxin could only relay Bai Ruiqing’s words to Bai Qianqian. After hearing them, Bai Qianqian didn’t react much. “Let him hate, as long as he can let me go, that’s good. Perhaps this is our destiny, destined to either love or hate…”

When Gu Qingxin left the hospital, it was drizzling outside. Autumn rain was always cool, and the cold wind gave her goosebumps.

Her driver held the car door open for her. After getting in, she asked the driver to take her home.

Right now, she didn’t want to return to Beiming Han’s apartment at all…

She didn’t feel like being alone in that opulent yet ice-cold house.

Seeing her return, Lin Yin was surprised. Noticing her thin clothes and wet hair, Yin quickly handed her a towel to dry off.

“Why did you run home in the rain?” Lin Yin poured her a cup of hot tea.

“I missed you, so I came back.” Gu Qingxin accepted the tea and took a sip before she felt a little warmer. She smiled at her mother.

“Don’t wander about in bad weather from now on. You’re a grown woman, you can’t continue to be reckless.” Lin Yin instructed her to go take a hot bath.

“Mom, I’m hungry, what’s for dinner?” asked Gu Qingxin as she walked towards the bathroom.

“I was planning on making some noodles. Is there anything in particular you’d like me to make?” Lin Yin asked her.

“I also want to eat noodles, let’s have noodles.”

“Okay, you go to wash up. Dinner will be ready by the time you’re done.” Lin Yin moved to the kitchen.

After her shower, Gu Qingxin found that Lin Yin had already cooked the noodles. Drying her hair, she came to the dining table. “Smells wonderful! Your noodles are the best, Mom.”

“I didn’t know you were coming back; there’s not much in the house. You’ll have to make do.” Lin Yin put the chopsticks in her daughter’s bowl.

“Okay.”

While Gu Qingxin sat eating her noodles, her heart felt a pang of discomfort. She realized she’s not a responsible daughter. Her mother had to make do when she was home alone.

It was only when she came home that her mother would splurge on food to cook.

Halfway through the meal, Gu Qingxin’s phone rang. It was Beiming Han.

Gu Qingxin pressed her phone to go silent and set it aside.

“Whose call is it?” Lin Yin lifted her head to ask her daughter.

“Oh…I don’t know. Maybe it’s an insurance salesperson.” Gu Qingxin lowered her head and went back to her noodles.

The ringtone stopped, and a new message popped up on her phone, “Answer the phone or I’m coming up.”

Upon seeing the message, Gu Qingxin hastily picked up her phone, terrified that Lin Yin might see it.
