Domineering Mr. CEO and His Impudent Love

Chapter 156 - 159: Making the Headlines

The incoming call displayed on the cell phone screen was from the villa’s number.

Aidan Lucas held the phone in his hand with a faint expression on his face. His eyes lowered, staring at the screen, lost in thought.

After waiting a few seconds, he finally put the phone to his ear, “Hello.”

“Young Master.” Ellie’s voice came through from the other end of the phone.

Disappointment flashed through the depth of his eyes, and the indifference on Aidan’s face grew even heavier.

“What is it?”

His voice was very low, sounding a bit gloomy in Ellie’s ears.

“Young Master, when are you coming home tonight? It’s getting late, and it’s not good for the Young Lady’s health if she waits any longer.”

Usually, Ellie wouldn’t dare to ask about Aidan’s whereabouts.

But now, knowing that the Young Lady was pregnant, Aidan wouldn’t blame her for asking, considering his wife’s health.

Indeed, the usually easily angered young master didn’t get angry today.

“Is Lily still awake and waiting for me?” Aidan didn’t even realize the corners of his mouth had unconsciously curled upward.

“Uh… yes… The Young Lady has been waiting for you.”

Ellie’s voice was a bit hesitant. Aidan immediately noticed, and his previously raised lip flattened again.

He asked coldly,”If she’s waiting for me, why doesn’t she call herself?”

“Well…” Ellie stammered, trying to explain, “The Young Lady… she was tired, so…”

He impatiently interrupted Ellie, “Take good care of the Young Lady and don’t call me unless it’s necessary.”

After hanging up, Aidan’s mood worsened even more.

He loosened his tie, walked over to the table, and picked up a cigar. Lighting it up, he soon exhaled a thin circle of smoke.

In the hazy smoke, he seemingly saw a beautiful face, smiling at him. The enticing cherry lips, the enchanting peach blossom eyes – every inch of her stirred the heart.

He stubbed out the cigar in the ashtray, the dissatisfaction in his heart deepening more than before.

Lily Gray… she’s doing well.

Just as she had said, she kept to the agreement, playing the role of a virtuous, magnanimous, and understanding Mrs. Lucas.

Aidan’s deep black pupils gradually filled with gloom, and he picked up the phone again.

“Samuel Mckinley, arrange for a popular actress to come over.”

The next day, Lily Gray woke up early.

She had to attend a court hearing in the afternoon, and had already arranged for Dr. Collins to come and give her an IV in the morning.

As Lily went downstairs, she felt something strange about the atmosphere in the house today.

Although it wasn’t very obvious, she felt that the gazes from the servants were somehow filled with sympathy and pity.

Did Aidan not returning home last night make the servants gossip and speculate?

“Young Lady, why did you come down?” Ellie hadn’t expected Lily to wake up so early, and didn’t have time to hide the newspaper in her hand, so she stuffed it behind her back.

“Ellie, what’s that in your hand?”

“Oh, it’s today’s newspaper. Young Lady, you should have some breakfast first, don’t starve yourself. 1’11 prepare it for you.”

As Ellie hurried into the kitchen with the newspaper, Lily squinted her eyes, sensing something fishy.

After a while, when Ellie came out with a bowl of white porridge, she almost spilled it, being startled.

“Young Lady, you… you shouldn’t believe those reports. Those paparazzi reporters are like that, always hoping to create big news. The young master would never do such a thing!”

Lily was holding her cell phone, browsing through today’s entertainment headlines.

“Popular actress Sierra Hammond has an intimate gathering with A City’s business tycoon.. Intimate behavior suspected to be in a secret romance?!”
