Chapter 390: 359: Kill the Jade Emperor_1
A playful smile curled up at the corners of Xu Mu’s mouth as he stepped into the Lingxiao Palace. The Four Heavenly Kings stood at the entrance, their eyes fixated on him as he walked in.
“Audacious mortal! Kneel at once!”
“Kneel!”
“Kneel!”
Officials from both the civil and military sides furiously rebuked Xu Mu.
Xu Mu turned a deaf ear, scanning his surroundings and spotting many deities from myths and legends.
At that moment, the Jade Emperor, clad in a yellow robe, on the high platform raised his hand to silence the scolding subjects and spoke with an undertone, “Mortal! Having met with your Emperor, why do you not kneel?”
You’re nothing but a deceitful cur, you’re not worthy of my kneeling,” Xu Mu smirked.
These words completely infuriated the Jade Emperor on the platform, his face turned gloomy and he waved his hand, calling out coldly, “Where is Tuota Tianwang?”
“Your servant is present!”
A remarkably strong man clad in golden armor, with crimson mantle, bearing a nine-story golden pagoda, stepped forward and responded with a respectful bow.
“Arrest this audacious mortal immediately and take him to the Heavenly Thunder Platform for punishment!”
The Jade Emperor pointed at Xu Mu and spoke coldly.
“As you command!”
Tuota Tianwang turned around to face Xu Mu. His stern gaze fell upon Xu Mu, and the nine-story golden pagoda in his hand flew up, seeking to envelop Xu Mu.
Under the enveloping golden pagoda, Xu Mu’s body shrank smaller and smaller until he seemed as insignificant as an ant before being taken into the pagoda.
“Now you understand our power, lowly mortal!”
“Such a light punishment for him!”
“Once sent to the Heavenly Thunder Platform, his soul will scatter, never to reincarnate again!”
The Civil and Military Immortals on both sides openly jeered and taunted, speaking loudly without any restraint. The hubbub was pandemonium!
“Have you had your fun? If you’re done, then get down here for your Sovereign!”
A low growl of fury suddenly burst forth from within the golden pagoda. Following this, purple lightning surged, directly shattering the nine-story golden pagoda into dust.
The next moment, Xu Mu, quick as lightning, pounced on the Jade Emperor on the platform.
“Audacious lunatic!”
“Stop him quickly!”
“Calling all, save our Emperor!”
The Civil and Military Immortals from both sides rushed towards Xu Mu attempting to prevent him from getting close to the Jade Emperor.
“You bunch of trash, out of my way!”
Xu Mu, filled with disdain, exuded surges of thunderbolts. The seemingly powerful Civil and Military Immortals were instantly reduced to ashes by the lightning, evidently weakling.
The next moment, Xu Mu arrived before the Jade Emperor. After swatting away two ignorant golden-armored deities, he grabbed the Jade Emperor by the throat and hoisted him.
Audacious! Audacious!”
The Jade Emperor’s face paled with fright, pointing at Xu Mu, his body trembling non-stop, whether from anger or fear was uncertain.
Xu Mu looked at the Jade Emperor in front of him, his brows couldn’t help but furrow.
Had he made a mistake?
This fellow didn’t seem at all like the puppet master.
Just then, someone shouted, “The Western Tathagata Buddha has arrived!”
A thunderous Buddhist rebuke echoed almost instantly.
“Audacious demon, release the Emperor at once!”
Xu Mu turned his head and saw a divine figure, wearing a golden robe, two bald disciples accompanied him, standing at the entrance of the Lingxiao Palace.
Tathagata Buddha? What sort of trickery is this?”
Xu Mu glanced at the Jade Emperor in his hand, feeling somewhat confused.
Could it be that this Tathagata Buddha is the main character?
With a squeeze of his hand, he crushed the Jade Emperor’s throat, emanating lightning and reducing the body to ashes as well.
He then turned and charged towards the Tathagata Buddha.
“Daring to harm the Jade Emperor! You demon! I’ll never forgive you!”
Tathagata Buddha’s eyes filled with rage as he raised his palm and struck towards Xu Mu.
The palm grew bigger and bigger, like a massive pillar, with each hair strand larger than Xu Mu’s body.
The next moment, Xu Mu’s entire body was swallowed by it.
“Even if you have great divine skills, you cannot escape from the palm of my hand!”
A hint of a cold smile crossed Tathagata Buddha’s face.
But before he could continue to revel in his joy, Xu Mu’s body broke through the palm and shot out, charging a punch towards the Tathagata Buddha.
“Want to see who’s bigger? Then let’s see who’s indeed larger!”
Xu Mu smirked, his fist pierced through the heavens and earth, revealing the light of chaos, making the Tathagata Buddha under his fist look as tiny as a speck of dust.
A demonic being from the outer realms dares to break my heaven and earth! Seeking death!”
Just as Xu Mu was about to dispatch Tathagata Buddha, a hulking man wielding a colossal axe materialized before him, looking like a savage man, and attacked him.
“Even Pangu showed up! What the hell?!”
A perplexed look crossed Xu Mu’s face as he was forced to unleash a greater power to fight Pangu. After eradicating Pangu, another being appeared, a grotesque Cthulhu-like monster covered in eyes and tentacles, followed by a youth holding the chaos…
Xu Mu lost count of how many he had killed. Regardless of the onslaught, bigger and stronger opponents continued to surface, one right after the other, like a set of Russian nesting dolls.
“It seems there is no real body here, the other party is consuming my strength!”
From the moment he stepped into this bizarre space, Xu Mu felt that this world relied on faith as its power source; the stronger the faith, the stronger its power.
Although he didn’t know where this power originated, his original physical strength was perfectly capable of transforming a small portion of it, far surpassing the opponent’s imagination.
That’s why he was so unrestrained.
But now it seemed that although the opponent’s power was not as strong as his, their utilization of power surpassed him by far.
Would the other party want to keep playing this way? Why not come out and have a nice chat?” Xu Mu called out loudly as he halted his actions.
“So, you barge into my territory, lose the fight, and then want to negotiate? That’s a joke,” drawled a nebulous voice, as if transmitted from high above the nine heavens, echoing in Xu Mu’s ear.
“Whether I lose or win, you should know better than me. I just don’t want to waste time,” Xu Mu smiled and said.
The voice fell silent; he knew too well that he truly couldn’t handle Xu Mu. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have resorted to the Russian nesting doll strategy to trap Xu Mu.
Xu Mu was backed by his original body, with a near-endless supply of telekinesis, but the force he’d accumulated with much hardship wasn’t something he would want to squander on Xu Mu.
“How would you like to talk?” The mysterious voice asked.
“Remove the illusion from Xu Tiantian’s body, and we shall each mind our own business,” Xu Mu suggested.
“Xu Tiantian? Haha! So it’s you!” It seemed that the mysterious person only recognized Xu Mu’s identity at this moment.
“I can let her go, as long as you sign this contract and enshrine my divine image, I shall release her immediately!”
The mysterious man seemed to have found Xu Mu’s Achilles’ heel and spoke with a slight hint of triumph.
The space before Xu Mu fluctuated, morphing into a golden contract inscribed with ancient characters.
Even though he couldn’t recognize the characters, he inadvertently understood their meaning.
“Humble believer! Willingly serve the Supreme Heavenly Sovereign, offer up soul and body, forever and ever, in servitude!”
