Who Let Him Cultivate?!

Chapter 109 - 108: Removing this talisman will let the master out 1

When Lu Yang returned to Sky Gate Mountain, his Eldest Senior Sister was still absent, with only the puppets guarding the house.

“The meeting is going on for this long? Is there a discussion about the distribution of Spirit Stones?”

In Lu Yang’s experience, only in such a case would a meeting be extended this long. The elders always had eccentric ideas that were constrained by a lack of Spirit Stones. Upon encountering an opportunity to gain these stones, they would fight relentlessly for it.

As he was thinking about this, he saw eight streaks of light flying out of the main hall. Eight elders exited the hall and his Eldest Senior Sister leisurely walked out, indicating the meeting had concluded.

“You’re back?”

“I just got back.”

Yun Zhi, scanning Lu Yang with her Spiritual Sense and confirming that Yellow Bean was still sleeping in the spirit world, spoke, “There are still many mysteries about Fairy Eternity, ones that even she herself might not know. I will visit some friends and see if I can gain any insight. You should practice diligently here at Sky Gate Mountain, and strive for your mid-stage Foundation Establishment.”

“Yes.”

Without uttering another word, Yun Zhi flew into the sky, her silhouette blurring, and disappeared in an unknown direction.

After Yun Zhi left, Lu Yang looked at the puppet, who had once accompanied him during his cultivation, eager to spar. The puppet quickly had him beaten and defeated.

Unable to beat even a puppet, Lu Yang was overwhelmed with a sense of defeat, and he started practicing meditation earnestly.

Since his eldest senior sister was busy dealing with his matters, he couldn’t afford to be lazy either.

“Apprentice, has my apprentice returned?”

A voice, eerie as a specter, reached Lu Yang’s ears. Covering his ears subconsciously didn’t stop the voice. It had an inexplicable enticing power.

” Who is this!” Lu Yang was vigilant as he looked around. He didn’t recall having a master. It had always been his Eldest Senior Sister who taught him.

Wait a second, he did have a Master.

“Lu Yang is back. I am your master, Daoist Buyu.”

The current Sect Leader of the Seek Dao Sect, Daoist Buyu, had disappeared for a decade.

The Sect Leader had disappeared for ten years, and yet the sect continued to function smoothly. They even recruited a new batch of disciples. The sect felt no different whether the sect leader was present or absent.

“Master?!”

Lu Yang was shocked. Upon becoming a disciple under Daoist Buyu’s guidance, he had never met his master in a year. His Eldest Senior Sister always mentioned that the Master was in seclusion and therefore could not meet him. Could it be that his master had finally completed his seclusion?

“It’s me. Even though you have never seen me, I have been paying attention to you all along. I’m very pleased that you were able to channel qi into your body and successfully establish your foundation,” said the voice, full of vicissitudes, sounding like a kindly grandfather.

“Master, where are you? You can’t come out because you’re in seclusion?” Lu Yang felt something was amiss. If his master could see him, and talk to him, then why hadn’t he heard anything in the past year?

The voice sighed deeply, full of unspoken bitterness, “Ah, it’s a long story. I have been in Sky Gate Mountain all along, but I am temporarily unable to leave my current location. There are some things that can’t be explained in a few words. You just need to follow the path I tell you, and you will be able to see me.”

Despite having doubts, Lu Yang didn’t feel any danger. This was Sky Gate Mountain, and the person was his own master.

Most importantly, his eldest senior sister had never warned him about this issue.

If there were any dangers, his eldest senior sister would’ve warned him long ago.

“First, find the pine forest halfway up the mountain. In the pine forest, there’s a three hundred meter tall ancient pine, the largest one in the whole forest.”

Lu Yang easily found the ancient pine that Daoist Buyu spoke of. He remembered that the puppet once picked pine nuts from here to make masquerade for him, which tasted very delicious.

“Lightly tap on the ancient pine three times, wait for three seconds, then tap three more times.”

Lu Yang did as told, and suddenly the space beside the ancient pine distorted. An area appeared as if a piece of camouflage cloth was flying up, revealing the reality.

A large area of pine trees on the eastern side of the ancient pine vanished, replaced by a dark abode. At the entrance of the abode, there was a golden talisman that was very eye-catching. The voice of Daoist Buyu seemed to come from this abode.

Lu Yang tentatively called out, “Master?”

“Ah, my good disciple. We finally meet.” An elderly man with an immortal bearing walked out of the abode, a duster hanging on his arm. He seemed somewhat moved when he saw Lu Yang. Was this his youngest disciple?

Daoist Buyu stopped at the entrance, not taking another step forward.

“What happened with you Master? Are you trapped here? When my Eldest Senior Sister comes back, I will ask her to rescue you!” Lu Yang said urgently.

“No No No.” Daoist Buyu quickly stopped Lu Yang. If it wasn’t for the fact that Yun Zhi had left Sky Gate Mountain, he wouldn’t have dared to call Lu Yang over.

“Don’t tell your Eldest Senior Sister that we met.”

“Why is that?”

Daoist Buyu looked up at the ceiling of the cave, his gaze complicated, “People live for fame and fortune. As the sect leader of the Five Great Immortal Sects, I have immense power, prompting many to want my position.”

“I can understand. Back in the day in order to take this seat, I also went through many bloody battles and stood out amongst my peers.”

“I thought that once I became the sect leader everything would be settled. However, I never thought that I would be betrayed by the one closest to me.” As he said this, Daoist Buyu looked as though it pained him to remember the past, but he had no choice but to recall it.

“Your Eldest Senior Sister is extremely talented, and the position of the sect leader would have definitely become hers once I retired. But she couldn’t wait until the day of my retirement, and broke our agreement. She trapped me here, and assumed the role of Acting Sect Leader, taking charge of all the affairs of the sect.”

“How has the development of the sect been in these ten years? Did your Eldest Senior Sister follow my plan?”

Lu Yang was startled. He heard from his Senior brothers and sisters that the sect had prospered tremendously over these ten years, and it was vibrant with life. Most of the credit went to the Eldest Senior Sister. Could it be that all of this was in Master’s plan?

Lu Yang relayed everything he had heard truthfully, earning a somewhat gratified response from Daoist Buyu, “Xiao Yun has done well. She also managed the sect well, even in my absence. It’s just a pity…”

“What’s a pity?”

“It’s a pity because it wasn’t me managing it personally. If it were me, there would have been a better management strategy.”

“So, can you come out?”

Daoist Buyu sighed bitterly. He tried to walk out of the abode, but as soon as he took a step forward, countless purple lightning bolts erupted from the entrance of the abode. These lightning bolts engulfed Daoist Buyu, frightening him into retreating and using his duster to put out the flames on his body.

“You see, I can’t come out.”

“Then, how can I save you?”

“There is a golden talisman written by Xiao Yun at the entrance of the abode. As long as you take it off, I can come out.”

Lu Yang looked at Daoist Buyu suspiciously, “Is it that simple?”

“Yes, it’s that simple. Xiao Yun said that if anyone takes off the talisman, it means that I am not destined to be imprisoned here. It conforms with destiny, so I should naturally be let out.”

Lu Yang looked closely and saw not the usual strange patterns on the golden talisman, but only seven large characters left by his Eldest Senior Sister:

Let’s see who dares to remove it.
