Vol. 6 - Chapter 352 - Fight with Gushara (3)
Allen noticed the change in Shea through his summons' shared vision.
Only the royal bloodline of Albahar had the rare Extra Skill [Beast King]. Apparently they could only activate it with the permission of the Beast God Garm, and it seemed Shea had managed to convince him this time. Prince Zew also had to ask for his permission when fighting Gordino in the last floor of the S Rank Dungeon. That was his first time asking for power, and he had received it, which was something he told Allen during their celebration party afterward.
Beastmen did not look like full-on beasts. They had animal ears and tails, sometimes horns, and their teeth were sharper than humans. But their bodily hair varied greatly between each beastmen. Females were usually only as hairy as humans. Males could have forests of bodily hair though. They all walked on two feet too, even those closely related to mermaids.
Royalty could enter Beast King mode, which made nearby beastmen go into Beast mode as well.
'FOLLOW AFTER ME! GRAWRRRRR!!'
With Beast King mode active, Shea's body transformed into that of a tiger and her body began to lean forward. It was still possible to tell she had once walked on two feet like a human. Her fangs and claws grew longer and sharper, and only the equipment on her body made her gender clear. Allen recalled stories of werewolves that changed like that at the sight of the full moon.
Shea clenched her fist and struck the ground with it.
BAMMM!!
A glowing magic circle spread in a radius of a hundred meters.
(Just a hundred meters. I guess she can still improve then.)
Prince Zew had told Allen that Beast King mode could be even more powerful. The current king of Albahar possessed a stronger version, which could spread its effect in a radius of one kilometer. That one could make an army of tens of thousands activate Beast mode. Prince Zew's Beast King mode only had one star, which was enough to power up everyone around him, but the king's had two stars. That was what gave him the strength to beat the Hero Helmios to a pulp during the Five Continents' Alliance meeting.
It was possible that the one used by the king had other kinds of powers than the princes'. Maybe Shea had just been so insistent asking Garm for power that she had been allowed to use the it. Or maybe something else had happened, but either way it was best to focus on defeating Gushara.
'''Ohhh! Lady Shea! Groowwwwlll!!'''
Her three troop leaders also rejoiced. Garm had approved of the princess they had vowed allegiance to.
At the same time, they felt their blood seemingly flow in reverse, while a floating sensation like their minds were being separated from their bodies overtook them. They were already supporting Allen's party by firing long range attacks from behind Kiel and Cecile, and with Beast mode their strength grew dramatically.
Shea also charged at Gushara, looking like a tiger pouncing. Her eyes were filled with vengeance for the man who took Lud's life.
'Hahah, it's about to run out.'
Then the Spirit God Rosen spoke. The Spirit King's Blessing was about to end. A support ally announcing their buff was about to end was something to appreciate, but no one was free enough to thank Rosen.
(This is bad. I don't know if we'll have enough time to kill them. I'll have to give it my all if I want to take him down before we suffer losses.)
Shea had finally managed to activate Beast King mode, but the Spirit King's Blessing was about to run out. Allen could tell that if their 30% buff to stats was lost, they would suffer casualties at Gushara's hand. Gushara was a Demon Great General, so his strength could not be underestimated.
The barrier protecting the temple had disappeared when the altar was destroyed. Allen's Sharing was coming back, being able to see what they saw all over the world. He could teleport everyone to the safety of a [Nest] if things got dangerous.
But Allen wanted to kill Gushara once and for all, he had already massacred millions of innocent people. He was too valuable of a target to let go. And he would do anything to Level Up defeating him too.
"I'm jumping back. Everyone watch your timings!!"
Allen wanted his party to cover for him.
"Okay, got it."
Hearing Kurena's response, Allen quickly jumped back. They already knew what he wanted to do by saying that.
Allen had chosen not to teleport behind the Stone A summon under Kingship, running there on his own feet. He could have asked Merus to take him faster, but Kingship made him too much of a valuable asset in the front line, so he could not weaken their defenses there. As a leader, Allen had to watch out for everyone.
'Now! Go back!'
After some time of those in the front lines fighting Gushara, Merush shouted loudly. At the same time, Allen came back.
Allen had already given them a heads up, so his friends moved swiftly.
'Hohoh. What do you expect to accomplish coming..?!'
Gushara was unable to finish his sentence. There were a thousand beastmen behind Allen. Back during the first fight against Basque, he had moved Basque to where the beastmen waited, but this time Allen had brought them here to perform an Extra Attack. It was his backup plan.
Shea's magic circle was still active too, so all the soldiers entered Beast mode instantly.
'?! Y-You fiend! Brave Lance!!'
There was a certain distance between the beastmen and Gushara, and they all began using their Extra Skills as planned. Rath had noticed Lud lying still on the floor.
He could understand what happened, seeing Lud not move a single muscle. Rath's spear became the signal for everyone else, and a thousand Extra Skills were unleashed.
'Gugagagaa!!'
(Oh, did it work?)
The Skeleton Pope, their main target, began screaming. He began to crumble under the rain of Extra Skills, and eventually all his bones fell loose onto the ground. Allen checked his Grimoire and saw an entry, a Demon General had been defeated and he leveled up. Apparently the Skeleton Pope counted as a Demon General.
'I-I can't…'
Gushara's healer was gone, leaving him alone. He knew he would be defeated at this rate.
He also realized he could feel a breeze from behind. The thousand Extra Skills had also blown the temple wall open.
"He's trying to run away!"
Cecile realized Gushara was trying to escape, but she had no way of stopping him. Basque had run away, the Skeleton Pope was gone, and the altar was destroyed. Gushara realized that he would be next.
'Hohohoh, let's leave it here for today, kids. I'll just- Ghah?!'
The moment he stepped outside the temple, something large hit his body. Multiple sharp and pointy objects began burrowing into his body, like large drills.
Allen had kept a Dragon A summon outside, under Kingship. It was there in case the enemy tried to run away, or to destroy the entire temple if needed, or as a decoy to let the party escape. It was the perfect solution to basically any issue Allen could think of.
In the end, it served to stop Gushara as he tried to escape, the enormous dragon's jaws closing on him.
"Orochi, time for the flames of hell."
(Hell sounds like the ideal place for you.)
Allen wanted Gushara to pay for the countless lives he had taken.
With Gushara trapped in one of its mouths, the Dragon A summon pointed all his other heads to it, all 15 of them spewing a flaming breath. The Spirit King's Blessing affected a radius of one kilometer, so the Dragon A summon also had its stats raised by 30%.
'W-wait, please wait!!'
The Demon Great General Gushara began to plead for his life.
"Merle, get the Vulcan Cannon!!"
No one would show Gushara any mercy. For a split second Allen considered extracting all information possible from him, but Merus under Kingship could barely hold him off, so it would be nearly impossible to restrain Gushara for an interrogation. Allen would prioritize getting his Experience. Using a Bird F summon, he ordered Merle who was stationed a distance away to fire the Vulcan Cannon.
"Vulcan Cannon Engaged!!"
Merle had trusted her time to shine would eventually come, and now it was that very moment, her Vulcan Cannon firing with all power.
Gushara was attacked with such force that even the summon's head was nearly burned off by Merle. Due to its incredible healing powers, the Dragon A summon began to recover quickly. It could recover 1% of its health every second, so even after receiving collateral damage from the Vulcan Cannon, the summon healed fully in just a couple seconds. Kingship also boosted all its powers.
"Alright Cecile, if you could be so kind as to deal the final blow."
Allen asked Cecile for that spell that had been so reliable this far. Makris' Sacred Bead had helped that a lot as well. This was Cecile's most powerful attack.
"Here it comes! Small Meteorite!!"
She had been anticipating this situation since the moment Gushara jumped out of the temple, so she had gotten everything ready to cast [Small Meteorite] already.
The Dragon A summon continued biting onto Gushara, not letting him escape. The summon then turned its head up, facing the huge falling rock.
Gushara was still being assailed by sharp teeth as the [Small Meteorite] fell straight on top of him. He was crushed between the summon's jaws, and underneath the enormous red hot rock.
'H-hieeeeeee!! Milord Demon King! Ghaaaaaaaaa!!'
As Gushara reached his final moments, he turnde to the Demon King for help. But his cries were only met with the enormous falling rock.
One of the Dragon A summons' heads was crushed underneath Cecile's Small Meteorite, vanishing from sight. At the same time, the front cover of Allen's Grimoire began to glow. A new entry was added to the log.
'You've defeated 1 Demon Great General. Level 91 reached. Strength +500. Mana +800. Attack +280. Endurance +280. Agility +520. Intelligence +800. Luck +520.'
"Ohh! I've leveled up a lot! I've skipped five levels!!"
Allen rejoiced, knowing he had finally managed to defeat Gushara Serbilor, the founder of the Evil Cult.
