Chapter 207: Fun Trial
Rana and James began to surmise how to make the food with the correct ingredients. And it seemed pretty simple.
"I don't think you got it right. You can make Tuwo dishes using maize Gari or rice with a bit of gari in it. But you are making it with gari and a bit of rice which will not do well. So also the amount should be increased because it said for the group and that means enough for you to have a portion!" A woman in a cloaked hood said.
"If we do that the numbers will be exaggerated more than the one in the stones!" Rena said as she observed the ingredient and made the calculation. Explore more at m,v l'e-NovelFire
"Look, this number corresponds to the third stone, just lift it to see if it was the right one!" Zero said and strangely Seth stored his shield and rested his chin on two palms.
"Is it correct?" James asked but Seth was silent.
"I will check, even if it was a trap I will survive!" Zero said as he walked and pushed the third boulder with his leg. Nothing. Happened but then….
RO!!!
The whole canyon shook and Zero was blasted back like a cannonball. Players with weak willpower fall to their knees and their minds banked away, those fast enough deploy shields but it was no use because it was a sound attack.
Seth was ready as he had his finger move to cover his ears and his aura activated to resist the sudden flash of pressure.
There was silence, among the 16 people, one of the 5 that belonged to the Raindrop group fell to her knees, and 4 fell to their knees, 2 swayed in horror and 4 were not fazed from Zambia's group. They are Seth, Zambia, Juma and Fist. Even Ash and James were down sweating.
Zero the culprit was embedded on the other side, status unknown. Rena and South were the ones that swayed. She quickly looked where her brother was blasted to before she sighed as she saw him half-transformed into his dragon and he was out cold.
"Isn't this too much?" Sapna asked, she and her group had the privilege of being protected by the women's hooded cloak.
"What was that?" Allen asked after he stood with middle legs.
"That was almost a dragon roar but just the initial blast!" Fist said, one can see a crocodile hide manifested on his skin.
"The game is super real. Proceed with utmost caution!" Zambia ordered with a smile. He is enjoying it. Juma was frowning as she gazed at Seth's closed eyes in a new light and understanding.
James was furious but hearing Zambia he had no choice but to calm down and seek Rena for more help. She dealt with maps and designs like this so she was his best bet in finding a way to bypass the madman trial.
"Let me help!" The hooded cloaked woman said amused, she was enjoying it too. She took the initiative to ask about the number of their group, which was 13, Blessing and Samsi were not around. She then asked what the approximate quantity of food would be normal while rationing. They then speculate.
The sum of the value was in the hundred thousand but they found another clue. After searching the whole paper they saw some numbers were associated with minus, division and even multiplication.
After they apply it, they have a number within the range of those on the stones. But there was no match. They did it again and found one that was a match.
Zero had woken up by that time and everyone looked at him, but he threw a curse and ran to Fist and hid. He was not moving any stone again.
"Maybe I need to do it myself." James sighed and went to the seventh stone. He glared at Seth, trying to see if he would do anything like close his ears but Seth's hands were by the side and he was relaxed.
He kicked the stone away when everyone was at the wall waiting to see something happen. But nothing.
The woman and cloak chuckled and said, "We are missing something!"
"Oh, he made a mistake!" Zero chimed in.
"Shut off zero. You are putting doubt in us!" James said, annoyed.
"Hey, I took the brunt of the blast for you. Is that how you repay me!" Zero screamed and James became flustered.
"Shut off zero!" Rena said with sweat. This is annoying and serious. "Check the canyon, there might be some clues!" She said.
"I found something," Mansa said, he was another player in the Zambia group. He came with a bowl that was very smoothly made.
"This should be the scale to measure the food portion. We aren't meant to make a deduction in the first place. Check for more please!" The woman in the cloak said.
It was gruelling agonizing time-consuming food-making trials. They even dug other places for items.
They calculated another number but they weren't sure about it. All of them looked at Seth that still had his eyes closed, for any clue after they announced the number. He was in the same situation and there was no shield or trying to cover for protection.
"Does that mean it's a success or blank?" Mansa said.
"I hope so!" James said with zero confidence. "Fist come help me!"
"Nah, man. I'm preparing for my trial from here!" Fist refused and Seth's smile increased more than ever while his eyes were still closed.
"Maybe we shall close our eyes!" Zero quickly said when he saw James moving closer to the ninth stone, which made everyone have their heart skip a beat and Seth almost laughed at them but he didn't open his eyes.
They all move far away and become ready to use their shields and then close their eyes. Few were confidently watched.
"Maybe you are not allowed to kick it!" Zero added that also stopped James. Seth burst into a laugh but quickly composed himself.
James with a red eye of frustration used his hands and lifted the stone. Nothing happened for a few seconds. But then something slowly began to be heard. Something distant, but it was creeping on them dangerously.
The hooded woman blasts up leaving the canyon, others try to do that but find their nerves not responding. Seth was floating now. Everyone had their legs become like a noodle and they went flat down with their minds blank. Even Zambia became blank, but he was already sitting like Seth so he didn't fell like others.
After one full minute of that low noise that drained their mind then it stops. They were drenched in sweat and their body very weak as if they had run a marathon. They found it hard to form a complicated thought.
"What the fuck is that?" Zero shouted, he was still in his dragon hybrid and looked at the smiling Seth with a bit of fear.
"I don't know!" Zambia said with a frown and then he looked at the woman that was now floating down, hoping she would know.
"I'm tired of this!" James yelled with frustration. He tried to stand but failed, "Seth, why are you doing this!" Shouted.
"Be careful not to set the others off!" Seth calmly said. And the angry James became still. They all know this was serious.
"Chief, should we stay here? This is dangerous!" A young girl asked in fear as she gazed at Seth behind the woman. "This is fun!" The woman said. That means they will stay.
"Seth, what was that?" Juma asked.
"There is a time limit!" Seth hinted, the sun was almost above them, it was almost noon.
"Do you know what it is!" Zambia asked the woman and she nodded but didn't say a thing.
"I thought you said the one that created the map has less than 70 points in IQ!" Zambia teased James. This means they shall continue.
Rena made many papers to further dismantle the map and all the writing on it, and then they began to observe it portion by portion. This time only Juma and Zambia were at the side, even Fist joined and they put their heads together including the Sapna group.
They made two more attempts, one was empty and the other invited a blast of red liquid that pulled everyone into a ball and squeezed with a pressure that was emitted and made everyone weak. Of course, some escaped but those that didn't suffer for one minute.
Zambia and the woman ordered the trial to continue. They calculated another number with less hope but James was ready to pick a stone when Zero shouted, "Stop! This is all wrong!" James ran back, there was still a red liquid on his face and shouted "What now!"
"I solved it!" He shouted with a smile. "Sister, make more papers to remove this and this!"
Soon everything was separated and the hybrid dragon began to arrange the papers into a squire.
A sketch appeared that had a place to put the bowl and they did, the spoon, the plate and other items they found. What was left behind was an exact number that wasn't covered at all. And that number corresponds to the sixth stone.
