Chapter 701 Looking Around
Chapter 701 Looking Around
"The meeting has concluded," Jason greeted the two representatives. "It’s already passed the time for lunch. Do you want to go to a nearby restaurant?"
"It’ll be great," George nodded his head. He had asked numerous questions during the meeting, so he had a better view about this city’s law. The rumors that this city was lawless didn’t seem to be completely true.
But they couldn’t just decide within a few hours of meeting. There was still a long time ahead for them in this city.
"Please follow after me."
They arrived in the nearby expensive restaurant. Jason had booked a VIP place for the two of them to eat. As for himself, he could sneak some food later when they were not watching him.
George looked at the menu before him. "Please get me some steak, salad, fried potatoes...."
As the two of them listed the food they ordered, Jason was stunned. The amount that they ordered was the same as the portion for two people. He never knew that people from the government would eat so much.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was not bad at all. The owner had specifically made it so that this place would only serve the best. Jason had informed him regarding these two important people coming, so he hoped that they followed after the instruction carefully.
Fortunately, nothing suspicious happened during lunch.
"It’s pretty good," Erica commented after she had finished eating.
Jason smiled. "This is one of the best restaurants in this city. Although the price is slightly unaffordable for people with lower income, this is the best place for people who love to eat a variety of meats. As you can see, there are seven types of food that they served...."
George and Erica listened carefully as Jason explained the matter of the restaurants in this city. He told them their statistics and also many other things that people didn’t normally know.
’He’s really a freak,’ Patrick rolled his eyes internally. He was merely standing to guard by the side, but his ears were hurt from the explanation that Jason gave. There were so many numbers that the man gave to the two representatives. It was as if this man was doing a presentation in this restaurant.
Time passed swiftly as Jason ended his explanation to the two representatives. He brought them away from the place as there were still some things that they had to do today.
"This city is considered as one of the largest cities in this place. Where do you want us to look first?" George asked.
"The first place that I want to take you around is the north area," Jason replied. "The north area is famous because it’s the border between the city and the sea. It’s one of the most well-developed places in this city."
In truth, he wanted to bring them to the southeast, where it was also part of the sea. Since it belonged to Kevin, the young man had developed the area nicely. It was apparent that those who had the place near the sea would surely develop their place. After all, those areas were mostly recreation places.
Unfortunately, Kevin rejected his notion without any second thought. The young man believed that it was not suitable for the two representatives to look at things that he had built. After all, the condition of the south was better than the other areas. It would do them no good to make such a contrasting development.
In the end, he had to be satisfied with showing off the area in the north. It was not too bad since the previous four big families invested a lot of their money in this area.
"The street is not in too good of a condition," Erica commented as she peered from the window. "There are a lot of broken roads and the likes."
Jason smiled wryly. He knew that the narrow roads were not in a good condition. This was the real reason he didn’t wish for them to see. "There are still some parts that need repair. We will do them shortly."
"How many of the streets that need repair?"
"Do you wish to know the number of the street in number or the number of the length and area?" Jason asked back.
Erica frowned. The question could mean two things and Jason had mentioned the two possibilities that she wanted to test from the young man. "Just state what you know."
"With pleasure," Jason smirked as he started to list out the things that he had prepared before. For this meeting with the two representatives, he had made sure that he stuffed every single information regarding this city that he could find. With a bit of help from Laura, he managed to memorize most of them.
On the side, Patrick held on to not roll his eyes in front of Jason. He couldn’t believe this man memorized them all. Those were all numbers that didn’t have any meaning in his eyes, but for Jason, it was simply priceless.
They made their way out after a while. The beach that Jason showed to them was extraordinary, taking away the attention of the two representatives for a short time.
"There are some stores here, can we visit them?" George pointed to the row of stores not far from them.
Jason nodded his head. "We have plenty of time."
"That’s good."
The two of them made their way to the row of stores as they started to look around. Aside from looking around, they were also interviewing the store’s owners. This way, they could gain a bigger picture about the condition of this place in this area.
Jason patiently followed after them. This time, it was not his place to answer their question, so he merely waited by the side for the two of them to finish their interrogation. It was pretty boring, but he still put up a smile on his face.
"Let’s look at that one," Erica pointed to another store.
George nodded his head. "Sure."
As Jason followed after them, he noticed that it was nearing evening. He sighed internally. There would be some changes in the schedule that they had prepared today. It was not really a big deal.
"Hey, wait for me!"
The childish sound made him turn his head. Seeing Kanae run around with slightly disheveled clothes made him stunned for a few seconds. That was Kanae?
"Big Brother, you should wait for me," Kanae pretended that she was out of breath as she held onto Kevin’s hem of clothes.
Jason: "..." she’s really good at acting as a little girl. Perhaps, the influence of Laura?
He was walking near them as Kanae still pretended that she was out of breath. Kevin’s expression didn’t change in the slightest, making people wonder if this man truly a brother.
Kevin glanced at Jason and spoke out. "Pay attention to their movement and impression."
"I got it," Jason replied. "Just leave it to me."
Jason continued his journey to follow after the two of them as he wondered why these two appeared so fast. Behind him, Patrick also eyed the two of them curiously.
"How’s the chase?"
"The detained driver is being interrogated," Kevin replied. "I don’t know the rest."
"Did you get any wounds?"
"No."
From their appearance alone, it was apparent that they barely suffered any kind of wounds. If anything, they looked rather energetic. As the group of people moved away, Kanae looked up, this time without gasping for breath.
"How many times should I pretend to be your little sister?" she pouted.
Kevin tilted his head. "Just a few more times should be enough. You’re pretty good at doing this."
"I have to be good to make this believable."
"Do you have a real-life brother?"
"..." you know that I’m the first child, right?
