“I don’t need you.”

Qiu Tong pushed Jin Yang away. She had originally wanted to use her special ability to heal her injury, but then she remembered that Song Yan had personally witnessed her injury. If she were to heal in just a few hours, she might arouse his suspicion. Qiu Tong lowered her hand and Jin Yang guessed her reason for stopping. He wanted to apply the medicine for her.

She lowered her eyes as images of the woman in the white dress leaning on Jin Yang’s shoulder flashed across her mind.

Qiu Tong shook her head, chasing away the messy thoughts.

“Our so-called marriage of convenience is pointless. Song Yan has no intention of taking the children away. We don’t need to continue pretending to be husband and wife. I’ll think of a way to explain to the children. You just need to move out of the villa with your things.”

Instead of waiting for Jin Yang to bring it up, it was better for her to sever this ill-fated relationship that should never have begun!

Qiu Tong’s pride made her unwilling to be the inferior party in love.

Jin Yang heard her merciless words and looked up at Qiu Tong in disbelief. “Because of Song Yan?”

Qiu Tong stood up and was about to leave when Jin Yang angrily pressed her shoulder.

Thump! Qiu Tong grabbed his hand and bent her body slightly, throwing Jin Yang to the ground.

Jin Yang wanted to fight back, but Qiu Tong pressed her elbow against his throat mercilessly. Her voice was cold as she warned, “I don’t want to fight with you. Please leave quietly and let us preserve our last bit of dignity!”

“She probably doesn’t want to see you injured either!”

Who was she? When Jin Yang heard Qiu Tong’s words, he propped himself up on the floor.

Qiu Tong limped to the bedroom door. Just as she pushed the door open, she heard hasty footsteps coming from behind. She gritted her teeth and threw a punch. Jin Yang used his palm to block her attack. Qiu Tong bent her knee and kicked his lower abdomen. Jin Yang dodged. Taking advantage of the moment, she grabbed the door handle and wanted to lock Jin Yang outside.

Jin Yang reacted quickly and stuck his arm into the gap to prevent the door from closing.

Qiu Tong exerted a lot of force. Seeing Jin Yang frown but remain silent, she instinctively let go of the door.

Even if Jin Yang did not suffer any bone fractures, he would still need a few days to recover from that. His arm would definitely be bruised and so painful that he would not be able to lift it.

Qiu Tong could not hide her worry. Jin Yang smiled.

“It’s quite worth it to exchange an arm for a chance to say a few words.”

Jin Yang walked into the room. He looked at Qiu Tong seriously and said sincerely, “As the president, countless terrorists and enemies have been eyeing me from the day I took office. They want my life. You saved me by the roadside, do you remember?”

“I was heavily injured and unconscious for nearly half a month, so I lost a portion of my memories.”

“I don’t remember what happened, and I can’t tell if the fragmented memories are real or just a dream I fabricated.”

Jin Yang looked at Qiu Tong deeply. He told her everything he had previously hidden.

Qiu Tong’s eyes flickered as she listened quietly in shock. She recalled the scars on Jin Yang’s body and could not help frowning as she guessed how many times he had been on the verge of death.

Jin Yang chuckled, as if he could see her worry. He comforted her, “I’m very safe now.”

“I can’t give you an affirmative answer to what you want to know. I don’t want to lie to you either.”

“But at this moment, the Jin Yang standing in front of you only has you in his heart! I didn’t propose marriage only because I wanted to help you keep your children. It was just an excuse which I spent a lot of effort to come up with…”

“When I found out in the capital that you and the children were in danger, I decided to abandon everything and rush to S City to find you. I already decided that the only woman by my side would be you.”

Jin Yang’s confession was heartfelt. But his timing was somewhat off.

After the fight, Qiu Tong’s hair was a little messy and Jin Yang’s shirt was stained with dust.

Qiu Tong’s emotions were in turmoil. She went from shock to acceptance before asking in a soft voice, “What about the woman outside? Isn’t she your lover?”

“So you’re jealous?”

Jin Yang asked in surprise. Qiu Tong frowned unhappily. He immediately spread his hands and explained, “I don’t know her.”

“She’s the daughter of my father’s friend and came from the capital. I only met her once per my family’s instructions.”

“Shao An will handle the rest. I won’t meet her again.”

Qiu Tong did not expect the truth to be like this. She said in a huff, “But she looks very similar to me. I thought…”

Jin Yang smirked and slowly walked over to Qiu Tong. He raised his hand and pulled her into his arms. He leaned over and whispered gently in her ear, “But she’s not you! My heart is very small and can only accommodate one person. Her name is Qiu Tong.”

Qiu Tong clenched her fists and hammered his chest. Jin Yang pretended to be in pain. “Ouch!”

The temperature in the room rose because of the change in their relationship.. Qiu Tong looked at Jin Yang’s profile, but her heart was still troubled by his missing memories and of the former lover whom Jin Tao mentioned.
