Chapter 307 Sweet hubby... prioritizing his wife?!
"I— I was hoping to meet Elliot Gong tonight and I had hoped that he would bring Lexi as his date~ Kyaah~! Does this mean that, Eli not attending to his friend's event has something to do with his wife Lexi? Omo!" Stuttering at first as if she was sad that she was unable to meet her prince charming named Elliot Gong, her tone escalated along with her imagination running wild. She covered her gaped mouth in surprise as if she successfully put the puzzle together.
"I guess only a lover's quarrel could make him miss this event~! Kyaaah~! What a sweet hubby— prioritizing his wife~!" Blushing as she brainwashed herself that Elliot Gong must have been forbidden by his lady named Lexi Yang, hence, his absence to this meaningful event.
'Sweet hubby… Lexi and Eli… EliXi…' Hearing her every sentence— loud and clear, Ethan Lu was reminded about all his mortal enemies called EliXi fandoms. Alas, instead of flipping out, Ethan Lu could only look at his cousin in a daze.
Was he hearing her right? Was she just blabbering all this nonsense in front of him? His cousin was actually shipping and cooking up delusional scenarios inside her mind and bravely speaking them out loud? Ethan Lu was speechless and at the same time, his boiling point was slowly reaching its peak.
On the other hand, Lyrick Jiang who was acting as Ethan Lu's tail all this time without a word could not help his brows but twitch. Every time Evelyn Lu spouted Lexi's name along with Elliot Gong's name, his face began to distort. He glanced at his master's expression and the look he saw on Ethan Lu's face made him swallow a mouthful of saliva.
Taking the initiative to send this girl away, Lyrick Jiang cleared his throat as he recomposed his distorted face. "Young Miss, please greet the old master. I'll show you the way." Gesturing the unaware Evelyn Lu to follow his lead, Lyrick Jiang ignored the fact that he was sweating a bucket and his back was already soaked.
"Oh, right. Anyways, brother Tan, congratulations again! Let's talk about EliXi again later okay…? You have to tell me that those two are really in a relationship." Giggling, Evelyn Lu whispered to Ethan Lu before following Lyrick Jiang to the old master of the family.
To her, her cousin's reaction could only mean that Elliot Gong and Lexi Yang were indeed in a secret relationship. After all, she knew that her cousin was good friends with Elliot Gong and probably knew about this secret relationship. Therefore, Evelyn Lu's anxiousness for meeting her grandfather, Edward Lu was enormously reduced as her mood lightened.
"That little…!" When he recovered from his shock, Ethan Lu turned his head to the retreating back of Evelyn Lu and ground his teeth in annoyance. He knew that his cousin must have thought that he was interested in fulfilling her wishful thinking.
Moreover, did she just say she really thought the two should get married because the masses approved of this relationship? Thanks to her, Ethan Lu's mind was a little distracted as he wanted to teach this girl a lesson for shipping her cousin's woman to another man.
"Master, the meeting is about to start." Suddenly, a guard soundlessly approached Ethan Lu from behind and slightly bowed his head as he reminded him about the meeting. Alas, the guard only received a deadly glare as Ethan Lu's mood was stirred with annoyance to Evelyn Lu's stupidity before he stomped his feet out of the hall and to the meeting he must tend to.

"Nico, is that all I should know?" Without retracting her eyes, Lexi watched the road through the back passenger seat window.
"Yes. That's all the family rules that we should abide by. Still, there were separate rules that only apply the direct members of the family. I already said what I know but the rest, only Master could tell you about it." Glancing through the rear mirror, Nico Zhuang saw her beautiful side profile that gave nothing of what she was thinking.
He thought that Lexi would not attend tonight's event after everything that happened. However, just when the event time approached, he received a message from Lexi to enter the Yang manor. To his surprise, Lexi was already dolled up and he had met her parents.
He didn't know what happened inside as he was only accommodated with a one of a kind tea made by Lillian Yang. Unlike the ambiance around the Lu main residence, Nico Zhuang immediately differentiated the difference between the two residences as the Yang Mansion was peaceful and light— oozing with aromatic tea scent to the whole house while the main Lu residence smells of pure schemes and dread.
"Madam, we have arrived." Announcing their arrival as he stopped at the entrance of the grand hotel where he could drop Lexi off at and use a valet service to park their car, Nico Zhuang only glanced at her again.
"Park it. I need more time to rest." Without turning to see Nico Zhuang on the driver's seat, Lexi ordered which he abided without a word.
Whether Edward Lu made his appearance earlier or not, Lexi was already set to attend tonight's event. However, after knowing all of the schemes and had a glimpse of the heavy baggage she must carry with Ethan Lu, Lexi didn't only want to prepare herself but also her parents and the family she would start with Ethan Lu.
Therefore, with that thought in mind, her initial plan of confirming her pregnancy was moved earlier because as she said, she would always choose him over anything in this world. No matter how dangerous the days they would face ahead, Lexi would bear all the burden with him.
Moreover, she had one realization with her time alone… that she actually has never done anything for him. She hasn't sacrificed anything just to be with him. All she did all this time was to take— live under his protection and just be beautiful in front of him despite saying she wanted to be a good support system for him.
"Madam, do you want to rest first?" After reaching the parking space, Nico Zhuang inquired as he didn't hitch out immediately and asked her first as to whether she wanted to make her entrance of not.
"No, I am going."
