Chapter 51 Troublesome (1)
At the last moment, Jake realized by looking into Justin\'s eyes that he wouldn\'t go down without causing a lot of trouble for Jake and his party. He had a certain glint in his eyes that made Jake really pissed, after all.
"Kill them all!" Justin shouted as he watched Jake running toward him.
Jake fired Mana Blades on the priest before he could use any defensive spell and killed him, but he didn\'t have enough mana to do the same with Justin, so he had to do it with his own hands. In the end, the asshole didn\'t even have the dignity to face the result of his actions.
"I won\'t forget this… See you soon, Louise," Justin said, and then he logged off.

The enemy party was defeated, but the kobolds still were dashing toward them. They lost their leaders, and their morale probably have decreased as well, but Jake knew his party still will have quite the ordeal before them. Instead of fighting ahead, Jake returned to where Lana and Louise were. While they didn\'t have to fight for anything else, it seemed Louise was nervous due to Justin\'s parting words.
"You can worry about that later," Jake said and then tossed the spears Justin and his friend used to them.
"How can you be so tactless?" Lana asked, visibly upset.
"You need to become like that eventually," Jake said. "Or everyone\'s problems will always be a huge pain in the butt for you."
The first kobolds finally arrived, and Jake welcomed them by swinging his sword mercilessly and cutting their throats. When several others tried to surround him, the orc mages stopped them with Fireballs.
"...Conserve your mana, only use spells when you think that is absolutely necessary," Louise said when she recovered a little bit. "Use ordinary weapons first and stay behind. We are their current targets."
There was a small number, but Jake could see some kobolds armed with crossbows. If they take them down and grab their weapons and use them as effectively as possible… they might pull that off. However, leaving the girls alone surely would result in a game over for them, and eventually, the same will happen to Jake. It seemed that he would have to do things on the hard way… when Jake was thinking that, he suddenly heard some footsteps coming from behind, and when he saw the wounded orcs walking while armed. It seemed that they were planning to join the last battle.
"I will come back in a minute," Jake said when he realized that the orcs would be able to give him the time that he needed.
Louise nodded, and Lana sighed. They knew that Jake was planning to do something that probably would change the course of the battle. Still, it always looked like he was up to something egotistical more than anything. Nevertheless, even when Jake disappeared in the middle of the army of kobolds, they noticed that he became the focus of many of them.
Finding and taking down the kobolds armed with crossbows had been easy. Even though Jake was exhausted, he just needed to run a little and then use some of the monsters as a shield to avoid being hit. While sometimes he got hit, the parts of his armor prevented him from suffering wounds that were bigger than scratches.
After getting two crossbows, Jake dropped his shield and katana and then pulled the triggers while aiming toward the enemies around him. Since Justin\'s group lost, the kobolds lost their viciousness, but they still were as dumb as before and charged without considering that they wouldn\'t have the chance to dodge the bolts.

When Jake used all bolts, he saw himself surrounded by the corpses of kobolds, and then he had the chance to look at where he left Lana and Louise. He could see both of them fighting and commanding the orcs. While their numbers decreased a little, things still weren\'t dangerous for the time being. With that in mind, Jake drew the attention of several other enemies away while he looked for some crossbows.
In the end, after repeating that same thing only three more times, Jake realized that the kobolds began to retreat. Without Justin\'s party to lead them, they weren\'t as quite as suicidal anymore. So, they quickly realized that they wouldn\'t win that battle due to Jake\'s party. Even defeating a single one of them seemed impossible…
While they could have followed the enemies to make sure that they wouldn\'t try that again, no one had the strength to do so, not to mention Jake, Lana, and Louise received a notification from the system.
Congratulations! You have completed the special mission. You will be teleported back to the town in five minutes.
This time, they wouldn\'t be forcefully teleported back to the town. It made sense since there weren\'t any purple crystals there. Nevertheless, Jake hurried to grab the items left by Justin\'s party. There was a lot of loot around, but Jake wouldn\'t be able to carry all that.
"Let\'s help him," Lousie said.
"Are you sure?" Lana asked. "You should rest a little, you still look pale."
"I am fine silly," Louise said and then smiled. "I was just caught off guard…"
Jake thought he wouldn\'t gain anything in that mission aside from experience and coins. While he didn\'t like to be wrong many times, he liked that this time, his predictions were.
