Chapter 216: Past and members of "Resistance?!"

Chapter 216: Past and members of "Resistance?!"

In the past, there had been many cases of apostles sacrificing their flesh and soul to summon the serpentine devil on planet Xavier and planet Earth. The magician community had suffered minor but also significant losses each time that happened.

One time, a king-ranked serpentine devil offered up his vessel to the serpentine devil. The body of said magician was strong enough to endure more than half of its power. As a result, many cities got destroyed, and millions of people lost their lives, their flesh, and their soul devoured by the serpentine devil. The magician community tried to stop it, and every family sent their experts to defeat the evil god’s vessel at that time.

Thousands of experts cornered it. However, they all died, unable to even leave a scratch on its body.

As they couldn’t do anything about it, the evil God continued its rampage, unhindered. It only had one goal in its mind, kill as many humans as possible and eat their souls and flesh to increase its power. Humans, like their names, were extreme delicacies to the demons. Not only did devouring them improve their strength, but it also caused a surge of morphine in their heads, giving them the immense pleasure that was ten thousand times stronger compared to having sex and ejaculating.

As the human race faced the threat of destruction, the emperor of that time dropped all his work, picked up his weapon, and charged to the front lines, intending to stop the demonic God from heading towards the Holy Continent. Continents’ names got changed after the great devastation that happened when beasts invaded Earth.

At that time, there was only one emperor.

The emperor intercepted the serpentine devil while it was crossing the sea to the Holy continent. The two fought for seven days and night, but even the Emperor failed to gain the upper hand. Both were equally strong. Their battle continued as the sky roared out in desperation, the ocean started to dry up, and the Earth began to crack, giving up under their devastating might that could shake the planet! Subsequently, both sides injured each other and had to pull back.

The emperor went back to his base and started to heal itself, so did the serpentine devil. One used healers and medications to heal itself; the other consumed humans, animals, and all things livings, one with a breath in them.

In the midst of it all, another magician ascended to the rank of the emperor. The two overlords of humanity combined hands and cornered the vessel of the serpentine devil.

History says that the two emperors fought the serpentine devil for 30 days straight, pushing it away from the Holy continent and chasing it all over the Dark Continent, a place that beasts inhabited chiefly.

Even the two emperors combined failed to kill it, however, and it was only after several mysterious figures appeared that they managed to put an end to the serpentine devil’s king-ranked vessel.

Although the vessel was already at the king of magic level, one couldn’t deny that the only reason humans suffered so much damage was because of the serpentine devil.

A single magic emperor was more than enough to take down Magic King. Yet, as the serpentine devil took over that king, even the two emperors combined hardly managed to take him down.

Such information was recorded in textbooks and taught to everyone in school.

Thus, Elliot was bound to know that!

So, why was he allowing the other party to summon the projection of the serpentine devil?!

Had he grown so much that he did not need to fear the gods and the devils? Of course, that can’t be possible.

The onlookers dropped that notion as soon as it popped up in their heads. Elliot was just a youngster with an incomparably powerful supernatural ability. But that doesn’t mean that he was as strong as an emperor, right? They couldn’t even think of that. Instead, they refused to believe it.

So, they thought of him as an arrogant man who would suffer a lot because of his foolish decision.

“He had gone crazy!” Richard Regis didn’t waste any time criticizing Elliot for his actions.

“He would regret it.” Lady Charlotte mouthed off, not knowing that she was cursing the lover of her precious daughter.

A few more elders clamored to denounce Elliot and make fun of him.

The inquisitor sighed, “Alas, another talented genius is going to fall because of his arrogance.”

It was already too late for them to go and help Elliot. Not to mention, they didn’t even know whether they would be able to break the barrier surrounding the ancient settlement or not. The only thing they could do was look at the ongoing battle.

Some wished for the fall of the youngsters, but the others wished for him to perform another miracle and come out victorious.

“I believe in you.” Instructor Leonardo’s hands tightened into fists, his eyes brightening in violet color as he looked at Elliot.

“Even if you fail, I will not hesitate to save you.”

The so-called elders of the magician academy heard his mutters, and they all turned to look at him, only to see violent burning brightly in his eyes sockets. A single look at them and the four elders surrounding them gasped immediately.

“Are you going to go so far as to release your protective seals only to save him?”

The elders were surrounding him and had a respectful expressions on their faces. Although they were all a realm above him, they still treated him like a person above them. The others weren’t able to hear anything, not that anyone was looking at them.

Instructor Leonardo chucked, “He is worth it.”

Elliot had proved himself worthy enough to make him sacrifice himself in the process of extracting him from the ancient settlement.

“The moment it gets determined that Elliot wouldn’t survive the wrath of the serpentine devil, I will make my move to save his life. At that time, I request the four elders to accompany me. As you can already see, he might very well be the future of the resistance.”
