Chapter 173 - Ran Away
Apart from their current circumstances, both of them seemed to have come closer to each other than expected. Although the boy didn\'t utter more than two words a day, the young Zhenyi was enough to eat his ears off. No matter how much of a chatterbox she was being, the boy would never ask her to keep quiet. It was as if he enjoyed listening to her nonsense.
One day, Zhenyi was so fed up with his silent treatment that she decided to beat him up if he dared to keep his mouth sealed. Actually, he was the first person she could talk to in more than a year she has been locked here, but seeing his silent and expressionless face, she was feeling even more lonely than she already was. She just wanted to make him speak by hook or by crook.
"Do you think I am crazy?" The girl asked him, a solemn expression on her fragile face.
The boy blinked at him as if to ask her what she meant by the sentence? Well, it was right she was a little crazy sometimes but most of the time, she was just...her.
"Why am I even talking to you?" She turned her gaze from him and looked at the closed door and sighed in defeat. " I won\'t trouble you with all my talking, but I am really lonely, and if you don\'t want me to disturb you, just say it."
The boy just stared at her but didn\'t speak.
Zhenyi huffed and attempted to stand up, seething, but the chain on her legs didn\'t allow her to move.
"A-are you alright?" His hoarse voice graced her unused ears.
Her eyes widened as she looked at him. "If I know getting hurt can make you speak, I will have done it ages ago."
He didn\'t reply, just told her with his eyes not to get hurt again as if it pained him.
And after that he didn\'t say anything and neither she urged him to.
Days passed or perhaps months too since he had joined him inside the basement and some days he would utter some words much to little Zhenyi\'s delight, and other days he would just keep mum as usual.
One lucky day, something happened and he spoke. Neither of Zhenyis noticed how and what transpired in the room. The little Zhenyi was asleep and the other one was lost somewhere when they heard his voice.
"Unchain her now!" His voice rang, astonishing both of them.
The boy had pointed the blade at the throat of a man who once slapped Zhenyi in front of him and only he knew how badly he wanted to kill him there and then.
"Little boy, back off. You are playing with fire and trust me, it didn\'t suit you." The men tried to threaten the boy but he was not the one to back off.
All along he was of the view that what could a weak boy such as him could do? But now that he had seen the murderous aura surrounding him, he realized that how wrong he had been.
The boy dug the blade a little deeper into the man\'s throat and said," I will count to five. Unchain her or be ready to die. You should know one thing that I have no one waiting for me at home and I am not even afraid of death and so I do not fear you, but you have something to lose here. Therefore, you must know what to choose here now!"
"Even if I unlocked the chain, you won\'t be able to run from here. You don\'t even know where you are."
"That\'s our headache and it has nothing to do with you at all."
And just like this, he freed Zhenyi from the chain.
The boy looked at Zhenyi and said," Leave through the door and wait for me outside. I will join in five minutes. Go out."
And it didn\'t take a genius to know why he persuaded Zhenyi to leave the room first. He didn\'t want to kill the scum in front of her. She had seen enough of the darkness and didn\'t want her to see more of it.
Once he joined her outside the basement, they ran. Call it the miracle or whatever, but they didn\'t meet anyone outside who could stop them from running from this awful place.
He gripped her little hands in his slightly bigger ones and gave out a genuine smile as he saw her giggling at him, her eyes twinkling with immense happiness.
She was happy that she left that place.
After more than a year, she left the place.
But her heart was heavy. She lost too much more than she had gained.
Even a little girl knew that she had committed an unforgivable sin.
She had been the reason for her mother\'s and sister\'s death.
"Why do you help me?" The girl asked him, she looked back to see if they were following him.
"Don\'t look back, just run."
"You don\'t even talk to me then why will you help me?" She asked him instead. She had all plans of bombarding him with one question after another. Who asked him to give her the silent treatment?
He let out an embarrassed smile. "That…"
He didn\'t stop running but he indeed looked at her and said," I don\'t know how to speak or talk. I\'m also surprised that how with you, it\'s so natural? I\'m sorry if I hurt you."
Zhenyi shook her head at him. " Then, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. So, what if you don\'t know how to talk, even though I don\'t know the majority of the things. I will teach you how to talk, okay?"
"Thank you!" The boy felt warm inside his heart. When was the last time someone talked to him so gently? Never.

On the other side.
"Doctor, what\'s happening to my wife?" The anxious Long Jie screamed as the doctors themselves couldn\'t get what was wrong with the patient.
"Mr. Long, we have been trying our best to protect Mrs. Long but no matter what we do, she is not responding. Her pulse is getting faint again," the worried and confused doctors tried to tell the family about her condition.
"Then, why the hell are you called doctors? Get out of here, if you can\'t save her!" Long Jie screeched.
He knew he shouldn\'t behave like a mad man now but what could he do? He had been waiting for her to wake up now for the last five days. The earlier three days were relatively easier to pass without her but now each passing moment, he was feeling that he might lose her now. He was on pins and needles. How could he let her leave him now?
"Sir, we are trying our best. Please, cooperate with us. We have already informed you that if she didn\'t wake up in the definite time, she might face complications again." The other doctor tried to explain them.
"Son, you have to control your emotions!" The voice belongs to Long Shaoming. He had never seen Long Jie out of control ever. It was a first for him too. He didn\'t know that the girl he chose for his son would affect him in such away. Only if he knew before…
Long Jie glanced at him and let out a sneer.
He didn\'t call any of them here. They came here on their own accord. So, why couldn\'t they keep their mouth sealed?
Outside the room.
"Master, aren\'t you going in?" Ryuu\'s assistant spoke as he looked at his aggrieved master. He had been consuming cigarettes after cigarettes that was not good for his health at all.
"Will she be alright?" Ryuu asked instead. He might try to look as calm as he usually was, but today he was worried beyond words.
Five days of great agony. Five days of wait. But still, there was no news about her recovery at all, instead, it was getting worse at all. He was called the omnipotent Ryuu, when no one knew the way, he just knew but today, even he was helpless and powerless and it was not a good feeling at all.
"Doctor is treating her, Master. Miss Xin will be alright."
"Out of my sight," Ryuu ordered. "Now!"
\'Damm this stubborn Assistant!\' He knew his assistant would turn his gaze but wouldn\'t leave him alone at all as if he was his greatest enemy but what could he do instead of gritting his teeth in anger!
