Legend of Dragon Son-in-law

Chapter 334: 334 Ridge Family Members Blocking the Road_1

The Saint Heir walked to where the tree had been broken and stopped, staring straight ahead.

Their attempt to invite me into the vat may very well be their own undoing.

Had it been in the city, the Saint Heir might have been concerned about the impact and chosen not to make a move.

But on this scarcely travelled road, anyone seeking discomfort, the Saint Heir wouldn’t mind sending them to meet God.

Of course, it might also mean descending to hell.

“The one who will kill you naturally can’t stay hidden.” Julius Reed, clad in a black robe, slowly walked to the middle of the road, less than ten meters away from the Saint Heir.

“Heh, as expected of petty thieves, you don’t even dare to reveal your true face! But I won’t kill you; I will make your life a living hell.” The Saint Heir was not in a rush to act; in his eyes, the other party was not even worthy of being called an opponent.

He had been bottling up a storm of fury since his arrival, and now it was the perfect time to vent it.

It’s just a pity for the man in the black robe before me, for he might just become the scapegoat.

Unfazed by the Saint Heir’s threats, Julius Reed took a step forward: “In Five-river Province, do you know who is the most revered?”

“This tiny place is unworthy of discussing nobility!” retorted the Saint Heir, his tone filled with disdain.

“Is that so? But today I will tell you, even a mighty dragon cannot suppress the local snake! In Five-river Province, the Ridge Family is the sky!” Julius Reed said with a heavy tone.

His intent in stopping here today was to instigate a feud between the Ridge Family and the Saint Heir. Once an irreconcilable conflict emerged between the two powers, the true mastermind behind the scenes would reveal themselves.

To this day, Julius Reed did not believe Truman Ridge to be the mastermind.

Even though everything seemed so logical, with the steward managing business at the forefront and Truman Ridge strategizing within the family.

Yet such a family, one that Julius Reed had helped rise, couldn’t possibly wield such vast influence despite its incalculable wealth.

The Skyfire Saint Heir, a figure second only to the Sect Hierarch, such a ruthless character, the Ridge Family could not afford even with all their wealth!

Furthermore, judging by the Saint Heir’s arrogance and his direct detour to the Ridge Family villa, it was clear that the Skyfire Saint Heir did not take the Ridge Family seriously.

Otherwise, why would he head straight to the Ridge Family?

That is surely to ask for redress!

“The Ridge Family? May I ask which Ridge Family?” the Saint Heir asked, equally puzzled by Julius Reed’s words.

He was well aware of Truman Ridge’s substantial wealth in Five-river Province. Calling it the most influential local family dynasty was not an overstatement.

But what was this man in the black robe’s relation to the Ridge Family?

“In Five-river Province, there’s only one Ridge Family! Our Family Head has been fasting and praying recently, disliking the aura of slaughter, which is why you were arranged to stay at the Leopold Family villa.” Julius Reed raised his head to look at the Saint Heir: “But it seems you didn’t plan to give our Family Head face, bringing so many men with you—was it to go to the Ridge Family and seek justice?”

Being able to articulate the situation with the Leopold Family villa and the detour so clearly, the Saint Heir grew somewhat convinced, though it was still only one side of the story.

“If you’re seeking death, I might just oblige,” said the Saint Heir, looking at the man in the black robe, determined to test the truth.

Upon hearing this, Julius Reed let out a faint smile, his voice filled with arrogance: “In Five-river Province, please abide by the local rules. Otherwise, I won’t be polite, and neither will the Ridge Family! Recognize the reality; this is Five-river Province, not your foreign land!”

He had to provoke the Saint Heir, make him believe that this situation was Truman Ridge’s doing.

On the Ridge Family’s end, Julius Reed had already arranged to rush there with a group, to wreak havoc and then leave behind a saying along with a corpse.

And that corpse would be none other than the minor leader who had just died in the car.

“The Ridge Family? Is this Truman Ridge’s intention?” Coldly spoke the Saint Heir: “I hope he won’t regret it!”

As he spoke these words, a growing murderous intent began to climb over the Saint Heir.

“If you make a move, don’t blame the Ridge Family for not showing respect to Skyfire! The Family Head isn’t someone you can simply meet whenever you wish,” Julius Reed said with his arms crossed, staring down the Saint Heir.

His robe, in the darkness of night, concealed his face so completely that people from afar couldn’t make out his features.

“Let’s try then, I think the one who will regret it is you,” the Saint Heir slowly raised both hands, his eyes seeming to burn with flames.

Facing the Saint Heir’s move, Julius Reed felt no fear. Back in the day, he had wiped out the entire Skyfire; even if his power hadn’t fully recovered, dealing with a Saint Heir would not be a difficult task.

Whoosh!

A moment later, a tongue of fire erupted from the Saint Heir’s palms, charging straight at Julius Reed.

This flame was unlike ordinary fire; even the slightest contact would cause the skin to fester and the wound to grow, until death.

“Child’s play, are you a street performer?” A smirk appeared on Julius Reed’s lips as he fiercely rotated his black robe, instantly enveloping the flames within the fabric.

“How is that possible!” The sight completely shocked the Saint Heir.

All these years, not even the Sect Hierarch had been able to catch such flame with bare hands and emerge utterly unscathed.

“Your turn!” With a forceful twirl, Julius Reed redirected the fire back towards the Saint Heir!

Facing his own tactic being used against him, the Saint Heir cursed, “Damn it!”

He then leaped upward to the trees lining the road and, swinging rapidly, moved above Julius Reed.

“Die!”

The Saint Heir roared, smashing down both fists towards Julius Reed’s head, which were now ablaze with flames!

Swish!

Julius Reed swirled his robe, intercepting the punch in mid-air!

Crack!

The punch’s immense force shattered the pavement beneath Julius Reed’s feet.

And the Saint Heir was rebounded away, stumbling back several steps, a gush of fresh blood surging up his throat.

“Let’s call it quits for today, please comply with the arrangements of the Ridge Family Head,” Julius Reed said after landing a successful blow, his robe billowing as he vanished into the darkness.

“Pugh!”

After Julius Reed disappeared, the Saint Heir spat out a mouthful of blood.

“Should we pursue?” His employees immediately surrounded him, eyes gleaming as they looked at the spot where Julius Reed had vanished.

“No need!”

The Saint Heir waved his hand, gently wiping the blood from his mouth with his garment, “Head straight to the Ridge Family, I want an explanation today!”

The people sent by the Ridge Family were powerful, but the Saint Heir was even more confident in his own strength.

He firmly believed that the injuries the other party sustained were definitely worse than his own, a feeling he had discerned in the instant their fists had met.

The reason he chose not to pursue was to conserve his strength for settling the score with the Ridge Family!

“What should we do now…”

The people of Skyfire spoke up, seeking guidance.

Today’s events had been far from smooth, starting with the dock explosion, followed by a car collision in the city, and now an unexpected roadside fight.

“Head to the Ridge Family, and by the way, give Truman Ridge a call. Tell him to wash his neck; I’ll be coming for it anytime,” the Saint Heir said as he turned to climb into the carriage, his chest heaving.
