Legend of Dragon Son-in-law

Chapter 335: 335: Battle at the Mountain Gate_1

The opponents were so powerful that they had managed to injure the Saint Heir.

But at the same time, there was even more anger. The Ridge Family from the mere Five-river Province had actually dared to ride on the neck of Skyfire.

Although the Saint Heir did not utter a word in the car, everyone clearly understood that this was the calm before the storm.

Fortunately, no further incidents occurred on the way to the Ridge Family’s villa.

“Wait!”

After getting out of the car, the Saint Heir stopped the staff who were about to charge into the Ridge residence.

The Ridge residence was located within a large mountain, which could only be entered if someone from the inside opened the gates,

allowing a crack to form in the mountain for entrance. Otherwise, it would be very difficult to enter with external force.

Previously, Julius Reed had entered the mountain because the Ridge Family had opened the gate from inside.

“Saint Heir, there’s no need to worry. It’s not difficult for us in Skyfire to open up this mountain!” said a black man wearing a tank top, waving his hand.

They had had previous encounters with the Ridge Family and had been to the villa before, so they knew a thing or two about the structure of the place.

Mountains like this one were just for show, to live quietly away from the world. Their defensive capabilities weren’t truly strong.

With today’s technology, cutting through mountains is a piece of cake, and if they wanted to bury the Ridge Family under the mountain, it wouldn’t be hard at all.

“There has been a battle here,” the Saint Heir said, closing his eyes and beginning to breathe lightly.

His keen sense of smell picked up the scents around him, and then his brows slowly furrowed.

“People have died here, not a few.”

As he said this, he suddenly opened his eyes and looked toward the direction of the Ridge Family’s entrance.

The tank-top-wearing man was somewhat confused by his words: “Saint Heir, what do you suggest we do, then?”

The leader responsible for combat was dealing with the car accident and was not following the team at the moment. Security and defense duties all fell on the man in the tank top.

“Wait!” The Saint Heir closed his eyes again, and his furrowed brows did not relax.

“Since they dared to attack us, they will certainly not close their doors and hide.”

After hearing his words, the tank-top-wearing man called the staff to a halt, and everyone waited in silence on alert.

The Saint Heir, who had been furious earlier, was now surprisingly calm.

Facing the gate set into the mountain, he stood with slightly closed eyes, hands in sleeves, unmoving.

It was already night, and the location of the Ridge residence was quite isolated with not a soul in sight.

Apart from the chirping of birds, only the sound of the wind could be heard in the mountain forests.

“How long have we been here?” the Saint Heir suddenly opened his eyes and asked.

“To answer the Saint Heir,” the tank-top-wearing man looked at his watch and replied, “Twenty-seven minutes have passed.”

“Then Anthony should be back by now, shouldn’t he?”

the Saint Heir asked again.

Anthony was the group leader, responsible for coordinating the combat troops and ensuring Skyfire’s safety.

“By the time,” the tank-top-wearing man opened the location tracker, and saw that the little red dot was motionless, staying in the position on the Ridge Family mountain.

“Saint Heir, Anthony is not moving,”

the man with the tank top muttered in shock and immediately zoomed in on the map.

After clearly reading the information, his pupils shrank sharply and he said in surprise, “Saint Heir… Anthony… is dead! He died on the Ridge Family mountain!”

People of some status in Skyfire all carried a miniature device with them.

This device, implanted through special surgery and hidden within the body, was practically undetectable under normal circumstances.

It could locate one’s position, as well as check a person’s health status.

Thus, if someone was caught in an accident or faced danger, Skyfire could rush to provide support at the first moment and ensure the safety of its personnel.

But now, the information indicated that Anthony’s heartbeat was zero, his body temperature thirteen degrees; he had obviously been dead for a long time, even his body temperature was nearing the surrounding temperature.

“Let me see!”

Upon hearing this terrible news, the Saint Heir stretched out his hand, and the tank-top-wearing man immediately handed the monitor to the Saint Heir.

On the map, there were clusters of red dots representing their location, while Anthony’s red dot on the Ridge mountain had turned gray, signifying that the person was dead.

The Saint Heir smashed the monitor to the ground, flames nearly shooting from his eyes: “Today Skyfire has suffered such humiliation, I will grind the Ridge Family into dust!”

He was merely applying pressure, trying to coax the Ridge Family out of the mountain.

“Skyfire is overpowering to the extreme!”

Sure enough, about three minutes later, a booming voice echoed from inside the mountain.

The Ridge Family had set up numerous electronic surveillance systems on the mountain, and thus knew every move outside the mountain gates like the back of their hand.

“The Ridge Family sure is arrogant. In all my years, this is the first time I’ve been turned away at the door!” the Saint Heir said, looking in the direction of the mountain gate, raising a finger, and shouting, “One minute, if the gates do not open, I will give the order!”

Once again, silence fell inside the mountain.

Half a minute later, amidst a thunderous rumble, the mountain slowly split in two!

Then, a passageway roughly five meters wide and several meters high appeared in the middle of the mountain.

“Skyfire is too much, daring to kill my household guards!” a group of about thirty people burst out from the pathway, the leader being none other than Truman Ridge.

He was dressed in hemp garments, clearly mourning someone.

The people in front of him wore green clothes and carried Longswords in their hands.

“Mr. Ridge, what grandeur!” the Saint Heir stated coldly.

The Ridge family came out full of killing intent, making the already furious Saint Heir even more irate.

Although he wanted to control the rage within him, he could not allow Skyfire’s face to be lost.

“I have long heard of the distinguished ability of the Saint Heir in the art of the sacred flames. I would very much like to witness it today!” Truman Ridge said, looking directly at the Saint Heir with a challenging tone.

He wouldn’t have been so bold before, but three days earlier, a team of swordsmen had been sent to guard the Ridge residence and ensure Truman Ridge’s safety.

It was because of these swordsmen that Truman Ridge was emboldened.

“Indeed, Mr. Ridge has become bold, no longer the bending and scraping figure who invited me over,” the Saint Heir stated, his lips curling into a smile and deliberately emphasizing the words “bending and scraping.”

“Do not think that just because you belong to a grand sect that you can insult us at will! Just a moment ago, your people from Skyfire came to the Ridge residence, and thankfully, with the protection of those behind me, we were able to slay that arrogant assailant!” Truman Ridge spoke with intense anger.

“Anthony, was it you who killed him?” The Saint Heir’s eyes narrowed, and a terrifying killing intent burst forth once more.

Anthony must have taken a detour to the Ridge residence to demand an explanation during the time the Saint Heir was trapped on the road, only to be killed and thrown outside the mountain.

“Die!”

The Saint Heir roared furiously and flung his hands forward!
