Sheyan shrugged. “Fine by me, but please be quick. Oh, the person you’re going to ask is probably Mr. Harry Osborn, the Green Goblin, right? That super-rich guy and former sponsor of yours.”
Dr. Octopus gave Sheyan an impatient look.
“Yeah. His business is related to the military industry and he’s also a tycoon himself. If something like this is really happening, he should be invited as well.”
*Ring, ring, ring...*
“Hello, I’m looking for Harry, Harry Osborn. What? He’s busy? I DON’T CARE. Tell him to answer the phone right away!! ”
A sweet voice replied, “Just a moment, please. Okay, okay. I’m transferring the call...”
Then came the Green Goblin’s impatient voice.
“What the hell is your problem, Otto? I’m busy here.”
Dr. Octopus decided to go straight to the point. Or maybe, it was never in his personality to beat around the bush.
“Harry, did you hear anything about a Noah’s Ark project? Tell me honestly.”
Harry, the Green Goblin, burst into an unnatural laughter.
“Ahahaha, I can’t believe you actually believe those rumours. That’s so funny. I’m dying of laughter!”
“Tell me the truth, Harry! How much longer can something like this be kept secret? It’s going to happen in less than 20 days! Or should I go ask someone else?” said Dr. Octopus in a heavy tone.
There was a moment of silence at the other end of the phone
“....Now that you mention it, there seems to be something like that. But my qualification is still awaiting approval.”
Dr. Octopus was furious.
“You bastard! Why didn’t you tell me right away???”
Harry the Green Goblin harrumphed and told him, full of scorn, “You even have to rob someone to buy a hamburger. Do you have a billion Euros? Oh, wait, it’s a billion Euros per seat. You have to bring your wife and daughter too, don’t you? Do you have three billion Euros?”
“You.... F*ck off!” Dr. Octopus roared with a fury that stemmed from humiliation. He threw the phone away.
Sheyan couldn’t help laughing when he overheard the conversation. He never thought there would be a day when he would witness the notorious Dr. Octopus having his broke a$$ handed to him! He then consoled the doctor, who was so angry that his face and neck was red.
“Don’t worry, Doctor. You can rest assured that the government definitely won’t let Mr. Osborn aboard. They can’t bring an unstable factor like him who may threaten their governance onto the Arks.”
Dr. Octopus took heavy breaths to calm himself down. “Why not?” he asked.
Sheyan smiled and said, “Telling him that his qualification is awaiting approval is just a delaying tactic by the government. Think about it. The Arks can only save 300 to 400 thousand people at most. This will inevitably severely limit the number of armed forces the government can bring on board. Mr. Green Goblin’s personal strength hasn’t been weakened. If Mr. Green Goblin suddenly has the ambition to rule as a king on the Ark, who can stop him?”
“That’s why it’s almost inevitable that he can’t get on board. The so-called awaiting approval is just a delaying tactic.”
Dr. Octopus finally calmed down a little after hearing this. He picked up the water jar next to him and gulped down large mouthfuls of water. He then stood up nervously.
“Where’s the damn base for our project??? Hell, we don’t have much time. I’ve got to start working right away! Oh, before that, I have to bring Tarissa and Henry over!”
Dr. Octopus originally had a wife named Rosalie, and they loved each other. However, during a deadly nuclear reactor accident, Rosalie died and Dr. Octopus accidentally merged with the robotic arms. For a period after that, Dr. Octopus’ mind was dominated by the will of the robotic arms, and it was the darkest and most fanatical period in his life (fanatical, as in he fanatically robbed people to fund his scientific research).
Of course, this kind of fanaticism could not persist for too long, just like a man could not keep sustaining an erection. Dr. Octopus eventually had to calm down to face his own life. At that time, Rosalie’s sister, Tarissa, came into his life.
He had a lonely heart and a lonely body, and she had a face which looked much like his deceased wife. Dr. Octopus quickly formed a family again and had a child named Henry. He had already lost his family once, and he now cherished his family even more. It was small wonder that he was so anxious. Not only was he worried that there would not be enough time, he was probably also worried that his position would be taken over by Iron Man! He could not afford the Ark tickets, so this was his only chance!

“It’s finally done...” muttered Sheyan while watching Dr. Octopus and his family collect their belongings in a hurry. He went out, lit a cigarette, took a deep puff, and let the nicotine penetrate into his lungs, providing him with a sense of comfort.
He raised his head and looked up at the sky. Right now, the dark clouds and the bad weather somehow appeared a lot more pleasant. The jumble of confusing thoughts that had been on his mind since he first entered the world were almost all straightened out, and the heavy pressure on his shoulders had become much lighter.
Suddenly, his phone rang. It was Zi. Exhaustion could be heard in her voice, but there was also a hint of excitement.
“We did it, Seaman. News just came from the Cullens. The vampires in Sweden got to Mr. Stevenson in time and managed to save him. He’s the last unprotected person on the list.”
As soon as Zi finished her words, Sheyan immediately received the notifications:
[ Silver Party: Party Ace, congratulations on completing the main mission: “The Beginning of Salvation!” ]
[ The mission requires you to rescue at least three people. The maximum number of people to be rescued is 27. ]
[ The number of people you have rescued: 27 ]
[ Mission Completion Rate: Perfect! ]
[ Each of you will be rewarded with five achievement points and five free attribute points. ]
[ Your relationship with every rescued person has automatically improved, ranging from reverence to worship. ]
[ You received an extra reward: Delaying the apocalypse by 300 hours! ]
[ Reminder: The alliance you formed has expanded to the limit. The world’s other legendary figures and factions will no longer join you. ]
[ “Main Mission: Salvation II” will begin in 12 hours. ]

Sheyan then joined up with the others. It was now a race against time, so as soon as Dr. Octopus arrived, he immediately brought together members of the scientific research team and Magneto to have a discussion.
Their greatest advantage was the specific disaster information of the apocalypse provided by the contestants, which the government did not have.
This allowed them to be make specific, targeted plans, and most importantly, they knew for sure how long the doomsday disaster would last before the earth would return to normal, so they knew the specific amount of food and water to bring.
Because it was a cooperation of an unprecedented level of sincerity, the research team was able to overcome the three major problems in a mere three hours. If the supplies and production lines all proceeded smoothly, it would only take three days for the first airship they would build, named “Hope”, to go into testing.
According to the plan put forward by Dr. Octopus, seven airships would form a semi-fixed formation. Six giant airships would form a hexagon, and the cargo airship would fly in the centre. The cargo airship would have simple transport channels to dock with the other airships to deliver fresh food and water.
A joint formation like this could greatly improve the safety of the airships. If one of the airships broke down, instead of crashing straight away, it could rely on the buoyancy of the other six airships to slowly land. Even if an emergency situation arose, the cargo airship in the middle could cut off the connection to the airship that had met with mishap and kick it out of the formation.
After going through the plan and the hastily cooked-up 3D images, the various participants raised questions of their own, such as how to make sure the gas inside the airship would not explode. The members of the scientific research team instantly provided the answers.
Even those who could not go to New York joined the meeting via video feeds. The participants were quite satisfied with the result. They decided to invest all available resources in this plan and to actively seek external funding as well. The wealth in their hands quickly snowballed into an astonishing figure.
All the investors were unprecedentedly generous. No one had any objection to Sheyan’s intention to use some of this amazing wealth to build even more airships either – when the Earth was about to be destroyed, what use was real estate, gold, and figures in their bank accounts? They might as well use their fortune to save more people. After 2012, population would be the greatest wealth! An emperor without subjects was no different than a beggar.
The only condition the investors had was that they must have the safest and the best positions on the airships. This problem could easily be solved by placing them in the cargo airship in the middle of the airship formation.
The cargo airship was right in the centre of the formation, which meant that it was the core airship. It mainly carried on it water, food, and some things that were necessary after the end of the world such as various seeds, machines and so on. The comfort of the passengers on it was guaranteed, and it also had the power to kick the other airships out of the formation! Such an arrangement would place the investors in a position of wealth and power even during the turbulence of the end of the world. How could they not be satisfied?
Sheyan finally had time to rest after making sure everything was on track. Everyone involved in the project had gathered in New York. Sheyan noticed that Edward Cullen was already enjoying the company of the timid Bella. It seemed that they were destined to be together. The head of the Cullen family, Carlisle Cullen came to express his gratitude to Sheyan. If they had not met with Party Ace, they would probably only realise the apocalypse was coming by the time it had already happened. The only fate awaiting them would be extinction.
