Chapter 1193: Inevitable Conflicts
Chapter 1193: Inevitable Conflicts

The government must have realised something was going on by now, but as long as they did not publicise the news of the end of the world and interfere with the government’s Noah’s Ark plan, the government would not come and investigate them at the risk of social unrest.
Four hours later, Dr. Octopus called for a meeting. Sheyan noticed that the people he had gathered included the vampires and the mutants. In short, none of them were ordinary people; all of them were powerful. Dr. Octopus raised a list in his hand and went straight to the point.
“I now have a terrifying amount of funds in my hands, an amount the likes of which the world has never seen. However, there are many things in this world that money can’t buy. So, I need you to go out and help me acquire the materials on this list.”
All of them could hear the meaning behind Dr. Octopus’ words, because everyone here knew what method Dr. Octopus would usually employ to get the materials he needed but could not buy.
The vampires held no reservations about such actions. They bared their fangs and grinned at each other. It was worth mentioning that the Cullen family was not actually the most powerful among the vampire clans. That distinction went to the Brujah clan from Europe, who sensed that something was amiss and had rushed over. The leader of this clan, who also held the title of the Prince of London, had a name which resounded far and wide — Dracula!
Professor X could not help but frown.
“Will our plan fail without these materials?”
Dr. Octopus glared at Professor X with bloodshot eyes and said, “If we can assemble these materials, the chances of us surviving the apocalypse will increase by at least 45%.”
A Vampire Count suddenly remarked in a hoarse voice, “I’m willing to do it even if it only increases the chances of my survival by 1%. Life is simply too boring right now. I’ll take this opportunity to stretch for a bit.”
Magneto said impatiently, “Quit wasting time. Just give us the list.”
The majority had made their voices heard, so Professor X kept quiet. Sheyan knocked on the table to gain their attention.
“Try your best to keep a low profile and keep trouble to a minimum. The government is already paying attention to us. Purchase the materials with money if you can, and if you can’t, try not to kill anyone.”
Dr. Octopus showed them the list. When Sheyan laid eyes upon the list, he suddenly received a series of notifications:
[ Mission Briefing: The government are not the only people who responded to the approaching doomsday. Many elite personnel around the world are also trying hard to save themselves. Your current group has to obtain more resources to meet the increasingly urgent construction needs. ]
[ Mission Description: Obtain 5 kg of tritium, 700 g of uranium, 700 g of mercury, and 1,000 kg of rhodium in 72 hours. ]
[ Mission Hint: Everyone in this world isn’t fighting for their own sake anymore. Their fathers, mothers, relatives and friends were behind them, supporting their will to fight to the very end. Therefore, the intensity of the fights is likely beyond your imagination. Past friendships no longer matter. ]

Sheyan frowned after seeing these notifications. He then looked around at the conference room that was as chaotic and noisy as a wet market. He abruptly stood up and said, “If you guys really think this is an easy job, I’m afraid less than half of you will return alive.”
Sheyan’s words carried great weight in this group. The others were surprised to hear what he said.
Sheyan continued, “No one’s an idiot. Although the news of the end of the world has not spread among the ordinary people, there are definitely rumours flying around among the high-level elites. And among them, there were definitely some who could not get on the Arks. No one wants to die, which means that everyone will try their hardest to survive.... We’re building airships, so who’s to say that there weren’t others who are building submarines?”
At this point, Sheyan looked at Dr. Octopus whose face had become grave.
“If there are people who are trying to build other vehicles to survive the end of the world, will the materials you need conflict with theirs, doctor?”
Dr. Octopus contemplated the problem for a moment before he answered, “I now finally understand why the prices of these rare metals have suddenly spiked. I recall that a year ago, the prices of these rare metals were less than a tenth of what they are now. Why have they increased so much? Obviously, it’s because there are some people who are also buying and hoarding them!!! So you’re right. If we want to obtain these materials, we’ll inevitably get into conflicts with other forces.”
“We’ll have to plan carefully if that’s the case,” Sheyan remarked seriously. “Because conflict will inevitably bring hate, vengeance, and bloodshed. I suggest everyone to bring their families and relatives here first. We can concentrate our forces to protect them together, and they can also board the airships as soon as the airships are ready.”
At this point, Sheyan looked around.
“Our strength is limited. We’ll have to make the best use of everything or our situation will become even more dangerous. Each of you have different powers, so it’s not difficult to determine who would attack and who would defend. If we’re talking about guarding against an invasion by outside enemies, Professor X with the brainwave amplifier Cerebro is inarguably the best candidate to take charge of the defence. He should be able to cover our production base and living area for the next ten days. You guys have any objection to that arrangement?”
Sheyan’s suggestion was well received. Professor X’s strength, prestige and conduct meant that everyone could entrust the safety of their loved ones to his care. Therefore, no one had any objection.
Next, they picked out a few others who were good on the defensive side. An example of this was the Vampire Duke, Lagunic. He could split into seven little golden bats to act as sentries. His real body could rapidly switch from one golden bat to another. He would be excellent in defence.
There was also another really amazing Vampire Duke who could turn into a bloody mist. This was a common trick among vampires, but a bloody mist which covered two square kilometers was unheard of. Anyone who stepped into the bloody mist would be stepping into a powerful domain skill. To make it worse, they would not even be able to find the vampire’s real body!
Another defensive star was the famous Storm, who needed a long time to gather her power. If she went to attack instead, she might be shot down before she could even rise to the sky.
The slow-moving Colossus, The Great Illusionist Stryker, and Sabertooth with his sensitive hearing, smell and vision also remained to defend the base.
Besides that, Magneto’s underlings, Quill and Callisto were also selected by Professor X as members of the Defence Force. Professor X was also very interested in Alice Cullen, who had the ability to foresee the future.
These people who remained behind, together with the powerful weapons made by Dr. Octopus and the other scientists, basically covered the entire base. Together with Professor X’s brainwave amplifier Cerebro, even if they were not completely impregnable, they were very hard to breach. And let’s not forget, Dr. Octopus himself was no weakling. Even Spider-man was once beaten by him to the point of losing confidence.
The attacking lineup was even more luxurious. There was no doubt that the vampires, with their courage and survivability, were the best assassins in the dark. Furthermore, they were now led by the Prince of London, Dracula. Together with the ever-changing devilish woman Mystique and Nightcrawler, who was good at instantaneous teleportation, they could instantly create a 10v1 situation at critical moments.
If the situation developed into a direct confrontation which they had to settle with brute force, they could attack with Magneto at the core. Jean, whose mind-probing ability was second only to Professor X, would act as support. The vanguard would be formed by the immortal creatures Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike, as well as the ancient monster Juggernaut. Cyclops would provide long range support from behind. When the enemy formation collapsed, the waiting vampires would flock forward and attack like a storm!

The waves beat violently against the breakwater. If someone dared to stand on the breakwater, they may very well be swept into the blue ocean by the foaming waves.
As if in rehearsal for the 2012 apocalypse, waves surging as high as mountains filled the ocean surface as far as the eyes could see. If the information was not read directly from the informer’s mind by Jean, it was hard to believe that anyone would bring smuggled goods ashore in this accursed weather, and the goods were three kilograms of tritium at that!
It should be noted that these three kilograms of tritium most probably came from the secret storehouse of the Black Sea Fleet. According to the current market, their value exceeded ten billion US dollars! Of course, such expensive goods must be protected by equally powerful guards.
This meant that the “Hope” alliance formed by Sheyan would officially have their first intense conflict against other forces in this world!!
The rain pounded down like a torrent, hitting Sheyan’s face hard and making ripples in the surging sea.
Sheyan suddenly turned around and asked, “What’s the matter? The target will be here any moment now.”
A figure which somehow managed to remain slim in a black raincoat walked over to Sheyan’s side. She was Professor X’s student, Jean.
She told Sheyan with a gloomy face, “I want you to know that I don’t like you. Whether there really will be an apocalypse in the coming days is yet to be seen, but as soon as you came to us, you made my mentor go against his principles of many years and start committing crimes! Even if the 2012 apocalypse is real, can you really save us? Even the government, with their resources and wealth, can only build four Noah’s Arks. How can you claim to be able to do what they did? Sooner or later, I’ll unveil your deception!”
Sheyan produced a forced smile and shook his head. “We’re already at a disadvantage because we started too late. That’s why we have to rob. If we have to commit some crimes in order to survive, that can’t be helped. Our greatest advantage is that we know the specific details of the disasters that are about to occur so we can build vehicles that can overcome these specific problems, while others can’t.”
